Important warnings The vacuum cleaner must not be used for picking up hazardous materials - i.e. toxic dust, combustible or explosive materials, nor should it be used in an explosive atmosphere. Under no circumstances should the vacuum cleaner be used for picking up hot material. In particular the vacuum cleaner must not be used for cleaning open and closed fireplaces, ovens or similar that contain warm or glowing ashes. The vacuum cleaner must not be used for the suction of water, liquids or inflammable gases. This machine is for dry use only and shall not be used or stored outdoors in wet conditions. Store indoors between max. 60°C (degrees centigrade) and min. 0°C (degrees centigrade). The vacuum cleaner must not be used if the electrical cable or plug, show any sign of damage. Regularly inspect the cable and the plug for damage. If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by a special cord or assembly available from the manufacturer or its service agent. Do not handle the electrical cable or plug, with wet hands. Do not unplug by pulling on cable. To unplug, grasp the plug, not the cable. The plug must always be removed from the socket outlet before starting any service or maintenance work of the machine or the cable. The appliance is not intended for use by young children or infirm persons without supervision. Young children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance. No changes to the mechanical, electrical or thermal safety devices must be made. This machine is equipped with a thermal cut-out to protect the motor and other vital machine parts from overheating. Should the machine cut out, you will have to wait at least 5-10 minutes for it to automatically reset. While you are waiting, switch the machine off and unplug it, then check the hose, dust bag and filter to be sure that nothing is blocking the flow of air through the machine. The equipment meets the requirements in EN 61000-3-11, and connection to the public mains is possible following consultation with the power supplier. The equipment may only be connected to the mains with a network impedance that is below 0.41 ohm. Network impedance at the point of delivery can be obtained from the power supplier. If the mains has a higher network impedance, momentary drops in mains voltage may occur during start/operation of the equipment. This may also affect or disrupt the operation of other equipment, e.g. flashing lights, particularly equipment that is connected to the same service line. Maintenance Always keep the cleaner in a dry place. The cleaner is designed for continuous work. Depending on the number of running hours – the dust filters (dust bag, sackfilter and motor filter) should be renewed. A dust bag must be fitted in the machine if the vacuum cleaners sack filter is vacuumed. Keep the container clean with a dry cloth, and a small amount of spray polish. For details of after sales service contact Nilfisk-Alto directly. The size and quality of the dust bag and filters affect the machine efficiency. Use of non original dust bags or non original filters can cause restricted air flow which may lead to machine overload. Using non-original dust bag or filters will void the warranty. Only use this vacuum cleaner with the equipment and nozzles supplied with the cleaner. The use of other non original nozzles can impair security. In addition all warranty claims expire if a use of non original accessories occur. Recycling the vacuum cleaner As specified in European Directive 2002/96/EC on old electrical and electronic appliances, used electrical goods must be collected separately and recycled ecologically.
