Frequently Asked Questions - i50 SEAC

What is the maximum depth of the i50 torch?
The i50 torch is designed for a maximum depth of 100 meters, making it suitable for most technical and recreational dives.
How do I adjust the light beam of the torch?
To adjust the beam, hold the handle with one hand and the head with the other at the rubber ring. Turn the head to switch from a focused beam of 14° to a wide beam of 75°.
How do I turn the torch on and off?
The torch is equipped with an electronic lock: press the button twice quickly to turn it on or off. This prevents any accidental activation.
How do I recharge the torch battery?
Use the magnetic cable provided. Connect the magnetic end to the torch, then plug the other end into a USB 5 V, 1-2 A power source. The red ring flashes during charging and turns green once fully charged.
How do I replace the battery?
Unscrew the aluminium cap by turning it counterclockwise, insert the battery respecting the polarity (+ pole towards the torch), lubricate the O-rings with silicone grease, then screw it back on firmly.
What do the colors of the indicator on the switch mean?
The light ring around the button indicates the charge level: green = battery charged, yellow = battery half charged, flashing red = battery low or needs replacement.
What precautions should be taken to avoid leaks?
Ensure that the cap is perfectly screwed before diving. Check that no bubbles escape from the torch once in the water. Do not remove the tightening ring during the dive or when the torch is wet.
What is the battery life of the torch?
The battery life depends on the mode: maximum power (Hi): 1 hour, low power (Low): 4 hours 30 minutes. Flashing mode uses the same power as Hi mode.
Can the torch be used out of water?
Yes, but avoid leaving it on out of water for long periods to prevent overheating. Never point the beam at eyes.
How to maintain the torch to ensure its lifespan?
After each dive, rinse the torch with fresh water. Regularly lubricate the O-rings with silicone grease. Always use genuine spare parts for any replacement.

ADJUSTABLE LIGHT BEAM WIDTH

The torch has a system that allows users to adjust the angle of the light cone during use from 14° to 75° by turning the head.

Grasp the handle of the torch firmly with one hand, and with the other grip the head of the torch where the special rubber ring is located. Rotate one direction or another depending on whether you want the light beam to be broader or narrower.

WARNING

During this operation, be careful to grasp the base of the torch firmly and do not touch the end cap, because unscrewing this could cause the torch to flood.

WARNING

Strictly follow the polarity markings when inserting the battery!

INSERTING THE BATTERY

  • Unscrew the aluminium cap (1) at the end of the handle, turning counterclockwise.
  • Insert the battery (2), making sure that the positive pole (+) is pointing into the torch (3).
  • Grease the sealing O-rings (4) with a layer of silicone grease.
  • Screw the aluminium cap at the end of the handle back on, turning clockwise.

WARNING

Failure to fully tighten this cap could result in water leaking into the torch during use.

- Check that the torch switches on using the switch.

WARNING

If the battery is inserted incorrectly (inverted polarity), a short circuit will be created, causing irreversible damage and a risk that the torch could explode.

SEAC i50 - WARNING - 1

SWITCH

The torch has a pressure switch (5) with three functions: 100% light power, reduced power (30% of maximum power), and flashing.

The switch has a lighted circular crown that will be green when the battery is charged, yellow when the battery is half-charged and flashing red when the battery is low.

ENGAGING OR DISENGAGING THE SAFETY

The torch features an exclusive and effective electronic safety system, designed to prevent the torch from switching on accidentally. To switch on the torch, you must press the button twice in quick succession. Do the same to switch off the torch. This protects the torch from switching on or off inadvertently.

SEAC i50 - ENGAGING OR DISENGAGING THE SAFETY - 1

PRE-DIVE INSPECTION

  • If your torch has not been used recently, check the condition of the batteries by ensuring that it switches on.
  • Check that the body is fully closed.
  • As soon as you enter the water, check that no bubbles emerge from the body of the torch.

RECHARGING THE BATTERY

WARNING

Pay the utmost attention to ensuring that there are no flammable objects or products near the torch while it is charging.

Hold the magnetic end of the cable provided near the special seat in the torch (6) until it connects, and then connect the other end to a 5 volt, 1-2 amp mains power supply. The circular red crown around the on button will light up right away. This indicates that the battery is charging. When the light turns green, it means that the battery is fully charged. Unplug the connector plugged to the power adapter or computer USB port first, and then unplug the magnetic connector from the torch.

If the circular crown starts permanently flashing red during charging, the battery needs to be replaced.

If you do not plan to use the torch for lengthy periods, it is recommended to charge the battery every three months.

WARNING

Avoid leaving the torch connected to the power once it is charged, and in any event not longer than a few hours. Failure to do so could cause damage to the product and pose a danger to people and/or things.

FLOODING

If water gets into the torch, open the body, remove the battery, and immediately rinse the internal parts in fresh water. Then dry everything with a cloth and a hair dryer using warm air, paying close attention to mechanical parts. Remove any oxide that may have formed on the metal parts and conduct an operations test.

If a significant quantity of water has entered the torch and has remained there for a long period, open the torch body and immediately rinse the internal parts in fresh water. We suggest that you immediately contact a competent repair center or contact the closest SEAC shop.

USAGE RESTRICTIONS

  • The maximum operating depth is 100 m.
  • Because of the high temperatures that can arise in the torch when used out of the water, we recommend that you use it exclusively underwater.

MAINTENANCE AND TRANSPORT

It is important to abide by the following instructions:

  • Always transport the torch in a bag that will protect it from any blows.
  • When you aren't using the torch or for extended transport in the trunk or hold, it's good practice to always remove the batteries from the torch. This provision may be mandatory with certain airlines.
  • Avoid prolonged exposure to the sun.
  • After a dive (sea, lake, or pool), always rinse with fresh water and dry.
  • Check the condition of the gaskets (O-rings) every time you open the body of the torch.
  • Clean and grease the parts involved in opening the torch with silicone grease.
  • Avoid cleaning the torch with products containing chlorine (sodium hypochlorite/bleach, etc.), aggressive surfactants (such as degreasers), or solvents to avoid damaging the rust protectant anodic treatment, the plastic parts, and the sealing gaskets.
  • It is advisable to have your product inspected annually by an authorised SEAC center.
