Frequently Asked Questions - 9088 WH3R SALTER

How do I change the battery in my Salter 9088 WH3R scale?
Open the battery compartment on the underside, remove the old CR2032 battery, and insert a new one with the positive side facing up. Close the compartment securely.
Why does my scale show 'Err' or 'Overload'?
This indicates the weight exceeds the maximum capacity of 180 kg (396 lb). Step off immediately to avoid damage. The error will clear when the weight is removed.
How do I switch between kg, lb, and st?
Press the unit button on the scale (usually located under the platform or on the side) to cycle through kg, lb, and st. The selected unit will appear on the display.
My scale gives inconsistent readings. What should I do?
Ensure the scale is on a hard, flat surface. Avoid carpet or uneven floors. Make sure your feet are centered and standing still. If problems persist, replace the battery.
How do I clean my Salter scale?
Use a damp cloth to wipe the surface. Do not use abrasive cleaners or submerge the scale in water. Dry thoroughly after cleaning.
Can I use the scale on carpet?
No, for accurate readings always place the scale on a hard, level surface like tile or hardwood. Carpet can cause unstable measurements.
What does 'Lo' mean on the display?
'Lo' indicates the battery is low and needs to be replaced. Replace the CR2032 battery promptly for continued use.
Is the glass platform shatterproof?
It is made of tempered safety glass, which is strong and resistant to shattering. However, avoid dropping heavy objects on it to prevent damage.
How do I store the scale when not in use?
Store the scale in a dry, cool place away from direct sunlight. Remove the battery if storing for an extended period to prevent leakage.
Can I repair the scale if it breaks?
The scale has no user-serviceable parts other than the battery. For other repairs, contact Salter customer support or refer to the warranty.

ADVICE FOR USE AND CARE Always weigh yourself on the same scale placed on the same floor surface. Do not compare weight readings from one scale to another as some differences will exist due to manufacturing tolerances • Placing your scale on a hard, even floor will ensure the greatest accuracy and repeatability • Weigh yourself at the same time each day, before meals and without footwear. First thing in the morning is a good time • Your scale rounds up or down to the nearest increment. If you weigh yourself twice and get two different readings, your weight lies between the two • Clean your scale with a damp cloth. Do not use chemical cleaning agents • Do not allow your scale to become saturated with water as this can damage the electronics • Treat your scale with care - it is a precision instrument. Do not drop it or jump on it • Caution: the platform may become slippery when wet.

TROUBLESHOOTING GUIDE If you experience any difficulty in the use of your scale: Check the battery is correctly fitted. Check that you have selected your preference of stones/pounds, kilograms or pounds. Check that the scale is on a flat, level floor and not touching against a wall. Repeat the 'Initialisation' procedure every time the scale is moved. If when you use the scale there is no display at all or if 'LO' is displayed - try a new battery. If 'O-Ld' is displayed the scale has been overloaded.
