Important safeguards

Appliance produces scalding steam.
When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should always be followed, including the following:
1 Read all Instructions.
2 Do not touch hot surfaces. Use handles or knobs.
3 To protect against electric shock do not immerse cord, plugs, or this appliance in water or other liquid.
4 Close supervision is necessary when any appliance is used by or near children.
5 Unplug from outlet when not in use and before cleaning. Allow to cool before putting on or taking off parts, and before cleaning the appliance.
6 Do not operate any appliance with a damaged cord or plug or after the appliance malfunctions, or has been damaged in any manner. Return appliance to the nearest authorized T-FAL service center for examination, repair or adjustment.
7 The use of accessory attachments is not recommended by the appliance manufacturer as it may cause injuries.
8 Do not use outdoors.
9 Do not let the cord hang over the edge of the table or counter, or touch hot surfaces.
10 Do not place on or near a hot gas or electric burner, or in a heated oven.
11 Extreme caution must be used when moving an appliance containing hot oil or other hot liquids.
12 Always attach plug to appliance first, then plug cord in the wall outlet. To disconnect, turn any control to "off," then remove plug from wall outlet.
13 Do not use appliance for other than intended household use.

Polarization instructions
This appliance has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other). To reduce the risk of electric shock, this plug is intended to fit into a polarized outlet only one way. If the plug does not fit fully into the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does not fit, contact a qualified electrician. Do not attempt to modify the plug in any way.
Short Cord instructions
a) A short power cord (or detachable power cord) is to be provided to reduce the risk of becoming entangled in or tripping over a longer cord.
b) Longer detachable power cords or extension cords are available and may be used with care.
c) If a long detachable power cord or extension cord is used,
1) The marked electrical rating of the cord or extension cord should be at least as great as the electrical rating of the appliance, and
2)The cord should be arranged so that it will not drape over the countertop or table-top where it can be pulled on by children or tripped over unintentionally.
If the appliance is of the grounded type, the extension cord should be a grounding-type 3-wire cord.
preparation
Before use
- Wash the lid, rice bowl, steam bowl(s), juice collector, tank and removable turbo ring with warm soapy water.
- Rinse and dry.

Do not
immerse the
tank/base in water.
Preparing the steamer
- Place the appliance on a flat and stable surface, away from any objects that could be damaged by steam.
- Put the turbo ring in position around the heating element with water inlet (5b) at the base.
- Pour in water up to the interior water level corresponding to the desired cooking time. Example: pour in up to 40 min. level for 40 minutes cooking time. Interior and exterior levels are equivalent.
- Place the juice collector flat on the base. 2

Do not use
any seasoning or liquid other than water in the water tank.
Positioning the steam bowl(s)
- Place the food in the bowl(s).
- Put the lid onto the top bowl.
- Place the steam bowl(s) on top of juice collector and base. 3
- The steam bowls can be assembled in any order.

It is possible
to put different foods into each steam bowl. You should ensure that the flavours complement each other.

We advise
that you place larger foods or those requiring a longer cooking time in the lower bowl.
For cooking rice. Put the rice bowl into place
- Put one volume of rice to one and a half volume of water into the rice bowl (maximum 300 grams (1 1/4 cup) of rice).
- Place a steam bowl on top of the juice collector and base.
- Put the rice bowl into the steam bowl.
- Put the lid onto the bowl.

Check that
the appliance is correctly assembled before use. Use only containers specially designed for this appliance.
For cooking eggs
- Place the eggs in the integrated egg supports provided for this purpose.

Start cooking
- Plug in the steamer.
- Put the on/off switch into the lposition (certain models only).
Aquatimer® - During cooking
- When pilot light lights up, the steam cooking begins.
- The Aquatimer® exterior water level allows to see the level of water in the tank and the remaining cooking time.
Aquatimer® - At the end of cooking time
- The Aquatimer® ensures that your appliance will automatically stop cooking when the water evaporates.
- A buzzing sound indicates the end of the cooking time and the pilot light goes off.
- Press the on/off switch into the position (on certain models only).
- Unplug the steamer.
Serve
- Remove the steam bowl using a cloth or oven mitts.

Place it on a plate or on the lid turned upside down.

If you have used the rice bowl, remove it carefully, with oven mitts, holding it by the sides. 8
- Serve.
cleaning and maintenance
- Once the appliance has completely cooled down, empty the juice collector and the tank if necessary. Wipe the tank with a soft damp cloth.
- Carefully wash plastic accessories. They are dishwasher safe.
- Clean the turbo ring regularly, particularly the water inlet.
- Certain food juices may stain the plastic - this is normal.
Dscaling
- Fill the water tank with white vinegar to the 50min interior level mark. Do not use other descaling products.
- Plug in. Only the tank should be used during this operation.
- If the vinegar boils over, unplug the appliance.
- When the appliance rings, unplug and wait for it to cool down before emptying out the remaining vinegar.
- Rinse the tank with clear water several times.
Never plug in the appliance when there is no water in the tank.
Do not handle the bowls during cooking.
Wait until after the cooking has finished before adding water.
Your appliance remains connected to the power supply and rings intermittently while it is connected.
Before removing the juice collector, wait until the juice and the appliance have cooled down.
Do not use abrasive cleaning products or sponges.
For short cooking times (10-20 minutes) descale the heating element thoroughly before beginning the cooking process.
Descale your steamer after 7 to 10 uses.

Reheating of
food
You can reheat steam cooked food directly in the steam bowls.
WARRANTY CANADA AND USA
One Year Warranty
T-Fal warrants this product to be defect free in material and workmanship for a period of one year. Should a defect be discovered within one year of date of purchase, the following procedure should be used in claiming warranty:
In Canada
1) Return your appliance to the retailer from whom it was purchased along with proof of purchase.
Or
2) Take your appliance to the nearest authorized T-Fal Service Center, along with proof of purchase.
3)T-Fal Canada agrees to repair or replace the defective part or product at no charge, provided that the product is returned with all shipping charges prepaid to:

accompanied by proof of purchase and a letter detailing the nature of the defect. Be certain that the appliance is wrapped carefully when shipping. The T-Fal Customer Service Department should be contacted by mail or by telephone (1-800-418-3325), prior to any action, in the event that it is possible to correct the defect without returning the unit.
In USA
Do not return the product to the retailer from whom it was purchased, nor to a service center. Please read the following procedure carefully. Our staff may be able to assist you with the operational problem.
Contact our consumer service department at (800) 395 8325 (M-F 8:30-4:30 EST) for assistance and to ensure the fastest possible resolution of the problem. You will need the model or type number of your product.
You will likely be asked to send your product, with all shipping charges prepaid, accompanied by proof or purchase and a note detailing the nature of the defect, to:

Carefully wrap your package when shipping. NOTE: Claims for lost packages will only be accepted if package was sent insured or sent by traceable means.
What Happens to my return?
After proper inspection, under this limited warranty, T-Fal Corporation agrees to repair or replace the defective part or product at no charge.
The warranty does not apply to any unit that has been tampered with, nor to damages incurred through improper use and care, faulty packing or mishandling in transit by any common carrier.
Note: Repairs not covered by this warranty will be performed at current costs for parts and labor, plus return shipping charges.
This warranty gives you specific legal rights and you may also have other rights, which may vary, from state to state.
