INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE

ADJUSTING TEMPERATURE OF THE IRON

Turn the temperature control knob (13) of the iron so that the indicator (12) points to the temperature suited to the type of fabric you want to iron (see table in fig. 3).

FOR STEAM IRONING

HOW TO FILL THE BOILER WITH WATER

• Always unplug the iron from the outlet when doing this.
- Rest the appliance on a firm flat surface before using it.
- Unscrew the cap (5) in anticlockwise direction and slowly pour the water through the boiler opening.
- Screw up the cap again in clockwise direction.

WARNING!

Do not add more than 0.8 litres of water which is the maximum capacity of the boiler. Use running water to fill the boiler only: never add detergents, perfumed substances, chemical additives or water softeners.

Suggestions: Use distilled water, if the water is particularly calcareous.

HOW TO START

  • Place the iron on the boiler support base (3).
  • Turn the iron temperature control knob (13) to "steam ironing" (see table 3)
  • Completely unwind the cord (7) and plug into outlet.
  • The indicator lamp (14) on the iron will come on immediately and will go out a few minutes after reaching the required temperature.
  • Press the on/off button (2) on the boiler taking it to (1): the indicator lamp will come on when the iron system is ready.
  • The appliance is ready to use when the light (8) turns on.
  • During operation, the light (8) turns on and then automatically turns off indicating that the pressure in the boiler is constantly under control.

WARNING!

Never unscrew the boiler cap (5) while the appliance is working.

IRONING

  • Press button (11) on the iron for the steam jet: the steam will stop coming out when you release the button.
  • The indicator light (14) on the iron and the light (8) will light up and go off automatically while ironing to show that the soleplate is being kept at a constant temperature.
  • Rest the iron on the boiler support base (3) during intervals between ironing.
  • With the iron held upright at a distance of 10/20 ~cm you can use the jet of steam to smooth out creases and freshen up materials while they are hanging.
  • Before ironing delicate fabrics it is best to make trial run on a hidden piece e.g. the hem.
  • We advise you to iron materials needing low temperatures first then go on to more resistant materials, needing higher temperatures, afterwards.
  • To use the continuos steam function, press the steam output key (11) and at the same time slide the cursor (11.A) towards the handgrip. To turn this function off, slide the cursor (11.A) in the opposite direction to the handrigp.

WARNING!

  • Some drops of water may leak out of the iron soleplate (10) when the jet of steam starts coming out; this is quite normal and is due to condensation forming inside the iron-boiler connecting tube (6). This will disappear with the next jet of steam. It is therefore best not to point the first jet of steam directly onto the item to be ironed.
  • Never leave the iron unattended with the plug in the outlet when you are ironing.

NO MORE WATER WHILE IT IS BEING USED

The jet of steam becomes less and finally disappears if there is no more water. Carefully follow the instructions given below to fill up the heater again:

  • switch off the on/off boiler button (2) by turning it to "OFF" (O); the integrated control indicator lamp will go off;
  • press button (11) on the iron, until the boiler is completely empty and no more steam is being produced;
  • unplug the plug from the outlet;
  • slowly unscrew the boiler cap (5) in an anticlockwise direction being careful of any eventual residual steam;
  • fill up the boiler following instructions given in the “How to fill the boiler with water” paragraph;
  • switch on the appliance again following the same instructions given in the “How to start” paragraph.

WARNING!

Always unplug the iron from the outlet before filling the boiler with water.

WHEN YOU HAVE FINISHED IRONING

  • Switch off the boiler on/off button (2) by turning it to "OFF" (O).
  • Empty out all the steam left in the boiler by pressing button (11) on the iron.
  • Switch off the on/off button (3) on the iron by turning it to "OFF" (O).
  • Unplug the plug from the outlet.
  • Rest the iron on the support base (3) and wait for the appliance to completely cool down before putting it away.

WARNING!

Never unscrew the cap (5) without emptying out all the steam from the boiler.

FOR DRY IRONING

  • Rest the iron on the boiler support base (3).
  • Select the right temperature (see table in figure 3) by turning the control knob on the iron (13).
  • Completely unwind the cord (7) and plug into the outlet.
  • The indicator lamp (14) on the iron will immediately light up. The iron has reached the set temperature and is ready to be used when the indicator lamp goes out.
  • Do not press the steam jet button (11) on the iron if you want to dry iron.
  • The indicator lamp (14) on the iron will light up and go off automatically while you are ironing to show that the soleplate is being kept at a constant temperature.
