How do I install the batteries in the Blaupunkt PP12BK?

To achieve the utmost in enjoyment and performance, and in order to become familiar with its features, please read this manual carefully before attempting to operate this product. This will assure you years of trouble-free performance and listening pleasure.

• This safety and operating instruction should be retained for future reference. - The apparatus should not be exposed to dripping or splashing or placed in a humid atmosphere such as a bathroom.

○ On top of other stereo equipment that radiate too much heat.

○ Blocking ventilation or in a dusty area.

○ Areas where there is constant vibration.

8. Do not attempt to clean the unit with chemical solvents as this might damage the finish. Wipe with a clean, dry or slightly damp cloth.

This product with ECO design complies with the stage 2 requirement of Commission Regulation (EC) No. 1275/2008 implementing Directive 2009/125/EC regarding standby and off mode electric power consumption of electronic household and office equipment. After 60 minutes without any audio input, the device will automatically switch into standby mode.

Please note that low volume setting in the audio source may be recognized as "no audio signal." This will affect the capability of signal detection from the device and can also originate an automatic switch into standby mode. If this happens, please reactivate the audio signal transmission or increase the volume setting on the audio source player (mp3 player etc.) in order to resume playback. Please contact the local service center if the problem remains.

Press it to set up 12/24 hours format time.

Press it to save current FM station.

DC operation (Battery power supply)

Open the BATTERY COMPARTMENT door. Install 3 pcs type R14, UM-2 or "C"

size batteries (not included) into compartment. Please follow correct polarities as indicated.

NOTE: When using battery, take off the AC cable from unit.

CAUTION:

Remove batteries if they are flat or not being used for a long period of time.

Batteries contain chemical substances, so they should be disposed of properly.

AC operation (Main power supply)

Plug the tail of supplied AC power cord into AC socket on unit and the plug another end into household AC outlet.

To disconnect the set from the mains completely, withdraw the mains plug from the wall socket.

Unit on/off

After set up the DC or AC power ready, press the POWER button to standby power on or off the unit.

Volume

Press VOLUME + or VOLUME - button can increase or decrease the volume in playing mode.

Setting The Time

1. When the unit is in standby mode (power off), press the TIME SET button on the front panel for 3 seconds to start time setting.
2. Press the NEXT ( ) button to switch and select the 12-hour/24-hour time format.
3. Press the TIME SET button on the front panel to start hour setting. Press the PREVIOUS ( ) or NEXT ( ) button to adjust the hours while the display is flashing.
4. Press TIME SET again to confirm the hour setting and start setting the minutes. Press the PREVIOUS ( ) or NEXT ( ) button to adjust the minutes while the display is flashing.
5. Press the TIME SET button again to complete the time setting.

Setting The Alarm

1. On standby mode, press the ALARM button on the front panel for 3 seconds to start alarm setting.
2. To adjust the hours, press the PREVIOUS (◀◀) or NEXT (▶) button while the display is flashing.
3. Press ALARM button again to confirm the hour setting and start to set up minute.
4. Press PREVIOUS (◀) or NEXT (▶) button to adjust the minute setting.
5. Press ALARM button again to confirm the minute setting and start to select the alarm source. Press PREVIOUS (◀◀) or NEXT (▶▶) button to switch the alarm source between Bazz, Radio and USB.
6. Press ALARM button again to confirm the alarm source selection and start the alarm volume setting. Press PREVIOUS (◀) or NEXT (▶) button to switch the alarm volume between 05~25 level.
7. Press ALARM button again to complete the alarm setting, and an alarm clock icon will show on display which means the alarm was set up successfully.

Remark:

a. In standby mode, press ALARM button can activate or close the alarm function. Please make sure the alarm clock icon is on display after alarm setting, which means the alarm function is available now. b. When the alarm sound rings up, you can press any button to cancel the alarm sound. And the alarm sound will ring up again at the same time the next day. c. Please kindly note the alarm function is only available when the unit connects with AC/DC power. Please check the alarm setting again in case you remove the AC/DC power and reconnect power source. d. Please kindly note the alarm sound will ring up for 30 minutes and turn off automatically in case there is no further operation.

Snooze Function

1. When your alarm sounds, you can press the SNOOZE/SLEEP button to turn off the alarm and activate the snooze function. The alarm sound will ring up again after 9 minutes. Press any other button (except SNOOZE/SLEEP button) can cancel the SNOOZE function; Press SNOOZE/SLEEP button again, you will get another 9 minutes snooze time for sleeping.

Sleep Function

1. In playing mode, press the SNOOZE/SLEEP Button repeatedly to cycle through the sleep time options: off / 15 / 30 / 45 / 60 / 75 / 90 minutes. For example, when you select 15 minutes, the radio turns off automatically after 15 minutes.
2. To turn off the radio at any time, press the POWER Button.

Radio

1. Press the POWER button to switch on the unit.
2. Press the SOURCE button once or more to switch to FM Radio mode.
3. The display shows the radio station details throughout the radio mode.
4. Select your station by using TUNING + or TUNING -
5. Adjust the sound with the VOLUME button.
6. To switch off the radio, press the POWER button once.

Tuning

Manual tuning

Press the TUNING + or TUNING – button briefly; the radio frequency will increase or decrease by 0.1 MHz in upward or downward steps.

Automatic tuning

Press and hold the TUNING + or TUNING – button for 3 seconds; the unit will auto-scan for available stations in the upward or downward frequency direction, and will stop and play the available station.

Preset

1. Tune to your desired station (See TUNING).
2. Press PROG button once to enter programming mode.
3. Press PREVIOUS ( ) or NEXT ( ) button to select the desired memory location.
4. Press PROG button once again to confirm and save the selected station.
5. Press the PREVIOUS ( ) or NEXT ( ) button to pick up the preset station for listening.

All-in-one (auto tune and preset): Press and hold PROG button for 3 seconds, the radio can scan and save the available station automatically, the unit can memory 50 preset stations max.

To improve reception:

You can fully extend the telescope antenna, or adjust the direction in order to get better reception. You also can put the unit next to the window in order to get better radio signal.

USB, MICRO SD CARD PLAYBACK

The unit is able to decode and playback all MP3 music files which stored in USB sticker or MICRO SD Card.

1. Before start the USB/MICRO SD CARD playback, please copy the available MP3 music files to your USB/MICRO SD CARD device.
2. Plug or insert the USB sticker or MICRO SD CARD into the USB port or SD card slot, press the SOURCE button switch into USB or SD MP3 playback mode; the unit will automatically start readout the MP3 files from device, and play the music.
3. During playing, you can short press PREVIOUS//NEXT/PLAY/PAUSE button to get the relative function.
4. Press TUNING - / TUNING + button to get 10 +/- tracks fast selection in USB/Micro SD card playback mode.
5. Press and hold the PREVIOUS (◀◀) or NEXT (▶) button to activate fast-forward or fast-rewind during playback.

Notes:

1. Before connecting the USB media to the unit, make sure the port is oriented correctly and the connection is secure. Insert the MICRO SD Card straight without bending. Incorrectly connecting the USB storage media or inserting the MICRO SD Card upside down could damage the unit or the media. A locked MICRO SD Card cannot be detected or played.
2. Some USB devices require a minimum voltage to be read and played. If the unit cannot read music in DC (battery) mode, it may be due to weak power. Please try again after replacing the batteries with fresh ones. If the problem persists, contact the local service center.
3. Using an extension cable for USB connection and playback is not recommended, as it may cause intermittent sound output due to signal loss during data transfer.
4. USB/MICRO SD CARD playback is only available when a USB or MICRO SD CARD device is plugged into the unit.
5. The unit supports storage devices up to 32 GB maximum.

AUX IN (MP3 LINK)

The unit includes an AUX IN jack that allows you to play music from an external player (such as an MP3 player) by connecting it with a 3.5mm to 3.5mm stereo audio cable (not included). You can select and play music from your player, and the sound will be output through the radio.

Answer: Please check if the AC power was connected to the power source properly.

Answer: Please move the unit next to the window for better reception.

Please try to adjust the direction of the telescope antenna.

Please try to switch to another radio station.

1. The output sound is intermittent.
