How to clean the inside of the microwave?

How to use the grill function?

Drying of food or clothing and heating of pillows, shoes, sponges, wet clothes, and similar items may involve risk of injury, ignition, or fire.

- This microwave is not intended to be built-in or installed in furniture. It must be freely positioned ensuring the following separation distances:

- Top: at least 20 cm apart.

- Between the appliance and any adjacent wall: at least 5 cm.

- Rear: leave 10 cm of separation.

- Check the power cable regularly for visible damage. If the cable is damaged, it must be replaced by the official Cecotec Technical Support Service or by similarly qualified personnel to avoid hazards or injuries.

- Do not use the appliance if the cable or plug are damaged or if it doesn't work properly. If the cable is damaged, it must be replaced by the official Cecotec Technical Support Service to avoid any type of danger.

- You must be careful to ensure that the turntable does not shift when the containers are removed from the appliance.

- Only use utensils that are suitable for microwave use. Make sure utensils do not touch the interior walls during operation.

- Do not use the appliance for storage purposes.

- Do not attempt to fry food in the microwave.

- In order to reduce fire risk:

A Do not overcook food.
B Remove wire twist-ties from paper or plastic bags before placing them inside the microwave.
C The microwave should be watched when heating food in plastic or paper containers.

• In case of smoke or fire inside the appliance, keep the door closed, turn the appliance off, and unplug it from the power supply.
• Do not place hot or frozen food or utensils on the turntable to prevent breakage.
• After operation, the container is likely to be very hot. Use gloves to avoid burns and injuries.
• The appliance must be cleaned regularly, and you must remove any food remains. You must clean the door gaskets, cavities, and adjacent parts of the microwave as indicated in the cleaning and maintenance section.
• The appliance cannot be cleaned with steam.
• Failure to keep the microwave clean could lead to deterioration of the surface and could adversely affect the shelf life of the appliance and cause hazards.
• This appliance can be used by children aged 8 years and above and people with reduced physical, sensory, or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved. Children must not play with the appliance. Cleaning and user maintenance should not be carried out by children unless they are over 8 years of age and under supervision. Keep this appliance and its power cable out of reach of children under the age of 8.
• This appliance is a Group 2 Class B ISM equipment. The

definition of Group 2 which contains all ISM (Industrial, Scientific and Medical) equipment in which radio-frequency energy is intentionally generated and/or used in the form of electromagnetic radiation for the treatment of material, and spark erosion equipment. Class B equipment is suitable for domestic use and in establishments directly connected to a low voltage power supply network, which supplies buildings used for domestic purpose.

2. BEFORE USE

• This appliance is packaged in a way as to protect it during transport. Take the appliance out of its box and remove all packaging materials. You can keep the original box and other packaging elements in a safe place to prevent damage to the device if you need to transport it in the future. In case the original packaging is disposed of, make sure all packaging materials are recycled accordingly.
• Make sure all parts and components are included and in good conditions. If there is any piece missing or in bad conditions, contact the official Cecotec Technical Support Service immediately.
• Use a damp cloth to clean the inside of the appliance and the removable parts. Make sure that all parts are dry before using the appliance.
• Make sure the appliance is switched off before connecting it to a wall outlet.
• Make sure to close the microwave door for proper operation.
• The appliance must be placed in such way that the plug is accessible, and the socket must be properly earthed to avoid electric shocks.
• In case there are any manufacturing remains in the microwave cavity or on the heating elements, leave the microwave open to ensure good ventilation. In such case, it is recommended to heat a glass of water at high power for several times.
• Check that the appliance is not damaged, that the door is not misaligned or bent, that the door seals are in good condition, that the hinges are not broken or loose, and that there are no dents on the inside or on the door. If any damage is observed, stop using the appliance and contact the official Cecotec Technical Support Service immediately.

3. OPERATION

The microwave panel has 2 knobs:

Power knob

Select from 9 settings: 5 microwave power levels, 1 grill function setting, and 3 combinations. The different microwave power levels are as follows:

Low: 18% power

Defrost: 36% power

Medium: 58% power

Medium-high: 81% power

High: 100% power

Timer knob

The cooking or heating time can be programmed from 1 to 30 minutes. Turn the knob clockwise to increase the cooking time. You can turn the knob at any time to increase or decrease the operating time or to stop the microwave.

Using the microwave

• Plug the appliance to a power supply. (Before plugging it in, make sure the timer is set to the off position).
• Place the food to be cooked or heated inside the microwave and close the door.
• Turn the Power knob to select the desired heating power:
• Turn the Timer knob clockwise to select the desired operating time. The microwave will start working when the timer is set.
• To stop the microwave during the heating or cooking process before the set time, turn the timer knob to the Off position and open the door.
• When you have finished using the microwave, make sure that Timer knob is in the off position.

Note:

When selecting less than 2 minutes of operation, turn the timer knob past 2 minutes and then back to select the desired time.

Grill cooking

Turn the knob clockwise past the maximum microwave power setting and select the grill function. This function is ideal for cooking steaks, entrecôte, sausages, or breast fillets.

4. TIPS

• Placing the food: place the thickest parts of the food towards the edge of the turntable. Try to avoid overlapping food.
• Watch the cooking time: cook for the shortest amount of time at first, and add more minutes if necessary. Excessive heating of food can lead to smoking or burning.
• Cover food while cooking: covering the food you are going to cook avoids spattering and allows for a more even cooking.
• Turn or stir food 1 time during the cooking process (e.g., hamburgers or steaks).
• Follow the recommended pre-heating time. Pre-heating time specified on the food label must not be exceeded.
• Switch the food in the middle of the process, e.g., place the meatballs first on top and then on the bottom, and the meatballs on the outside to the inside and vice versa.
• The use of round or oval plates is recommended rather than square plates, as the food in corners tends to overcook.
• It is important to use materials and containers which are suitable and safe for microwave cooking. The table below shows which materials are suitable and which are not:

5. CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

Warning

• The appliance, as well as food remains, must be cleaned and removed regularly. Lack of maintenance of the microwave may affect the mica plate and could damage the microwave.
• Disconnect the power cable from the wall socket before cleaning. Do not immerse the appliance in water or any other liquid during cleaning.
• Failure to maintain the appliance in clean conditions could lead to surface deterioration and adversely affect shelf life.
• Never use strong detergents, petrol, abrasive powders, or a metal brush to clean any part of the appliance.
• It is necessary to occasionally remove the turntable for cleaning. Clean the turntable with warm soapy water or in the dishwasher.
• Keep the inside of the appliance clean. Wipe up splashes or spilled liquids with a damp cloth. A mild detergent can be used if necessary. Do not use sprays.
• Do not remove the waveguide cover.

• When the microwave has been used for a long time, some strong odours may arise from inside. To get rid of them, follow one of the steps below:

• Place several lemon slices in a cup and heat them at high power for 2 or 3 minutes.

• Place a glass of red tea inside the microwave and heat it on high power.

• Place orange peels inside the microwave and heat them at high power for 1 minute.

• Use a soft, damp cloth to clean the gaskets, door, interior walls, and turntable. Do not allow water to enter the appliance through the ventilation openings.

• Use a dry cloth to clean the control panel.
• Clean the turntable ring and the base of the microwave periodically to prevent the appliance from making noise. Clean the microwave base with a cloth and mild detergent. The turntable ring can be washed in soapy water or in the dishwasher. After disassembling the ring, make sure you properly put it back in position.
