How to descale my SENSEO VIVA CAFE machine?
To descale, mix 50 g of citric acid with 1 L of water. Fill the tank, place a used pod in the one-cup pod holder, then press the 1 cup and 2 cup buttons simultaneously to start the cycle. Perform two descaling cycles and two rinsing cycles with fresh water. Never interrupt the cycle.
What to do if the machine does not produce enough coffee?
Check that the pod holder sieve is not clogged. Clean it under the tap. If the problem persists, descale the machine. Also ensure the water tank is filled above the MIN level.
Why is the CALC light flashing?
The CALC light flashes to indicate a descaling cycle is in progress. If you did not start it, press the on/off button to turn off the machine. If you started descaling, do not interrupt it.
Can I use regular ground coffee or non-SENSEO pods?
No, only use SENSEO pods specifically designed by Maison du Café. Regular ground coffee or torn pods may clog the machine.
Why is my coffee not hot enough?
Use cups with a minimum capacity of 150 ml. Cups that are too large cool the coffee. You can also preheat the cups with hot water before brewing.
How to clean the coffee flow unit?
Disassemble the flow unit after removing the coffee receiver. Wash it with hot water and a little dish soap or in the dishwasher. Make sure it is dry before reassembling.
What to do if the lid does not open?
A vacuum may have formed under the lid. Turn off the machine and wait 24 hours before trying to open. Do not force it and do not put the machine in the refrigerator.
