1 BEFORE USING THE APPLIANCE

1.1 General warnings

- If your appliance uses R600a as a refrigerant (this information will be provided on the label of the cooler) you should take care during transportation and installation to prevent the cooler elements

1.1.1 Old and out-of-order fridge-/freezers

• If your old fridge/freezer has a lock, break or remove the lock before discarding it, because children may get trapped inside it and may cause an accident.
• Old fridges and freezers may contain insulation material and refrigerant with CFC or HFC. Therefore, take care not to harm the environment when you are discarding your old fridge/freezer.

Please ask your municipal authority about the disposal of the WEEE for reuse, recycling, and recovery purposes.

1.2 Safety warnings

• Do not connect your fridge/freezer to the mains electricity supply using an extension lead.
• Do not plug in damaged, torn, or old plugs.
• Do not pull, bend, or damage the cord.

• This appliance is designed for use by adults; do not allow children to play with the appliance or let them hang off the door.
• Never touch the power cord/plug with wet hands as this could cause a short circuit or electric shock.
• Do not place glass bottles or beverage cans in the freezer compartment as they can burst when the contents freeze.
• Do not place explosive or flammable material in your fridge. Place drinks with high alcohol content vertically in the fridge compartment and make sure that their tops are tightly closed.
• When removing ice from the freezer compartment, do not touch it. Ice can cause frost burns and/or cuts.
• Do not touch frozen goods with wet hands! Do not eat ice-cream and ice cubes

immediately after you have taken them out of the freezer department!

- Do not cover the body or top of fridge-/freezer with lace. This affects the performance of your fridge-/freezer.

- Secure any accessories in the fridge-/freezer during transportation to prevent damage to the accessories.

- Do not use plug adapter.

1.3 Installing and operating your fridge-/freezer

Before starting to use your fridge-/freezer, you should pay attention to the following points:

- The operating voltage for your fridge-/freezer is 220-240 V at 50Hz.

- The plug must be accessible after installation.

- Your fridge-/freezer may have a smell when it is operated for the first time. This is normal and the smell will fade away when your fridge-/freezer starts to cool.

- Before connecting your fridge-/freezer, ensure that the information on the data plate (voltage and connected load) matches that of the mains electricity supply. If in doubt, consult a qualified electrician.

- Insert the plug into a socket with an efficient ground connection. If the socket has no ground contact or the plug does not match, we recommend that you consult a qualified electrician for assistance.

- The appliance must be connected with a properly installed fused socket. Power supply (AC) and voltage at the operating point must match with the details on the name plate of the appliance (name plate is located on the inside left of the appliance).

- We do not accept responsibility for any damages that occur due to ungrounded usage.

- Place your fridge/freezer where it will not be exposed to direct sunlight.

- Your fridge/freezer should never be used outdoors or exposed to rain.

- Your appliance should be at least 50 cm away from stoves, gas ovens and heater cores, and at least 5 cm away from electrical ovens.

- When your fridge/freezer is placed next to a deep freezer, there should be at least 2 cm between them to prevent humidity forming on the outer surface.

- Do not place heavy items on the appliance.

- Clean the appliance thoroughly, especially the interior, before use (see Cleaning and Maintenance).

- The installation procedure into the kitchen unit is given in the installation manual. This product is intended to be used in proper kitchen units only.

- Before using your fridge/freezer, wipe all parts with a solution of warm water and a teaspoon of sodium bicarbonate, then rinse with clean water and dry. Place all parts in

the fridge/freezer after cleaning.

- Install the plastic distance guide (the part with black vanes at the rear) by turning it 90 degrees (as shown in the figure) to prevent the condenser from touching the wall.

- The refrigerator should be placed against a wall with a free space not exceeding 75 mm.

1.3.1 Before using your fridge/freezer

- When using your fridge/freezer for the first time, or after transportation, keep it in an upright position for at least 3 hours before plugging into the mains. This allows efficient operation and prevents damage to the compressor.

1.4 Information about New Generation Cooling Technology

Fridge/freezers with new generation cooling technology have a different working system than static fridge/freezers. In normal fridge/freezers, humid air that enters into the refrigerator and the water vapor that comes out from the foods accumulates frost formation in the freezer compartment. In order to melt this frost, in other words defrost, the fridge/freezer has to be stopped. During the stopping period, to keep the foods cold, the user has to extract the food to outside of the fridge/freezer and the user has to clear the ice during this period.

In the fridge/freezers with new generation cooling technology, the situation in the freezer compartment is completely different. With the aid of a fan, cold and dry air is blown out through many points into the freezer compartment. As a result of the homogeneously blown cold air, even in the spaces between shelves, foods are frozen equally and correctly. On the other hand, there will be no frost formation.

In the refrigerator compartment, there will be nearly the same configuration as the freezer compartment. Air that is emitted with the fan, located at the top of the refrigerator compartment, is cooled while passing through the gap behind the air duct. At the same time, air is blown out through the holes on the air duct so that the cooling process is successfully completed in the

refrigerator compartment. Holes on the air duct are designed such that the air distribution becomes homogeneous in this compartment.

As there is no air passage between the freezer and refrigerator compartments, there will be no odor mixing.

As a result of these, your fridge/freezer with new generation cooling technology gives you ease of use beside the huge volume and aesthetic appearance.

2 HOW TO OPERATE THE APPLIANCE

2.2 Operating your fridge/freezer

Lighting

When the product is plugged in for the first time, the interior lights may turn on 1 minute late due to opening tests.

2.2.1 Temperature Set Button

This button allows setting the temperature of the fridge and freezer. In order to set values for the fridge and freezer partitions, press this button.

2.2.2 Temperature Settings

• Every time you press the button, the setting temperature will decrease.
• Settings display and you do not press any button within the following 3 seconds.

2.2.3 Super Freeze Mode

When would it be used?

• To freeze huge quantities of food. • To freeze fast food. • To freeze food quickly. • To store seasonal food for a long time.

2.2.4 Super Cooling Mode

When would it be used?

• To cool huge quantities of food. • To cool fast food. • To cool food quickly. • To store seasonal food for a long time.

How to use?

• Hold down the temperature set button for 5 seconds to activate super mode when set to MAX.
• All lights will be lit constantly.

During this mode:

If you hold down the set button for 5 seconds, super mode will be deactivated.

The super mode will be cancelled automatically after a maximum of 48 hours.

Note: Some appliances may have a stand-by mode.

2.2.5 Stand-By Mode

How to Activate?

Hold down the set button for 5 seconds when it is set for "Min". All LEDs will blink three times. How It Works?

In stand-by mode, all components will be disabled. If the user pushes the set button while in stand-by mode, all LEDs will blink three times to show that stand-by mode is active.

How To Deactivate?

Push and hold the set button until the display returns to normal working.

2.2.6 Door Open Alarm Function

If the refrigerator door is left open for more than 2 minutes, the interior lighting (if available) will start flashing.

2.3 Warnings about temperature adjustments

• It is not recommended that you operate your fridge/freezer in environments colder than 16°C in terms of its efficiency.
• Temperature adjustments should be made according to the frequency of door openings and the quantity of food kept inside the fridge/freezer.
• Your fridge/freezer should be operated up to 24 hours according to the ambient temperature without interruption after being plugged in to be completely cooled. Do not open the doors of your fridge/freezer frequently and do not place much food inside it in this period.
• A 5-minute delaying function is applied to prevent damage to the compressor of your fridge/freezer when you take the plug out and then plug it in again to operate it or when an energy breakdown occurs. Your fridge/freezer will start to operate normally after 5 minutes.
• Your fridge/freezer is designed to operate in the ambient temperature intervals stated in the standards, according to the climate class stated in the information label. We do not recommend operating your fridge/freezer out of the stated temperature value limits in terms of cooling effectiveness.
• This appliance is designed for use at an ambient temperature within the 16°C - 43°C range.

Climate class and meaning:

T (tropical): This refrigerating appliance is intended to be used at ambient temperatures ranging from 16 °C to 43 °C.

ST (subtropical): This refrigerating appliance is intended to be used at ambient temperatures ranging from 16 °C to 38 °C.

N (temperate): This refrigerating appliance is intended to be used at ambient temperatures ranging from 16 °C to 32 °C.

SN (extended temperate): This refrigerating appliance is intended to be used at ambient temperatures ranging from 10 °C to 32 °C.

2.4 Accessories

2.4.1 Ice tray

• Fill the ice tray with water and place in the freezer compartment. After the water has completely turned into ice, you can twist the tray as shown below to get the ice cubes.

2.4.2 Bottle holder (only on some models)

To prevent bottles from slipping or falling over, you can use the bottle holder. This also helps to reduce noise from bottles when opening or closing the door.

3 FOOD STORAGE IN THE APPLIANCE

3.1 Refrigerator Compartment

• To reduce humidity and avoid the consequent formation of frost, always store liquids in sealed containers in the refrigerator. Frost tends to concentrate in the coldest parts of the evaporating liquid and, over time, your appliance will require more frequent defrosting.
• Cooked dishes must remain covered when kept in the fridge. Do not place warm foods in the fridge. Place them when they are cool; otherwise, the temperature and humidity inside the fridge will increase, reducing the fridge's efficiency.
• Make sure no items are in direct contact with the rear wall of the appliance, as frost will develop and packaging will stick to it. Do not open the refrigerator door frequently.
• We recommend that meat and fresh fish are loosely wrapped and stored on the glass shelf just above the vegetable bin where the air is cooler, as this provides the best storage conditions.
• Store loose fruit and vegetable items in the crisper containers.
• Storing fruit and vegetables separately helps prevent ethylene-sensitive vegetables (green leaves, broccoli, carrot, etc.) being affected by ethylene-releaser fruits (banana, peach, apricot, fig etc.).
• Do not put wet vegetables into the refrigerator.
• Storage time for all food products depends on the initial quality of the food and an uninterrupted refrigeration cycle before refrigerator storage.
• Water leaking from meat may contaminate other products in the refrigerator. You should package meat products and clean any leakages on the shelves.
• Do not put food in front of the air flow passage.
• Consume packaged foods before the recommended expiry date.

Do not allow food to come into contact with the temperature sensor, which is located in the refrigerator compartment, in order to keep the refrigerator compartment at optimum temperature.

• For normal working conditions, it will be sufficient to adjust the temperature setting of your refrigerator to +4°C.
• The temperature of the fridge compartment should be in the range of 0-8 °C, fresh foods below 0 °C are iced and rotted, bacterial load increases above 8 °C, and spoils.
• Do not put hot food in the refrigerator immediately, wait for the temperature to pass outside. Hot foods increase the degree of your refrigerator and cause food poisoning and unnecessary spoiling of the food.
• Meat, fish, etc. should be store in the chiller compartment of the food, and the vegetable compartment is preferred for vegetables. (if available)
• To prevent cross contamination, meat products and fruit vegetables are not stored together.
• Foods should be placed in the refrigerator in closed containers or covered to prevent moisture and odors.

3.2 Freezer Compartment

• The freezer is used for storing frozen food, freezing fresh food, and making ice cubes.
• Food in liquid form should be frozen in plastic cups and other food should be frozen in plastic folios or bags. For freezing fresh food; wrap and seal fresh food properly, that is the packaging should be air tight and shouldn't leak. Special freezer bags, aluminum foil polythene bags and plastic containers are ideal.
• Do not store fresh food next to frozen food as it can thaw the frozen food.
• Before freezing fresh food, divide it into portions that can be consumed in one sitting.
• Consume thawed frozen food within a short period of time after defrosting
• Always follow the manufacturer's instructions on food packaging when storing frozen food. If no information is provided, food should not be stored for more than 3 months from the date of purchase.
• When purchasing frozen food, make sure that it has been stored under appropriate conditions and that the packaging is not damaged.
• Frozen food should be transported in appropriate containers and placed in the freezer as soon as possible.
• Do not purchase frozen food if the packaging shows signs of humidity and abnormal swelling. It is probable that it has been stored at an unsuitable temperature and that the contents have deteriorated.
• The storage life of frozen food depends on the room temperature, the thermostat setting, how often the door is opened, the type of food, and the length of time required to transport the product from the shop to your home. Always follow the instructions printed on the packaging and never exceed the maximum storage life indicated.
• If the freezer door has been left open for a long time or not closed properly, frost will form and can prevent efficient air circulation. To resolve this, unplug the freezer and wait for it to defrost. Clean the freezer once it has fully defrosted.
• The freezer volume stated on the label is the volume without baskets, covers, and so on.
• Do not refreeze thawed food. It may pose a danger to your health and cause problems such as food poisoning.

NOTE: If you attempt to open the freezer door immediately after closing it, you will find that it will not open easily. This is normal. Once equilibrium has been reached, the door will open easily.

4 CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

Disconnect the unit from the power supply before cleaning.

Do not clean the appliance by pouring water on it.

• Make sure that no water enters the lamp housing and other electrical components.
• The refrigerator should be cleaned periodically using a solution of bicarbonate of soda and lukewarm water.

- Clean the accessories separately with soap and water. Do not clean them in the dishwasher.

Do not use abrasive products, detergents or soaps. After washing, rinse with clean water and dry carefully. When you have finished cleaning, connect the plug to the mains supply with dry hands.

- Clean the condenser with a broom at least twice a year. This will help you to save on energy costs and increase productivity.

THE POWER SUPPLY MUST BE DISCONNECTED.

4.1 Defrosting

Your fridge/freezer has fully automatic defrosting. The water formed as a result of defrosting passes through the water collection spout, flows into the vaporisation container below the condenser and evaporates there.

4.2 Replacing LED lighting

If your refrigerator has LED lighting, contact the help desk as this should be changed by authorized personnel only.

5 TRANSPORTATION AND CHANGING OF INSTALLATION POSITION

5.1 Transportation

- The original packages and foamed polystyrene (PS) can be retained if required. - During transportation, the appliance should be secured with a wide string or a strong

rope. The instructions written on the corrugated box must be followed while transporting.

- Before transporting or changing the installation position, all the moving objects (i.e., shelves, crisper, etc.) should be taken out or fixed with bands in order to prevent them from getting damaged.

! Carry your fridge/freezer in the upright position.

5.2 Repositioning the door

- It is possible to change the opening direction of the unit's doors. - Follow the instructions on page 118.

6 BEFORE CALLING FOR AFTER SALES SERVICE

If your fridge-/freezer is not working properly, it may be a minor problem, therefore check the following.

The appliance does not operate,

Check if;

• There is no power,
• The general switch in your home is disconnected,
• The socket is not faulty. To check this, plug the appliance in to another socket which you know is working.

What to do if your appliance performs poorly

Check that:

• You have overloaded the appliance,
• The thermostat setting is on position "1" (if so set the thermostat dial to a suitable value). • The doors are closed properly, • There is no dust on the condenser,
• There is enough space at the rear and side walls.

Normal Noises;

Cracking (Ice cracking) Noise:

• During automatic defrosting. - When the appliance is cooled or warmed (due to expansion of appliance material).

Short cracking: Heard when the thermostat switches the compressor on/off.

Compressor noise (Normal motor noise): This noise means that the compressor operates normally. The compressor may cause more noise for a short time when it is activated.

Bubbling noise and splash: This noise is caused by the flow of the refrigerant in the tubes of the system.

Water flow noise: Normal flow noise of water flowing to the evaporation container during defrosting. This noise can be heard during defrosting.

Air blowing noise (Normal fan noise): This noise can be heard in NoFrost refrigerators during normal operation of the system due to the circulation of air.

If there is water in the lower part of the refrigerator:

Check if:

The drain hole for defrost water is not clogged (use defrost drain plug to clean the drain hole).

Important notes:

• In case of a sudden power loss or disconnecting and reconnecting of the plug to the electrical socket, the compressor protective thermal element will be opened as the pressure of the gas in the cooling system of your refrigerator has not yet been balanced. 4 or 5 minutes later, your fridge/freezer will start to operate; this is normal.
• If you won't be using your fridge/freezer for a long time (such as on summer holidays), please disconnect the plug from the socket. Clean your fridge/freezer as per Part 4 of this document and leave the door open to prevent any humidification or odor formation.

If there is still a problem with your fridge/freezer although you have followed the instructions in this book, please consult your nearest authorized service center.

6.1 Tips for saving energy

1. Install the appliance in a cool, well-ventilated room, but not in direct sunlight and not near a heat source (radiator, cooker, etc.). Otherwise, use an insulating plate.
2. Allow warm food and drinks to cool down outside the appliance.
3. When thawing frozen food, place it in the refrigerator compartment. The low temperature of the frozen food will help to cool the refrigerator compartment when it is thawing. This will help to save energy. If the frozen food is put out, it results in a waste of energy.
4. Cover drinks or other liquids when placing them in the appliance. Otherwise, humidity increases in the appliance. Therefore, the working time gets longer. Also, covering drinks and other liquids helps to preserve smell and taste.
5. Try to avoid keeping the doors open for long periods or opening the doors too frequently, as warm air will enter the cabinet and cause the compressor to switch on unnecessarily often.
6. Keep the covers of the different temperature compartments (crisper, chiller, etc.) closed.
7. Door gasket must be clean and pliable. Replace gaskets if worn.
8. Energy consumption of your appliance is declared without drawers and fully loaded in freezer compartment.
9. For saving energy, do not use the volume between the load limit and the door, along the load limit line. The load limit line is also used in the energy consumption declaration.
