How to turn the laser level on and off?

To turn on, push the on/off switch (A) down; to turn off, push it up. Never point the beam at eyes.

How to install the batteries?

Make sure the tool is off. Remove the battery compartment cover (B) by turning counterclockwise. Insert 2 AA (LR6) batteries observing polarity. Replace the cover by turning clockwise.

What is the accuracy of this laser level?

The accuracy is ± 1 mm/m.

Can I use this tool on a tripod?

Yes, mount the tripod base (L) on a tripod with standard 1/4-20 UNC thread. Attach the leveling plate (H) to the tool using the alignment peg (J), then screw the assembly onto the tripod.

What to do if the laser beam is weak or does not turn on?

Replace the batteries with two new AA batteries. If the problem persists, contact a SKIL after-sales service center.

How to project a horizontal or vertical line?

Turn the adjustment knob (C) fully to the right for a horizontal line or to the left for a vertical line. Check that the bubble of the two spirit levels (F) is centered.

Is the tool waterproof?

No, protect the tool from moisture, dust and direct sunlight. Store it in its case after use.

How to clean the tool?

Remove the batteries before cleaning. Use a damp cloth to clean the exterior. Do not use harsh chemicals.

What is the laser class?

The laser is class 2 with power less than 1 mW. Never look directly into the beam and do not use optical instruments to observe it.

  For using the tool in combination with a tripod
• mount the tool on leveling plate H by using alignment pin J
• screw tripod base L onto a tripod with a standard threading of 1/4-20 UNC
• place tool with leveling plate onto tripod base L
  ! ensure that the tool is firmly fixed to the tripod base

  ! these glasses will not protect your eyes against laser radiation

• unfold the tripod
• adjust length of 3 legs with clips M
• adjust length of rod N with knob P
• first mount adapter Q to tripod base L, before mounting it to tripod
• ensure that the tripod base is firmly fixed to the tripod
• first level the tripod with handle R, knob S and level T, before leveling the tool itself
• use knob V for rotating the tripod base around its axis

MAINTENANCE / SERVICE

• Do not expose the tool to continuous vibration or extremely hot or cold temperatures
• Always store the tool indoors in its protective carton/ case
  Always keep the tool free of dust, moisture and direct sunlight
• Clean the tool with a damp cloth! always remove the batteries before cleaning the lens
• Do not disassemble or modify the tool in any way
• Do not attempt to change any part of the laser lens

• If the tool should fail despite the care taken in manufacturing and testing procedures, repair should be carried out by an after-sales service centre for SKIL power tools
