Frequently Asked Questions - DPMX-1216 MP Eurolite

How do I address the DMX channels on the Eurolite DPMX-1216 MP?
Set the DMX start address using the DIP switches on the rear panel. Each channel corresponds to consecutive addresses (e.g., if start address is 1, channels 1-16 use addresses 1-16). Refer to the manual for exact DIP switch settings.
What is the maximum load per channel?
Each channel can handle up to 10 A (2300 W) at 230 V AC. Do not exceed this limit to avoid damage.
Can I use this dimmer with LED fixtures?
Yes, the DPMX-1216 MP is suitable for resistive and inductive loads, including most LED lights. However, ensure the total load per channel does not exceed the rating and use appropriate dimming curves if needed.
What type of DMX connector does it use?
It uses 5-pin XLR connectors for DMX input and output. An optional 3-pin adapter may be used but is not included.
How do I replace a blown fuse?
Disconnect the device from mains. Locate the fuse holder near the power inlet. Use a screwdriver to open it and replace the fuse with one of identical rating (usually 10 A slow-blow). Reconnect and power on.
The dimmer is not responding to DMX control. What should I check?
Verify the DMX cable connections and ensure the controller is sending data. Check that the DMX start address is set correctly and not conflicting with other devices. Also, check the terminator switch if applicable.
Is the dimmer rack-mountable?
Yes, it is designed for 19-inch rack mounting and occupies 2U of rack space. Use proper mounting screws to secure it.
What is the total power consumption of the dimmer itself (without loads)?
The dimmer consumes approximately 50 W for its internal electronics and fans. This does not include the power drawn by connected lights.
Can I use the dimmer outdoors?
No, the dimmer is designed for indoor use only. Keep it in a dry, ventilated area away from rain and moisture to prevent electrical hazards.
How do I reset the dimmer to factory settings?
There is no dedicated reset button. To reset, power off the unit, wait 10 seconds, and power on. If you need to clear DMX settings, set all DIP switches to OFF (start address 1) and reconfigure as needed.
