Installation instructions
This conversion kit is designed to direct air back into the room in which the cooker hood is installed. If you want the air to be directed to the outside and your dwelling has a heating appliance that relies on air in the room for combustion, extreme caution is required.
Danger of poisoning by toxic fumes.
It is essential to observe the warning and safety instructions in the instruction manual for your cooker hood and that you comply with appropriate health and safety and buildings regulations. If in any doubt, please seek the advice of an expert in this field.
This conversion kit is intended for use in domestic households and similar working and residential environments. It must only be used as a domestic appliance to extract vapours and remove odours from cooking.
Any other usage is not supported by the manufacturer and could be dangerous.
It must only be used for converting a Miele cooker hood to recirculation mode. ▶ Please observe the instructions given in this manual with regards to cleaning and reactivating charcoal filters.
This charcoal filter must not be cleaned in a dishwasher!
Residual detergent can get into the filter if cleaned in a dishwasher. High oven temperatures used in subsequent reactivation in an oven can lead to these detergent residues self-igniting.
Description of functions

Air is drawn in and passed through a grease filter in the cooker hood to clean it. It is then directed into the recirculation box where it passes through a reactivatable charcoal filter ② where it undergoes further cleaning before being directed through a ventilation grille ① back into the kitchen.
The cooker must be suitable for recirculation mode. Please observe the operating instruction manual supplied with the cooker hood.
Recirculation mode will only function correctly with a charcoal filter in place.
The recirculation box can be installed in a position of your choice in the kitchen. The cooker hood and the recirculation box are joined by extraction ducting. The air can be directed out of the recirculation box via the exit ③ to the right or left hand side of the recirculation box, or out through the back of it.
Charcoal filters and a non-return flap are not fitted in the cooker hood. Please see the installation instructions supplied with the cooker hood for instructions on how to install it.

You can connect multiple recirculation boxes to one another. This improves odour reduction performance, boosts the air flow rate, and results in a lower flow velocity at the recirculation grilles.
Installation
The recirculation box is suitable for installation in small spaces such as the plinth area of the kitchen. It can also be installed in other places if you prefer. When choosing where to install it check the direction of airflow and that it can flow unhindered out of the recirculation box. It must not be directed towards the ceiling or a wall. It should also not be directed towards areas in which people congregate.
■ Please observe the illustrations with regard to building-in dimensions and installation at the end of these operating and installation instructions.
Ducting
The recirculation box has a connector measuring 222 x 89 mm.
Flat ducting components are available as accessories for connecting the extractor to the recirculation box, and for connecting multiple recirculation boxes to one another.
Use smooth or flexible ducting made from suitable non-flammable materials for the extraction ducting used between the cooker hood and the recirculation box.
■ When laying the ducting, please observe the information in the operating and installation instructions for your cooker hood.

Place the charcoal filter on the rack in the centre of the oven compartment. ■ Switch the oven on, or the oven function of your steam combination oven on, and select: Fan plus 200 °C.
Odours may arise during reactivation.
