3. OPERATION

Recommendation

  • Both the glass lid and the ceramic bowl will reach very high temperatures during use. Use the appliance carefully and with gloves.
  • The slow cooker works by creating and accumulating heat and maintaining a stable temperature. For best results, do not remove the glass lid until at least halfway through the cooking process. The glass lid allows you to control the cooking process without interrupting it.

  • Place the ceramic bowl into the base of the cooker and make sure it is correctly positioned before continuing. Fig. 2

  • Place the ingredients in the ceramic bowl. Never put the ingredients directly in the cooker, always use the ceramic bowl. Fig. 3

It is recommended to fill the bowl 2/3, do not overfill.

  1. Place the glass lid on the ceramic bowl to cover the pot. Fig. 4
  2. Connect the product to the mains and select the desired power level. The power indicator will light up, and the cooker will start to operate. Fig. 5

Cooking settings

The cooker has 2 cooking powers:

  1. Low: allows ingredients to be simmered for long periods of time. It can also be used to keep the ingredients warm until you want to serve the food.
  2. High: used for roasting or cooking dried pulses. Cooks the ingredients in half the time as on low power. When using the slow cooker on high power, the cooking process may require a larger amount of water, depending on the type of recipe and cooking time. When cooking on high power, it is important to check the status of the cooking process regularly. The cooking time should vary between 4 and 8 hours.

Keep Warm function

This function keeps pre-cooked food at the ideal temperature until it is ready to be served. Do not attempt to cook food with this function.

Recommendations:

  • It is not recommended to use the product with the high temperature function for more than 4 hours.
  • When you finish using the slow cooker, disconnect it from the mains.
  • If the cooked food is not going to be served immediately, manually select the Keep Warm function.
  • In the event of a power failure, the device will turn off and the display will flash when it is turned on again. If it has been switched off for several hours, the food may not be in good condition, and it is not recommended to eat it.

Scheduling

The slow cooker can be programmed in such a way that it will start cooking at the desired time, allowing you to have freshly cooked food when you want it.

  1. Press repeatedly until the desired cooking power (high or low) or the Keep Warm function is selected.
  2. Use ∧ and ∨ to select the desired cooking time in 30-minute intervals, up to a maximum of 20 hours.
  3. If you want the cooking process to start immediately, press 📄 to confirm.
  4. If you want the cooker to start cooking at a specific time, hold ⚠️ until the word Delay appears on the display.
  5. Use the ∧ and ∨ buttons to select the delay time.
  6. Press to confirm.

Example

If you want to program a 6-hour cooking process, and you want it to start in 2 hours, first select 6:00 hours and then increase by 2 hours to the previously set time. The display will show the sum of these times, 8:00 hours.

Please note

Once the set cooking time has elapsed, the cooker will activate the Keep Warm function.

Slow cooking guide

This section is designed to help you adapt your favourite recipes to the slow cooker. Soups and stews are the most common recipes for this type of cooker. Most stews and meats cooked on low power give better results.

Important:

  • Allow enough time for cooking.
  • Do not add as much liquid as indicated in the original recipe, if following a recipe for conventional cooking pots. Generally, half the amount of liquids is required as compared to conventional cooking methods, as they do not evaporate in the same way. If there is too much liquid at the end of the cooking process, remove the lid and cook on high power until the excess liquid has evaporated.
  • Many of the steps in conventional recipes can be ignored, as the vegetables will not be overcooked, so you can put all the ingredients in the slow cooker at once. However, milk or cream should be added during the last hour of cooking.

Cooking time guide

Time of the recipeLow powerHigh power
15-30 min4-6 h1.5-2 hrs
35-45 min6-10 h3-4 h
50 min-3 hrs8-18 h4-6 h

These times are approximate and may vary depending on the ingredients and quantities.

Cooking meat and poultry

  • When preparing meat, always go for the finest cuts. Cut and remove any visible fat from meat fillets, as slow cooking produces liquid fat. Use skinless chicken if possible. For stew recipes, cut the meat into approximately 2.5 cm thick cubes.
  • Less tender meats are ideal for slow cookers because the slow cooking processes make them tender and tasty. The following table shows the types of meat cuts that are suitable.
MeatCut
BeefFlank, shank, round, sirloin, steaks for stew.
LambNeck, front shank, rack.
PorkHam, loin, chop.

Browning before cooking

  • Browning both meat and poultry before cooking in the slow cooker intensifies the flavour and produces more tasty results.
  • It also intensifies the flavour of other foods such as onions, peppers and leeks.
  • It may take a little longer to brown the food earlier, but the results are noticeably better. To brown them, use a non-stick frying pan. Use the minimum amount of oil. It is possible that if the food is not browned before cooking in the pan, it may be a little tasteless.

Roast

  • Roasting meat in the slow cooker makes it more tender, tasty and easier to slice. The long, slow and covered cooking processes cause the meat's nerves to break down, so the results of the meat dishes are very satisfactory.
  • It is not necessary to add liquids for roasting. When cooking braised meat, it is necessary to add a minimum of liquid. Place the meat to be grilled on a heat-resistant plate inside the pot so that the meat does not come into contact with the fat produced by the cooking process itself.

Cuts suitable for roasting

BeefShoulder, steak, hindquarter, sirloin, round.
LambLeg, tenderloin, shoulder.
PorkSirloin, neck, leg, ribs.

Cuts suitable for stewing

MeatCut
BeefShoulder, steak, lean, sirloin,
LambHindquarter, leg, shoulder.
PorkTenderloin, neck.

Cooking vegetables

  • One of the characteristics of slow cooking is that vegetables are generally cooked much more slowly than meat. Most vegetables should be cut into small pieces, placed close to the walls and as close as possible to the base of the ceramic bowl.
  • Place the meat on top of the vegetables. Carrots should be peeled and placed where they will be completely covered in liquid. Defrost the vegetables before adding them to the rest of the ingredients.

Pasta and rice

When cooking recipes with tagliatelle, macaroni, etc., cook the pasta until slightly tender and then place it in the slow cooker for the last 30 minutes of cooking time. When cooking rice, mix it with the rest of the ingredients and add 1/4 cup of liquid for every 1/4 cup of rice. Use long grain rice for best results.

Herbs and spices

Most commonly, whole leaves, herbs or spices are used. It is recommended to use half the indicated quantity, as they have a very strong flavour. When using dried or ground herbs or

spices, add them during the last hour of cooking. Always taste and season recipes before serving.

Milk and cream

Both milk and cream are often cut during long cooking processes. If possible, add these ingredients during the last hour of cooking.

4. CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

Recommendation:

Always disconnect the cooker from the mains before cleaning. Never immerse the cooker body, cord or plug in water or other liquids. Do not use abrasive cleaning agents.

Before cleaning:

  • Make sure that the cooker is switched off and disconnected from the mains.
  • Allow all parts of the pot to cool completely. To prevent damage to the glass lid or bowl, avoid extreme temperature changes, direct heat or sudden cooling.

Cleaning the ceramic bowl and glass lid

  • Remove the ceramic bowl and glass lid. Clean the ceramic bowl and glass lid with soap and warm water. Rinse and dry thoroughly.
  • To get rid of stubborn stains and food residues from the ceramic bowl, fill it 2/3 full of warm water with soap and leave it to soak. Rinse and dry well.
