Frequently Asked Questions - Bolero Flux Drt 358000 A CECOTEC

How to install the Cecotec Bolero Flux Drt 358000 A hood?
Follow the instructions in the manual: attach the wall bracket, connect the exhaust duct (Ø 150 mm) or install the charcoal filter for recirculation. Plug the appliance into a 230 V socket. Check the safety distances (min. 65 cm above the hob).
How to clean the grease filters?
The aluminum grease filters are dishwasher-safe (cycle at max 65°C). You can also clean them by hand with warm soapy water. Dry them well before putting them back.
When should the charcoal filter be replaced?
The activated charcoal filter must be replaced every 3 to 6 months depending on use. A saturation indicator on the control panel reminds you when to change it.
Why doesn't the hood turn on?
Check that the appliance is plugged in and the circuit breaker hasn't tripped. If the remote doesn't work, replace the battery (CR2025) and point it at the infrared sensor.
How to use the remote control?
The infrared remote control allows you to turn on/off, adjust speed and activate the timer. Maximum range: 5 meters. Keep the line of sight clear.
The hood makes noise, is that normal?
The noise level ranges from 45 to 65 dB depending on the speed. In intensive speed, the noise is louder. If an abnormal noise appears, check that the filters are properly in place and nothing is blocking the motor.
Can the hood be used without external evacuation?
Yes, in recirculation mode: install the supplied charcoal filter. The vapors are filtered then returned to the kitchen. Remember to ventilate regularly.
How to set the timer?
Press the Timer button (clock): the hood will stop automatically after 5 minutes. You can extend up to 15 minutes by pressing multiple times.
What to do if the LED lighting no longer works?
The LED bulbs are integrated and not individually replaceable. Contact Cecotec after-sales service for replacement under warranty or repair.
Where to find spare parts like filters?
Grease and charcoal filters are available on the Cecotec website or from authorized dealers. References: grease filter (ref. 35800) and charcoal filter (ref. 35801).

3. INSTALLATION

Figure 2 shows the hood dimensions. Use these to ensure correct installation according to your specific model.

External ventilation

"V" flap assembly

If the hood does not have the "V" flap assembled, you must fit the parts to body 1.

Figure 3 shows only an example of "V" flap assembly, as the outlet may vary according to different models and configurations.

To mount the "V" flap:

  • Mount both halves 2 to body 6.
  • Ensure pin 3 is pointing upwards.
  • Insert shaft 4 into holes 5 on the body.
  • Repeat all operations for the second half.

For external exhaust, the hood can be connected as shown in figure 4 using an extraction duct (enamel, aluminium, flexible pipe or non-flammable material with an internal diameter of 120/150 mm).

  1. Before installation, switch off the appliance and disconnect it from the power socket.
  2. The hood should be placed 65\~75 cm above the cooking surface for best effect. Fig. 5.
  3. Drill 3 ∅8 mm holes in a suitable place on the wall once the installation height has been set.
  4. Place the dowels in the holes, screw the 2 ST4*30 mm screws halfway into the dowels to fix the hood body. Fig. 6.
  5. Install the "V" damper and expansion pipe in the hood and secure the expansion pipe with a flange. Fig. 7
  6. Hang the hood on the screws and then fix the body with 1 ST4*30 mm security screw. Fig. 8

Note: Two safety ventilation grilles are positioned on the rear housing, with 6 mm diameter.

  1. Bring the expansion pipe to the outside. Fig. 9

Extraction duct installation tips

The following rules must be strictly followed for optimal air extraction:

  • Keep the expansion pipe short and straight.
  • Do not reduce the size or restrict the expansion pipe.
  • When using the expansion pipe, always install it taut to minimise pressure loss.
  • Failure to follow these basic instructions will reduce performance and increase hood noise levels.
  • Any installation work must be carried out by a qualified electrician or competent person.
  • Do not connect the hood's ducting system to any existing ventilation system used for another appliance, such as heating, gas or hot air tube.
  • The expansion pipe bend angle should not be less than 120^ ; pipe should be directed horizontally, or alternatively, pipe should rise from the initial point and be directed to an external wall.

  • After installation, ensure the hood is level to prevent grease collection at one end.

  • Ensure the expansion pipe selected for installation complies with relevant standards and is fire-retardant.

WARNING:

  • For safety reasons, use only the fixing/mounting screw size recommended in this instruction manual.
  • Failure to install screws or fixing devices in accordance with these instructions may result in electrical hazards.
