Intended use These Circumaural Ear Protectors have a facility for the reproduction of audio signals for entertainment purposes. These Circumaural Ear Protectors limit the sound pressure level of a sound signal at the ear to 82 dB(A). This device is intended exclusively for non-commercial use to – Listen to radio stations and audio material, – Reduce hazardous levels of noise at the ear. This device is not intended for any other use or for uses beyond those mentioned. Claims of any kind for damage resulting from unintended use will not be accepted. The operator alone bears the risk.
PKG 82 A1 Warning symbols used In these extant operating instructions the following warnings are used: DANGER A warning of this danger level indicates a threateningly dangerous situation If the dangerous situation is not avoided, it could lead to death or serious physical injury. ► Pay heed to the instructions in this warning to avoid the death of or serious physical injury to people. WARNING A warning of this danger level signifies a possible dangerous situation.

Safety In this chapter you will receive important safety information regarding the handling of the device. This device complies with the statutory safety regulations. Incorrect usage can lead to personal injury and property damage. Risk of hearing damage WARNING Risks as a result of extremely high sound levels! Loud music can lead to hearing damage. ► Avoid extreme sound levels, especially over extended periods of time, when you are using these Circumaural Ear Protectors.
► These Circumaural Ear Protectors have a level-dependent adjustment which works slowly and is therefore not suitable for impulse noise. These Circumaural Ear Protectors are therefore unsuitable for gunsport enthusiasts and hunters. Risk of accidents WARNING Danger through impaired perception! ► Acoustical warning and indication signals and environmental noises can sound different when you are wearing these Circumaural Ear Protectors. Make yourself aware of how these signals deviate in their sound so that you can recognise the signals in the appropriate situations. ► The perception of warning signals in certain workplaces may be affected when using the sound reproducing system. ► Do not use these Circumaural Ear Protectors when operating an automobile, a bicycle or in any other situation in which impaired environmental sound perception could present a risk to yourself or others.
PKG 82 A1 Interaction with batteries WARNING Danger from improper use! The risk of explosions and leakages exists! For safe handling of batteries observe the following safety instructions: ► Do not throw batteries into a fire. ► Never short-circuit batteries. ► Do not attempt to recharge batteries. ► Regularly check the condition of the batteries. Leaking battery acid can cause permanent damage to the device. Special caution should be applied when handling damaged or leaking batteries. Danger from acid burns! Wear protective gloves. ► Store batteries in a place inaccessible to children. When swallowed seek immediate medical attention.
► If you do not intend to use the device for an extended period, remove the batteries. Basic Safety Instructions For safe handling of the device observe the following safety information: ■ Before use check the device for visible external damage. Do not put into operation a device that is damaged or has been dropped. ■ Damaged cables or connections should be replaced by authorised qualified personnel or by the Customer Service department. ■ This device is not intended for use by individuals (including children) with restricted physical, physiological or intellectual abilities or deficiences in experience and/or knowledge unless they are supervised by a person responsible for their safety or receive from this person instruction in how the device is to be used. ■ Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the device. ■ A repair to the device during the warranty period may only be carried out by a Customer Service department authorised by the manufacturer otherwise no additional warranty claims can be considered for subsequent damages. ■ Do not carry out any unauthorised reconstruction or customisation to these Circumaural Ear Protectors. ■ Protect the device from moisture and liquid penetration. PKG 82 A1
■ Do not operate the device close to open flames (e.g. candles). ■ Avoid direct solar radiation. ■ These Circumaural Ear Protectors are to be set up, adjusted, cleaned and maintained as per the instructions in this manual. If they are not, the protective effect of the Circumaural Ear Protectors could be negatively affected. ■ The full protective effect is assured only if the Circumaural Ear Protectors are worn during the entire period spent in noisy environments. ■ The Circumaural Ear Protectors, and especially the sealing rings, may show signs of aging over time. The sealing rings should be checked regularly for cracks and permeability. Only in this way can the full protective effect be achieved.
■ This product can be damaged by certain chemical substances. Further information should be requested from the importer. ■ The performance may deteriorate due to depletion of the batteries. The typical duration in continuous use which may be expected from the batteries of these Circumaural Ear Protectors is approximately 48 hours. ■ The sound output from the circuit for the sound regeneration may exceed the external noise level. Commissioning Safety instructions DANGER With the commissioning of the device risks can occur to persons and property! Pay heed to the following safety instructions to avoid risks: ► Packaging materials may not be used as playthings. There is a risk of suffocation! Items supplied and transport inspection The device is delivered with the following components as standard: ▯ Circumaural Ear Protectors ▯ Jackplug cable, 3.5 to 3.5 mm (100 cm) ▯ 2 x 1.5 V Batteries (AA/Mignon/LR6) ▯ These operating instructions
PKG 82 A1 NOTICE ► Check the contents to ensure that they are complete and for visible damage. ► If the delivery is not complete or is damaged due to defective packaging or through transportation contact the Service Hotline (see chapter Service). Disposal of the packaging The packaging protects the device from transport damage.
