How do I install the Juno JDS3530B range hood?

Installation should be performed by a qualified professional. Ensure the hood is mounted at least 65 cm above electric cooktops and 75 cm above gas cooktops. Connect the ducting to an external outlet or use recirculation mode with a carbon filter.

How often should I clean the grease filter?

The aluminum grease filter should be cleaned every month. Remove it and wash with warm soapy water or place it in the dishwasher. Dry thoroughly before reinstalling.

How do I replace the carbon filter?

If using recirculation mode, replace the carbon filter every 3-6 months. Open the filter access panel, remove the old filter, and insert a new one, ensuring it clicks into place.

Why is my range hood making loud noises?

Noise can be caused by loose ductwork, blocked filters, or a worn motor. Check and tighten duct connections, clean the grease filter, and if the issue persists, contact service.

How do I reset the filter alarm?

After cleaning or replacing the filters, press and hold the 'Speed' button for 3 seconds until the alarm indicator turns off. This resets the filter reminder.

Can I use the Juno JDS3530B without ducting?

Yes, you can use the range hood in recirculation mode. You need to install a carbon filter, which is sold separately. The air will be filtered and recirculated back into the kitchen.

What size duct is required for this hood?

The recommended duct diameter is 150 mm. Use rigid or flexible ducting of the same size to ensure optimal airflow and minimize noise.

How do I clean the exterior of the range hood?

Wipe the stainless steel surface with a soft cloth and mild detergent. Avoid abrasive cleaners. Dry immediately to prevent water spots.

The lights are not working, what could be the issue?

Check if the light bulb is loose or burned out. If using LED, ensure the connection is secure. If lights still don't work, the LED driver may need replacement. Contact support.

How do I adjust the speed settings?

Press the 'Speed' button to cycle between three speeds: low, medium, and high. The corresponding indicator will light up. Use low for simmering and high for heavy cooking.

Two systems are available:

External exhausting system

Vapour is expelled by means of an exhaust tube which is fixed to the coupling ring.

Diameter of the exhausting pipe must be equal to that of the connection ring.

The hood has two exhaust holes, one at the back and one at the top.

The hood may be used with the top exhaust hole (∅120mm coupling ring already mounted - Fig. 1)

According to your installation the pipe can be directed either towards the ceiling or towards the walls (Fig. 2).

Use the rear exhaust hole if air may be pushed to the outside by means of a hole in the back wall (Fig. 1a):

1. Remove the coupling ring (remove the fixing screw) from the top hole.
2. Remove the 2 screws which fix the rear plug.
3. Re-fit the 2 screws.
4. Fit the deflector and fix with 1 screw.
5. Insert the coupling ring into the rear exhaust hole + fixing screw.

Internal recycle system

— The air is purified through an active carbon filter and returned to the room.
— The use of an active carbon filter is necessary when an exhaust pipe to the exterior is not available, or when it is not possible to install this type of pipe.

In the case of the internal recycle version

proceed as follows:

a. Request an active carbon filter suitable for this model from your supplier.
b. Remove the metal grease filters pulling upwards and extract outwards (Fig. 3).
c. Fit the carbon filter on its proper housing, first on the upper hooks then, using two locking keys D, on the lower hooks (Fig. 4).
d. The deflector E (Fig. 5) must be fitted on the hole B fixing it with the special screws provided.
e. Refit the metalgrease filters.

The deflector conveys the air frontwards avoiding to dirty the rear wall.

Attention

When installed, the hood must be not less than 65 cm. above electric burners or 75 cm. above gas or mixed-fuel burners.

Warning!

— The hood cannot be connected to flues of other appliances that run on energy sources other than electricity.
— When the hood is used at the same time of other appliances that run on energy sources other than electricity, provision must be made for an adequate supply of air.
— No food must be cooked flambé underneath the hood.
The use of an unprotected flame is dangerous for the filters and could cause fires.
Therefore, never use an open flame under the hood. When frying foods, never leave the pan alone because the cooking oil could flare up.
— Please, keep to the provisions of official directives regarding the question of fume discharge.
— The manufacturers refuse to accept any responsibility for damage to the hood or its catching on fire because of failure to observe the above instructions.

Suggestions for the installation and use of the hood

— The horizontal sections of the pipe must be slanted slightly upwards (about 10%) to ensure an easy flow of the air outwards.
— The best performance of the unit is obtained in the external exhaust model (suction), therefore in the limits of the possibilities it is advised to use the external exhaust (suction) type.
— The best performances are obtained with short pipes (max. 4 m) and with few curves.

Electric connection

Before completing any connection, make sure the house voltage corresponds with the voltage indicated on the label affixed inside the hood.

The hood is supplied with a standard plug; connect it to a correspondingly standard socket.

In the case is intended to connect the appliance permanently to the mains after having removed the plug supplied, must be fitted a two-pole switch conforming to regulations with an opening distance between contacts of not less than 3mm.

The manufacturers are not liable for any problems caused by the user's failure to observe the above instructions.

Fixing the hood

Fixing to the wall

1. Make use of the scheme N1U provided, applying it on the wall (Fig. 6).
2. Drill where indicated (Fig. 6).
3. Place the hooks F provided with screws and blocks in the upper holes (Fig. 7).
4. Place the expansion plugs G supplied with the hood in the lower holes (Fig. 7).
5. Fix the angle frame H (using either the long or the short arm, depending on the depth of the side cupboards) to the wall at the right height (Fig. 8).
6. Adjust the position of the upper brackets

I, fix the hood to the hooks F, check that the hood is at the right height (to eventually adjust the height work on the screws L (Fig. 8).
7. Fix the hood to the lower angle frame by means of the screws M (Fig. 8).
8. For a further adjustment act on the screws J through the holes N (fig. 8).

Fixing the front panel

1. Remove the metal grease filters pulling upwards and extract outwards (Fig. 3).
2. Take off the door O (Fig. 9) turning the rear locking knobs P.
3. Apply the scheme N3U on the rear side of the front panel, considering that the arrow indicates the upper side (Fig. 10), drill where indicated by the scheme. Do not drill completely the front panel.
4. Then fix the door to the front panel by means of the screws Q (Fig.11)

Fixing to the cabinet

1. Apply the scheme N2I on the side of the right cupboard, so that the side B matches the front part of the cupboard (disregard the thickness of the flap) and drill two holes 2,5 mm diameter in the points B1 and B2 (Fig. 12).
   Do not drill completely the panel of the cupboard.
2. Then apply the same scheme on the side of the left cupboard, matching the side C with the front part of the cupboard (disregard the thickness of the flap) and drill two holes 2,5 mm diameter in the points C1 and C2 (Fig. 13). Do not drill completely the panel of the cupboard.
3. Fix the hood to the cupboards by means of the screws R (Fig. 14).
4. Replace the door, inserting it first in the upper then in the lower slides, turn the rear locking knobs P (Fig. 9) and then mount the metal filters.

5. Adjust the angle frame tightly to the wall, making use of the apposite screws M (Fig. 8).

6. The angle frame has one long arm and one short arm, to be used in alternative depending on the depth of the cupboards.

Using the hood

The hoods JDS 3530 is supplied with 2 motors.

To get best efficiency, we suggest to use slow speeds in normal conditions and the highest in particular cases of strong smell and vapour concentration.

The hood is provided with an intensive speed.

Use the intensive speed switch only in case of high concentration of vapour.

The switching plate is fitted with two switches: one for the adjustment of the ventilator and one for illuminating the work surface.

Note: Simply close the front panel to switch off the hood (light and motor).

When you pull up the front panel, the hood (light and extraction motor) switches on again as previously set.

It is advisable to switch on the extractor hood a few minutes before starting cooking and then to leave it running for approximately 15 minutes afterwards to ensure that all odours are extracted.

Attention!

The hood doesn't switch-ON if the flap is not mounted.

Maintenance

Before performing any maintenance operation, disconnect the hood from the electricity.

Grease filter

The hood has 2 metal grease filters.

To clean the filter, proceed as follows:

Remove the metal grease filters pulling upwards and extract outwards (Fig. 3).

The metal grease filter lasts forever and must be washed either by hand or in the dishwasher (65°C) with suitable detergents. The grease filters must be washed at least once a month.

Attention! When washed in a dishwasher, the metal grease filter may discolour.

Before refitting the filter ensure that it is perfectly dry.

Position of filters is interchangeable.

Charcoal filter

This hood can be equipped with a circular charcoal filter.

The charcoal filter cannot be regenerated or washed.

The charcoal filter must be replaced every 4 months.

To remove the carbon filter, unlock the knobs D (Fig. 4) and pull the filter out.

Attention

Failure to observe the rules for cleaning the appliance and changing and cleaning the filters may cause fires. Therefore, we recommend observing these instructions.

Changing the bulbs

a. Disconnect the hood from the electricity.
b. Remove the grease filters.
c. Always replace burnout bulbs with olive-shaped max 40 Watt (E14) bulbs.
d. Refit the grease filters.
— Before calling for Repair service because the hood fails to light up, make sure the bulbs are screwed in tightly.

Cleaning

To clean the outside of the hood use a cloth moistened with denatured alcohol or neutral liquid detergents.

Never use products containing abrasive.

Wipe brushed stainless steel in the same direction as the brushing to avoid scratching.
