User Manual and Safety Advice
- Before using the machine, please read this user manual carefully.
- Keep the user manual in a safe place for future reference.
- Read and follow all safety advice on the machine and in the user manual.
- The user manual is designed to help the user to operate the machine correctly.
- This product has been designed and manufactured to guarantee maximum safety of the user.
Power supply and mains connection
- The machine may only be connected to the power supply stated in this user manual or on the name plate, otherwise the machine may be damaged beyond repair. The guarantee does not cover damage which may arise from connection to the wrong power supply. If you are not sure of the voltage of your mains supply, seek advice from a specialist dealer or your power utility.

- The mains plug serves as a circuit breaker to interrupt the power supply. Therefore the mains plug must be operative and accessible at all times.
- Never try to repair the mains plug yourself. Only use the supplied mains plug.
- If the mains plug is connected to the wall socket the machine is connected to the power supply, even if you have switched off the machine itself with the POWER button.
- CAUTION! If you do not use the machine for long periods of time, remove the disc from the disc tray and disconnect the mains plug from the plug socket. When disconnecting hold the plug, never pull directly on the cable.

- Never touch the plug cable with wet hands.
- The power cable must be routed in such a way that no one can step on it. The power cable should not be jammed between two objects. Never place objects onto the mains cable. Never pull directly on the power cable. The power cable should not be crushed, jammed into a tight space, or bent excessively.

- Pay particular attention to the connection points between cable and plug, cable and extension cable, as well as the cable and the device.
- Never overload the wall sockets, extension cables, or multiplug adapters. This may otherwise constitute a fire hazard and electrocution risk.
- The machine is controlled by a micro computer, therefore any outside disturbances – e.g., lightning, interference, or static – may affect the function of the machine. Should unexpected disturbances occur, press the mains POWER switch to switch off the device for 10 seconds, thus resetting the micro computer. Then press the mains POWER switch again to switch the machine on again. You may also disconnect the mains plug and then plug it back in. The machine should function again normally.
- CAUTION! In stormy weather, disconnect the machine from the mains in order to prevent power surges caused by lightning.
- If the machine is accidentally switched off, switch it back on again.
- At least 30 seconds should pass between switching the machine off and on.
- After use, remove the disc from the disc tray and switch off the device.
- Before connecting to other machines, switch off the DVD device.
Installation and Handling
- CAUTION! Do not set up the machine in poorly ventilated areas. Avoid dirty or dusty areas. Do not choose an unstable or moving/vibrating surface. The machine should preferably be set up in a clean, well-ventilated, and dry environment.
- Do not place the machine in an enclosed space, such as e.g. book shelves or fitted cupboards where there is no circulation of air.
- CAUTION! Leave sufficient space (at least 5 cm) around the device. Do not block the slots and openings in the machine provided for ventilation and check whether air can circulate freely around the machine.
- Ensure that the slots and openings provided for ventilation are not blocked, otherwise the machine may overheat. All items such as e.g. table coverings, nets and curtains or newspapers which could block the ventilation slots should be removed if necessary.
- Do not push objects through the ventilation slots. By doing so, you may come into contact with live parts or short circuit components. This may constitute a fire hazard and risk of electric shock.
- In order to prevent fire or electric shocks, do not expose the machine to rain or damp. Do not set up the machine in a damp, humid environment.
- Do not place the machine near flowing, splashing or dripping water e.g. close to bathtubs, washbasins, swimming pools, sinks, in damp cellars or in similar places.
- CAUTION! Do not place the machine close to vessels containing fluids. Water and other fluids can damage the device beyond repair if they get inside the machine. Also keep the mains plugs away from water or other fluids.

- Do not place objects with naked flames or water such as e.g. candles or flower vases, onto the device.
- For optimum performance, do not place heavy objects onto the device.
- Do not place the machine close to strong magnetic fields and do not expose to direct sunlight or heat (such as e.g. close to radiators or fan heaters).

- Do not place the machine near to other devices which emit intense heat or magnetic flux such as e.g. radiators, fan heaters, ovens, video recorders, stereo systems, radios or large speakers. Such appliances may distort the picture and sound.
- To prevent risk of injury, do not place the machine on unstable trolleys or stands.
- To avoid damage, only use the supplied accessories (power cable, remote control).
- Do not move the machine if there is a disc in the disc tray, otherwise this may damage the disc or the parts inside the machine.
- Do not insert objects into the disc tray.
- Make sure that no objects such as e.g. needles, paper clips or coins are inserted into the device.
- Condensation may appear in the device e.g. visibly behind the display, in the following circumstances:
• Straight after the heating has been switched on.
• In a steamy or damp room.
- Straight after the device has been switched from a cold to a warm environment.
- If condensation has formed, the machine may not function properly. To solve the problem, leave the machine for about 1 hour in a warm environment (room temperature).
Service and Repair
- Never try to dismantle or re-assemble the machine yourself. This may invalidate the warranty with immediate effect.
- CAUTION! Never try to open the housing, because the device carries very high voltage.
This constitutes an injury risk. If necessary, please seek the advice of our service centre or qualified professionals.

- CAUTION! All repairs may only be carried out by qualified and authorised specialists. Never try to repair the machine yourself. This may render the warranty null and void with immediate effect.
- Should your machine require specialist maintenance or servicing, please contact your authorised dealer or our service centre.
- If any parts need to be replaced, please ensure that only replacement parts approved by the manufacturer or those which have the same features as the original parts are used. Using non-approved parts, amongst other things, constitutes a fire hazard and risk of electric shock.
- After completing all repair work, you should ask the repair specialists to conduct a safety inspection of the whole machine, in order to confirm whether the product is in an acceptable condition.
- If the drive components or optical lens is dirty or worn, the picture quality becomes poor.

The colour of the audio and video jacks should match the colour of the input and outputs (jacks). • Interference-free operation can only be guaranteed with audio / video cables of up to 1.5 metres.
- Under no circumstances should you use the digital coaxial output COAXIAL or the optical output OPTICAL at the same time with analogue audio outputs.
- Do not block the ventilation slots of connected devices and check whether air can circulate freely around the device.
- Do not braid the audio and video connector cables with other cables or wires, especially with speaker or mains cables. This may cause picture and sound interference.
- After all external devices have been connected securely and safely to the DVD machine, plug all mains plugs from all devices into the mains sockets and switch on the DVD machine MC 4434 DVD/USB/CR as well as the connected devices.
- At least 3 seconds should pass between switching the machine on and off.
Video-Outputs: Connections to a television
All Video ports at a glance
The DVD system has four different video outputs, which can be used selectively to connect a television to the system:
![graph TD TV["TV"] --> A["Audio/Video Cabel"] A --> B["Pr/Cr"] A --> C["Plb/Cb"] A --> D["Y"] A --> E["Audio R"] A --> F["Audio L"] A --> G["Video input"] A --> H["Scart"] A --> I["②"] A --> J["①"] A --> K["③"] A --> L["④"]](/content/2026/06/1277344/images/19cccc66673064fe9ae4339326d1c4822cbc4ead98937afa51114c887c10e536.jpg)
- VIDEO (Composite Video, CVBS, yellow output) only carries Video-Signal (pictures). An additional Audio connection between the machine and the connected television via the left and right audio output AUDIO FL and AUDIO FR is required.
- VIDEO OUTPUT (Component Video, Pr/Cr, Pb/Cb, Y, green-blue-red output) only carries Video-Signal (pictures). An additional Audio connection between the device and the connected television via the left and right audio output AUDIO FL and AUDIO FR is required.
- SCART OUTPUT (Scart Output) carries video- (pictures) as well as audio (sound) signals. No additional audio connection between device and the connected television is required.
Notes:
- You can only select one of these connection types. Do not set up two or more video connections between the DVD system and a connected television.
- The differences between the individual video ports lie in the picture quality. The SCART connector offers the best picture quality, then the VIDEO OUTPUT (component port) (COMPONENT VIDEO, YUV), and finally the VIDEO port (CVBS, COMPOSITE VIDEO).
- For each connection type you must set the correct option for the video output (CVBS, YUV or RGB) in the System setup menu VIDEO SETUP and Menu item VIDEO OUTPUT.
- If required you must select the correct option for the TV mode in the System settings menu VIDEO SETUP and Menu item TV MODE. The TV mode Option depends on whether you have connected a television which supports progressive (PROGRESSIVE) or Interlaced (INTERLACE) scan, to the DVD system. See following chapter for details.
- It may happen that the picture presentation of the television does not function properly after connecting to the device. If this is the case, you must select the correct picture format option (16:9, 4:3) and/or the correct colour transmission system (AUTO, NTSC or PAL) in the system setup menu. You have the option of pressing the PAL/NTSC button on the remote control, in order to select the correct option for the colour transmission system. See following chapter for details.
VIDEO PORT (CVBS, COMPOSITE VIDEO)
The VIDEO PORT (CVBS, COMPOSITE VIDEO, yellow jack) only carries Video signals (pictures). An additional audio connection to the connected television is required for sound transmission.
Connection set-up: Video Signal transmission
Switch on the two devices and if required select the VIDEO or AV channel for the television.
For picture transmission (Video-Signal), connect the VIDEO INPUT of a television via an RCA cable directly to the VIDEO (VIDEO output) of the device.
Connection set-up: Audio-Signal transmission
For sound transmission (Audio-Signal), use an audio cable to connect the left (L) and the right (R) audio output of the device (FL and FR AUDIO OUTPUT) to the corresponding audio inputs of the connected television to the connected speakers (Audio system). For sound transmission you can also use the supplied speakers (the system audio ports). For details see chapter on "Connection to audio devices".
