SOMMAIRE

Before using the appliance, read the following instructions carefully. Keep this instruction manual for future reference or new users.

• This appliance is designed for domestic use only and is not intended for bars, restaurants, farmhouses, hotels, motels, and offices.
• Keep the device and its packaging materials out of the reach of children and unsupervised pets.
• Do not use the appliance in case of visible damage. If the cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the official Cecotec Technical Support Service to avoid any type of danger.
• Keep the appliance away from strong heat sources.
• Do not use the appliance outdoors.
• Do not expose the device to extreme temperatures, moist environments, or direct sunlight.
• Wide temperature variations could cause condensation. Should this be the case, wait until the appliance is at room temperature before switching it back on.
• Do not drop the device or jump on its measuring surface.
• Do not stand on the scale with wet feet and make sure the measuring surface and the surface underneath is dry.
• Supervise children to prevent them from playing with the appliance.

Instructions on batteries

- Do not burn or expose the batteries to high temperatures, as they may explode.

- Both batteries and cells can leak under extreme conditions. Should they leak, do not touch the liquid. If the liquid gets into contact with skin, wash immediately with soap and water. If the liquid gets into the eyes, wash them immediately with clean water for a minimum of 10 minutes and seek medical attention. Wear gloves when handling the battery or cells and dispose of it immediately in accordance with local regulations.

- Avoid contact between batteries/cells and small metal objects such as paper clips, coins, keys, nails, or screws.

- Do not tamper with batteries or cells in any way.

- Batteries must be removed for safe disposal.

- Keep batteries out of the reach of children when there is a risk of ingestion.

- Battery ingestion can cause burns, soft tissue perforation, and death. It can cause severe burns within two hours of the ingestion.

- In case of battery ingestion, please seek medical help immediately.

- The batteries' power supply terminals and the cells must not be short-circuited.

- If the device is to be stored for a long period of time, it is advisable to remove the batteries.

- Batteries and cells must be inserted in their correct position. Check polarity when replacing them.

- The Surface Precision 9100 and 9200 Healthy models use 2 x 1.5V AAA batteries (included) and the Surface Precision 9300 Healthy model uses 1 x 3V CR2032 battery (included).

Replacing the batteries

• Open the battery compartment at the bottom of the device.
• Insert the cells. Pay attention to polarity.

Close the battery compartment by sliding the cover. Make sure it fits properly.

2. BEFORE USE

• This appliance is packaged in a way as to protect it during transport. Take the appliance out of its box and remove all packaging materials. You can keep the original box and other packaging elements in a safe place. This will help you prevent damage to the appliance when transporting it in the future. In case the original packaging is disposed of, make sure all packaging materials are recycled accordingly.
• Make sure all parts and components are included and in good conditions. If any of them are missing or not in good condition, please contact Cecotec's official Technical Support Service immediately.

Select the desired unit of measurement by pressing the weighing unit switch button (kg, lb or st:lb).

3. OPERATION

- Place the scale on a solid, dry, flat surface (avoid carpets). Uneven floors lead to inaccurate measurement results.

ENGLISH

• Carefully stand on the scale. The display will turn on and show the weight automatically. Once the weight has stabilised, the display will flash to indicate the final weight.
• The scale will automatically switch off after a few seconds of inactivity.

The scale will display the following warnings:

• "Lo": the batteries of the scale are discharged. Replace the cells with new ones.
• "Err": overload, maximum weight exceeded. Step off the scale to avoid damaging the device.
• "C": An error has occurred during the weighing process. Get off the scale and stand on it again.

4. CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

• Never immerse the device in water or other liquids. Do not allow liquids of any kind to enter the appliance while you clean it.
• Never use caustic or abrasive cleaning agents to clean the appliance, as they may damage its surface.
• Clean the device with a slightly dampened, soft cloth and, if necessary, a mild cleaning agent.
• Store the scale in a clean, dry place, out of direct sunlight, and out of the reach of children when not in use.

6. DISPOSAL OF OLD ELECTRICAL AND ELECTRONIC APPLIANCES

This symbol indicates that, according to the applicable regulations, the product and/or batteries must be disposed of separately from household waste. When this product reaches the end of its shelf life, you should dispose of the cells/

batteries/accumulators and take them to a collection point designated by the local authorities. Consumers must contact their local authorities or retailer for information concerning the correct disposal of old machines and/or their batteries.

Compliance with the above guidelines will help protecting the environment.
