How do I clean the TriStar LF-4701 humidifier?

Unplug the device, remove the tank and empty any remaining water. Clean the inside of the tank and the base with a soft cloth soaked in warm water and a little white vinegar. Rinse thoroughly before reusing. Never immerse the base in water.

Why is my humidifier not producing mist?

Check that the tank contains water and the device is properly plugged in. Make sure the humidification output is set to a high level. If the problem persists, clean the tank and base to remove limescale.

Can I use tap water in the humidifier?

Yes, but very hard water can cause deposits and reduce the device's lifespan. For best results, use demineralized or filtered water.

How long does a full tank last?

At the maximum setting, a 1.5-liter tank lasts about 6 hours. At low output, the running time can reach 10 hours.

Can I add essential oils to the humidifier?

This model is designed for water diffusion only. Adding essential oils can damage internal components and void the warranty. Prefer a dedicated diffuser.

What to do if the humidifier makes noise?

A slight crackling sound is normal. If the noise is loud, check that the base is level and the tank is properly seated. Abnormal noise may indicate limescale buildup: clean the device with vinegar.

How to adjust the humidity level?

The device has a rotary knob that controls the mist output. Turn it towards the + symbol to increase humidity, towards - to decrease it.

Why does my humidifier turn off by itself?

This is normal: the device is equipped with an automatic shut-off when the tank is empty. Fill the tank and it will restart automatically.

Can I leave the humidifier on all night?

Yes, thanks to its automatic shut-off and low noise level (< 35 dB), it is perfectly suited for nighttime use. Place it on a stable surface away from drafts.

• The appliance can be used by children aged from at least 8 years and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved. Children shall not play with the appliance. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children unless they are older than 8 and supervised.

• Remove the plug from the socket before the water reservoir will be filled with water.

BEFORE THE FIRST USE

• Take the appliance and accessories out the box. Remove the stickers, protective foil or plastic from the device.
• Before using your appliance for the first time, wipe off all removable parts with a damp cloth. Never use abrasive products.
• Put the power cable into the socket. (Note: Make sure the voltage which is indicated on the device matches the local voltage before connecting the device. Voltage 220V-240V 50/60Hz)
• Place the device on a flat stable surface and ensure a minimum of 10 cm. free space around the device. This device is not suitable for installation in a cabinet or for outside use.

USE

• It is recommended to use the unit under temperature of 5-40 °C and a relative humidity less than 80%RH.
  • Take the water tank out off the unit, remove the water tank cover, and fill the tank with clear water not over 40^ C then put back the cover.
• Check the water basin and make sure it is clean, then put the tank onto the base unit carefully.
• Connect the power plug and switch on the unit by turning the control knob to the right, the main connection lamp will illuminate. The unit starts working. The control knob can be used to control the humidity output.
• NOTE: never switch on the unit when there is no water in the water basin.

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

• Use cold boiled water or distilled water.
• Change the water in water tank weekly to keep it fresh.
• Clean the whole unit, and make sure to keep all parts of the unit dry completely when the unit is not in use.

How to clean the filter system

• Clean the ceramic balls after use for 1000L water regularly.
• Take off the water tank and turn off the filter system from the water tank.
• Put the filter system into the white vinegar for about 10 minutes.
  • Take the filter system away from the white vinegar; shake for several times and rinse it with clear water. Make it dry. Pack it into a polybag. Keep it in a cool and shady place.

How to clean the base and water tank

• Put a few drops of vinegar on the surface of the base and water tank and wait for 2-5 minutes.
• Brush off the limescale rinse the inside of the base and the water tank with clean water.
