Frequently Asked Questions - WMR 928NX OREGON SCIENTIFIC
How to install the WMR 928NX weather station?
Place the console on a flat surface away from sunlight and moisture. Install the outdoor sensors sheltering them from the weather, the rain gauge on a stable support, the anemometer at height for optimal measurement. Turn on the console, then insert the batteries into the sensors. The radio link is established automatically within a few minutes.
How to replace the sensor batteries?
Open the battery compartment of each sensor by sliding the cover. Replace the AA or AAA alkaline batteries depending on the model, respecting the polarity. After replacement, the station may take a few minutes to find the signal again. Use good quality batteries to prevent leaks.
Why is the radio-controlled clock not synchronizing?
The clock receives the DCF-77 signal in Europe. If synchronization fails, make sure the console is not near electronic devices or thick walls. Place it near a window during the night. You can also enable manual synchronization in the Time setting menu.
How to interpret the weather icons?
The sunny, partly cloudy, cloudy, rainy, and snowy icons provide a simplified forecast based on atmospheric pressure. They are not as accurate as a real weather report. A rising or falling trend is indicated by arrows.
How to reset the WMR 928NX station?
To reset the console, remove the batteries and the power adapter, wait one minute, then reconnect. For the sensors, remove the batteries and reinsert them after 10 seconds. You can also use the RESET button located on the back of the console with a pin.
How to clean the rain gauge?
The rain gauge must be cleaned regularly to ensure accuracy. Remove the top cover by turning counterclockwise. Remove debris and dust from the rocker arm and the collection cone. Rinse with clean water and let it dry before putting it back in place.
What to do if the radio connection with a sensor is lost?
Check the range between the sensor and the console (100 m in open field). Replace the sensor batteries. Press the SCAN or RESET button on the sensor to re-pair it. Avoid sources of interference (cordless phones, microwave ovens).
How to set the alarms on the station?
Press ALARM to display the alarm time. Press and hold the ALARM button, then set the hours and minutes using the + and - buttons. Confirm with ALARM. Turn the alarm on or off by pressing this button briefly.
Does the console work with batteries or a power adapter?
The console can be powered by a 5 V power adapter (not included) or by 3 AAA batteries. With the adapter, the backlight is more powerful and the batteries are saved. It is recommended to use the adapter for continuous use.
How to view the minimum and maximum measurements?
Press the MEMORY button to display the recorded minimum and maximum values. Each press toggles the screen between min/max, and you can clear the memories by holding the button down for 2 seconds.
