Before putting on the headphones, set the volume to the lowest level.

Operating environment

The device is not designed for use in environments with a high temperature or humidity (e.g. bathrooms) or in extremely dusty conditions. Operating temperatures and operating air humidity: 0^ C to 45^ C, max. 85% rel. air humidity.

Radio interface

Turn the device off in aircraft, hospitals, operating rooms or in the vicinity of medical electronic systems. The transmitted radio waves can impair the functionality of sensitive devices. Keep the device at least 20cm away from any pacemakers, since the proper functioning of the pacemaker can be impaired by radio waves. The transmitted radio waves can cause interference in hearing aids. Do not place the device in the vicinity of flammable gases or in an explosion-hazard environment (e.g. paint shop) when the radio components are switched on since the transmitted radio waves can cause an explosion or a fire. The range of the radio waves is dependent on conditions in the surrounding environment. In case of data traffic via

a wireless connection, it is also possible for unauthorised third parties to receive data. Targa GmbH is not responsible for radio or television interference caused by unauthorised changes to this device. Ensure that

■ no direct heat sources (e.g. heating) can affect the device;
■ no direct sunlight or bright artificial light reaches the device;
- any contact with splashed and dripping water and corrosive liquids is avoided and the device is not operated in the vicinity of water. In particular, the device should never be submerged in liquid (do not place any items filled with liquid, e.g. vases or drinks, on or near the device);
■ no fire sources (e.g. burning candles) are placed on or near the device;
■ the headphones are not thrown into a fire because the integrated battery may explode;
■ no foreign objects penetrate the device;
■ the device is never subjected to extreme temperature fluctuations as this could result in condensation and electrical short circuits. If the device was subjected to extreme temperature fluctuations, however, wait (approx. 2 hours) device has reached ambient temperature before use;
■ the device is never subjected to excessive shocks and vibrations;
■ connected cables are always laid in such a manner that nobody can step on them or trip over them. There is a risk of injury;
- no objects are placed on a connected cable and cables are not connected over sharp edges because they could be damaged otherwise.

These headphones can be used by children aged 8 and older and by persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental abilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they are supervised or have been instructed on the safe use of the headphones and understand the resulting risks. Cleaning / maintenance

It is necessary to repair the device if it has been damaged in any way, for example, if the housing is damaged, if liquid or objects have penetrated the device or if the product has been exposed to rain or moisture. Repair work is also required if the device is not working properly or has been dropped. If smoke is produced, or there are any unusual sounds or smells, turn the device off immediately. In these cases, the device should not be used until it has been inspected by authorised service personnel. Only have the device repaired by qualified personnel. Never open the housing of the device. Only use a clean, dry cloth for cleaning and never use any corrosive liquids. Never try to open the housing of the device as this would void your warranty.

Storage when not in use

If you will not be using the headphones for a prolonged period, you should recharge the battery at least every 6-12 months to maintain them in working order. Ensure that the storage temperature remains between -20°C and +60°C. The humidity should not exceed 85% rel. air humidity.

If you are not using the headphones or want to transport them, you can fold them in a space-saving manner as shown in the illustration. To do so, first slide the headphone earpieces in the direction of the arrow (1) and then fold them (2).

Prior to use

You can use the headphones either wired or wirelessly via Bluetooth ^® . Before using the headphones wirelessly for the first time, the built-in battery in the headphones must be fully charged. To do so, proceed as described in the following section.

Charging the built-in battery

Before the first wireless use or when the built-in battery is empty, you charge it as follows:

  • Set the switch (5) on the headphones to "OFF".
  • Connect the headphones with the enclosed USB charging cable (B) to a computer that is switched on. Insert the small plug of the USB charging cable (B) into the micro USB socket (4) on the headphones and the large plug of the USB charging cable (B) into a free USB socket on your computer.
  • The LED (3) of the headphones then lights up orange.
  • The LED (3) goes out when the battery is fully charged.

The battery of the headphones can also be charged with a standard USB power supply 5V /500mA (not included).

First use

Putting on the headphones

Note the markings on the inside of the headband to put on the headphones correctly: R = right, L = left. The controls and the LED (3) are located on the left side of the headphones.

To ensure a perfect fit of the headphones, the size of the headband is infinitely adjustable. See illustration.

Wired operation

• The switch (5) must be in the "OFF" position.
- Connect the jack plug of the 3.5mm stereo jack plug cable (C) to an external audio source.
- Insert the micro USB plug of the 3.5mm stereo jack plug cable (C) into the micro USB socket (4) on the headphones.
- You can use the external audio source to adjust the playback volume. The volume control of the headphones has no function in this case.

For wired operation, the headphones must not be switched on in order to avoid interference.

Wireless operation

Bluetooth ^® technology enables wireless hands-free operation of mobile phones, for example. These headphones allow you to use a Bluetooth ^® enabled device. The range of Bluetooth ^® operation is restricted to approx. 10 metres.

If your playback device supports the Bluetooth ^® profile A2DP, you can also transfer music wirelessly to your headphones. To be able to remotely control the playback device with the headphones, it must also support the AVRCP profile.

Depending on the manufacturer, model and software version of the mobile phone or playback device which is used, the complete functionality of the headphones cannot be guaranteed in all cases.

Switching on/off the headphones

Switch the headphones on by sliding the switch (5) to the position 📄Bluetooth® operation). The LED (3) lights up blue for approx. 2 seconds. To switch them off, slide the switch (5) to the "OFF" position. The LED (3) lights up orange for approx. 2 seconds and then goes out.

Using the multifunction button (2)

The headphones are equipped with a multifunction button (2). To use the various functions, you can press this button in the initial position ▶! You can select the other functions by sliding it in the direction of the symbols +/▶▶| ◀◀/−

All of the following functions depend on the functionality of the mobile phone or playback device which is used.

Pairing

Switch off the headphones. Switch on the headphones with the switch (5). If the LED (3) lights up blue, press the ▶ multifunction button (2) briefly to start the pairing mode. The LED (3) then alternates between flashing orange and blue. The headphones are then in search mode for approx. 3 minutes. During this time, you can connect a compatible device, for example, a smartphone, to the headphones via the Bluetooth® function. Activate the Bluetooth® function of your mobile phone and let it search for Bluetooth® devices nearby. For further details, please read the instructions of your mobile phone. Select the device "SBTH 2.1 A1" from the list of devices which are found and establish the connection. The name of the headphones "SBTH 2.1 A1" now appears in the list of devices connected to your mobile phone. When there is an established connection, the LED (3) flashes blue once briefly about every 10 seconds. As soon as the mobile phone is switched off or is out of range, the headphones switch to standby mode (not connected) and the LED flashes blue twice briefly every 5 seconds.

The pairing process can take up to 30 seconds depending on the mobile phone or playback device which is used.

If you want to connect another device to the headphones, you must repeat the pairing as described previously.

Only one device can be connected at a time to the headphones. As soon as the previously connected device comes within range of the headphones, the connection to this device is established automatically. You may need to confirm the connection on your mobile phone or playback device. The LED (3) flashes orange twice, then blue once followed by blue once every 10 seconds.

If you are asked for a PIN during the pairing process, enter "0000".

Please note that both operating modes (wired and wireless) cannot be used at the same time.

Disconnecting

To disconnect a device, proceed as follows:

Keep ▶ the multifunction button (2) pressed for approx. 5 seconds. The LED (3) lights up orange twice. The device is disconnected.

Answering / ending call

Briefly press ▶ the multifunction button (2) to answer a call. To end a phone call, press ▶ the multifunction button (2) again briefly. This is confirmed by a brief beep.

Rejecting call

To reject an incoming call, press ▶the multifunction button (2) for approx. two seconds until a beep sounds. Release ▶the multifunction button (2) immediately after the beep because the call will not be rejected otherwise.

Voice control

When there is an established connection, press ▶ the multifunction button (2) for approx. two seconds to activate the voice control of your mobile phone.

Redialling

When there is an established connection, press ▶ the multifunction button (2) twice briefly to redial the number that was last called from your mobile phone.

Increasing / lowering playback volume

You can set the playback volume on your mobile phone or playback device and also on the headphones themselves.

  • To increase the volume, slide the multifunction button (2) in the +/▶▶ direction. The maximum volume is reached when a beep sounds.
  • To lower the volume, slide the multifunction button (2) in the | / - direction. The minimum volume is reached when a beep sounds.

Selecting previous / next track

  • In playback mode, slide the multifunction button (2) briefly in the direction to reach the start of the current track, and slide the multifunction button (2) again briefly in the direction to reach the previous track.
  • In playback mode, slide the multifunction button (2) briefly in the +/▶▶ direction to reach the next track.

Starting / pausing playback

In playback mode, press ▶ the multifunction button (2) briefly to pause the playback. The playback continues when the button is pressed again.

Auto power OFF

After approx. 10 minutes in standby mode without a connected device, the LED (3) lights up orange once for a longer period and the headphones switch themselves off automatically.

The headphones cannot be switched on.

  • The distance between the devices is too large, reduce it.

If it is not possible to solve the problem on the phone, our hotline support staff will initiate further servicing procedures depending on the fault.
