USER MANUAL EX 5000 Orbegozo
Read this manual carefully before running this appliance and save it for reference in order to obtain the best results and ensure safe use.
Dear Customer, if you follow the recommendations contained in this Instruction Manual, our appliance will give you constant high performance and will remain efficient for many years to come. Read the operating instructions carefully before putting the appliance into operation and keep the instructions including the warranty, the receipt and, if possible, the box with the internal packing. If you give this device to other people, please also pass on the operating instructions.
General Safety Instructions
- This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved. Children must never play with the appliance. Cleaning and user maintenance must never be carried out by children without supervision.
- Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.

SPECIFIC SAFEGUARDS
- To disconnect, remove plug from wall outlet.
- Be careful not to get burned by the steam.

Do not touch hot surface. Use handles or knobs only.

Never use the appliance if the tank shows any signs of cracks. Only use the tank with this appliance. Use carefully as the tank is very fragile.
- Never use your coffee maker without water in it.
- Stand the appliance on a table or flat surface.

BEFORE THE FIRST USE
To ensure the first cup of coffee tastes excellent, you should rinse the coffee maker with warm water as follows:
- Pour water into water tank, the water level should not exceed the "MAX" mark in the tank. Then replace the water tank cover.
- Set steel mesh into metal funnel (no coffee powder in steel mesh).
- To place steel mesh into metal funnel you have to match the notch of steel mesh with notch of metal funnel (where the handle is). To remove steel mesh, do this same process.
- Place a jug on removable shelf. Make sure the function knob is on the “☐” position.
Note: The appliance is not equipped with jug, please use yourself jug or coffee cup.
- Plug the coffee maker to mains, press ON/OFF push-button, the heating indicator lamp (red) will light.
- When the coffee maker has warmed, ready indicator (white) will light, ensure heating button is not pushed "☐", turn function knob to "☐" position, water brews throw the metal funnel.
- When the cup is full, turn function knob to "☐" position to stop coffee maker, then you can pour out water of cup and clean it well. Now you can start to make coffee.
PRE-HEATING
To make a cup of good hot espresso coffee, we recommend you preheating the appliance before making coffee, including the funnel, filter and cup, so that the coffee flavour cannot be influenced by cold parts.
- Remove the detachable tank and open the tank cover to fill it with desired water, the water level should not exceed the "MAX" mark in the tank. Then place the tank into the appliance properly.
- Set steel mesh into metal funnel, make sure the tube on the funnel aligns with groove in the appliance, to set the metal funnel in coffee maker the handle should be to the left, push up until it fits and turn to right.
- Place the cup on warmer cup tray, to get warm.
- Plug the coffee maker to mains. Ensure function knob is on "☐" position.
- Push ON/OFF push-button, heating indicator (red) will light, ensure heating button is on higher position " "
- When ready indicator (white) lights, coffee maker will be ready to brew coffee.
MAKE AN ESPRESSO COFFEE
- Remove metal funnel turning to left. Add coffee powder to steel mesh with spoon, one spoonful of coffee powder is enough to make a cup of coffee. Well press the coffee in steel mesh with plane part of spoon.
- Place the metal funnel in the coffee maker, the handle should be to the left side, push upward until it fits and turn to right.
- Place the cup on drip place below metal funnel.
- When the ready indicator (white) lights, turn function knob to “ ” position, after few seconds the coffee will brew.
Note: when you use the coffee maker many times in a row, ready indicator (white) will turn off sometime; it means the temperature of boiler falls a little, wait for it warms again, to use it.
- When you get the desired quantity of coffee (30 ml for espresso and 60 ml for double espresso) turn the function knob to “☐” position for stopping it.
WARNING: do not let the coffee maker unattended while you are making coffee, because it is manual, the cup of coffee could overflow if you don't stop it on time.
- At the end of making coffee, turn the metal funnel to left taking it by handle, remove it from the coffee maker and empty the coffee powder of steel mesh. Use the press bar (in metal funnel handle) to avoid the filter falls when you are emptying the coffee powder.
- Push the ON/OFF push-button to turn off the coffee maker.
- Let it cooldown.
FROTHING MILK / MAKE CAPPUCCINO
You get a cup of cappuccino when you top up a cup of espresso with frothing milk.
Method:
- Prepare espresso first with container big enough according to the part "MAKE ESPRESSO COFFEE", make sure that the function knob is on "☐" position.
- Press the heating button "💡", wait for a moment until the ready indicator (white) lights.
- Fill a jug with about 150 grams of milk for each cappuccino to be prepared, you are recommended to use whole milk at refrigerator temperature (not hot!).
Note: for jug size, we recommend diameter not higher than 7 cm. for height, take into account when you froth the milk, its volume will be double, so take a jug which height is according the quantity of milk to froth.

Insert the froth device into the jug with milk (about 2 cm), then turn function knob to “💡” position, steam will start to come out. For frothing milk, move the jug up and down.

When you get the desired froth, stop steam function turning function knob to "☐" position.
Note: clean steam outlet with a sponge or damp cloth immediately after using, take care not to burn.
- Add frothed milk to espresso (prepared before), your cappuccino is ready. Sweeten to taste and, if you desire, sprinkle the froth with cocoa powder.
- Press ON/OFF push-button to switch off coffee maker.
Note: if you want to make another coffee, push heating button to "☐" position and turn the function knob to "☐" position.
Note: we recommend you let the coffee maker cooldown for 5 minutes before to make coffee again. Otherwise you could get espresso coffee with burnt odor.
HEAT LIQUIDS WITH STEAMER
Steam wand (with no froth device) can be used to heat liquids as drinking chocolate or water.
- Remove water tank and fill in without exceeding maximum level. Place water tank in coffee maker.
- Plug coffee maker to mains.
- Remove froth device.
- Press ON/OFF push-button, heating indicator (red) will light. Press heating button to " 🔊".
- When ready indicator (ready) lights, put steam wand into cup with water or liquid you want to heat, turn function knob to "💡" position.
- Steam starts to get out throw steam wand and it will heat the liquid. When it reaches desired temperature, turn function knob to "☐" position to stop steam function.
- Unplug coffee maker if you aren't going to use again.
CLEAN AND MAINTENANCE:

Cut off power source and let the coffee maker cool down completely before cleaning.

Clean housing of coffee maker with moisture-proof sponge often and clean water tank, drip tray and removable shelf regularly then dry them.
Note: Do not clean with alcohol or solvent cleanser. Never immerse the housing in water for cleaning.
- Detach the metal funnel through turn it anticlockwise, get rid of coffee residue inside, then you can clean it with cleanser, but at last you must rinse with clear water.
- Clean all the attachments in the water and dry thoroughly.
CLEANING MINERAL DEPOSITS
- To make sure your coffee maker operating efficiently, internal piping is cleanly and the peak flavor of coffee, you should clean away the mineral deposits left every 2-3 months.
- Fill the tank with water and softener to the MAX level (the scale of water and softener is 4:1; you can get more details from the user manual of the softener. Please make sure to use "household softener".
- Perform the process of making coffee without including coffee and expelling steam until all the water in the tank is exhausted.
- Repeat the previous step, filling the tank with water without softener.
TROUBLE SHOOTING

In the absence of coffee leakage after 10 seconds, stop the coffee maker and renew the coffee from the pot.
Do not take apart the appliance by yourself if the cause of failure is not found, you had better contact certified serving center.
