How to calibrate the EIZO ColorEdge monitor?
Use the ColorNavigator software supplied on the CD-ROM. Connect the monitor to the computer using the supplied USB cable, then launch the software to generate an ICC or ColorSync profile. The monitor must be turned on for at least 30 minutes before calibration.
What display modes are available?
Modes include: Custom, sRGB, EBU, REC709, SMPTE-C, DCI (digital cinema) and three CAL modes (for calibration via ColorNavigator). Each mode can be adjusted in brightness, color temperature, gamma, etc.
How to safely clean the LCD screen?
Use a soft cotton cloth or glasses pouch. For stubborn stains, use the supplied ScreenCleaner cloth or slightly dampen a part of the cloth. Never use solvents, alcohol, benzene or abrasive powder that could damage the panel.
What resolutions are supported?
The monitor supports many resolutions, from 640x480 up to the native resolution: 1680x1050 (CG223W) or 1920x1200 (CG243W). Refresh rates depend on the resolution; see the preset timing table in the manual.
Does the monitor have a USB hub?
Yes, it incorporates a USB 2.0 hub with one upstream port (for connection to the computer) and two downstream ports for peripherals. The hub remains active even in standby, unless the main switch is turned off.
How to save energy with this monitor?
Enable the Auto EcoView function that automatically adjusts brightness according to ambient lighting, or use the PowerManager energy-saving mode. The main power switch completely cuts off power (0 W).
Can the monitor be used in portrait mode?
Yes, the monitor can rotate 90° to the right (portrait). Requires a compatible video card and a setting in the Orientation menu to display the OSD correctly. Caution: ensure cables are clear before rotating.
What to do if the screen displays no image?
Check that the power cord is plugged in and the main switch is ON. Check the signal cable connection and press the S button to switch between inputs. The blue indicator shows that the monitor is on; if orange, the monitor is in standby. Refer to the Troubleshooting chapter in the manual.
How to adjust the color temperature?
Access the Color menu > Temperature. You can choose between Standard, Native, or a value from 4000K to 10000K in steps of 500K. The Gain adjustment allows fine tuning of the red, green, blue components.
Is the monitor compatible with VESA mounting?
Yes, it is compatible with VESA 100x100 mm standard. Use an optional EIZO arm or stand. The plate thickness should be 2.6 mm and the screws suitable (M4 x 12 mm for CG243W, foot screws for CG223W). Consult the manual for mounting precautions.
