How do I empty the dust cup on the Imetec Eco E1?

Press the release button on the dust cup and pull it out. Empty the contents into a trash bin. Rinse the dust cup and filter with water and let them dry completely before reassembling.

How often should I wash the filter?

It is recommended to wash the HEPA filter at least once a month, or more frequently if you have pets or allergy concerns.

The vacuum loses suction. What can I do?

Check if the dust cup is full or clogged. Ensure the filter is clean and dry. Also inspect the hose and brush roll for blockages.

Can I use the Imetec Eco E1 on hardwood floors?

Yes, the Eco E1 has a brush roll on/off switch for hard floors. Turn off the brush roll to avoid scratching delicate surfaces.

How do I replace the brush roll?

Unplug the vacuum. Turn it over and remove the brush roll cover. Slide out the old brush roll and insert the new one. Secure the cover back in place.

SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

1. After unpacking, make sure that the appliance is intact with no visible signs of damage caused by transport. Should you have any doubts, do not use the appliance and take it to an authorised IMETEC Service Centre.
2. Packaging materials are not toys! Keep plastic bags away from babies and small children as they pose a suffocation risk.
3. Before connecting the appliance, check that the rating plate specifications correspond to the electrical mains supply. The plate is on the bottom of the appliance.
4. Do not use adaptors, power strips and/or extension cords. If the power plug does not match your socket, have the socket replaced with a matching socket by a qualified technician.
5. This appliance may only be used as a vacuum cleaner according to the purposed for which it was designed. Any other use is considered improper use and should be considered dangerous. In this case, the liability of the manufacturer is voided.

6. Do not use the appliance for vacuuming the following:

7. glowing ashes, cigarette remains or the like;

8. liquids, such as liquid carpet cleaner;
9. sharp or hard objects, such as nails or large glass shards; and
   • fine dust, such as cement or printer toner.

10. Toner dust (for laser printers, copying-machines, etc.)

11. Never operate the vacuum without an inserted dust bag, dust container or filter.

12. The use of any electric appliance implies the observance of some fundamental rules. Specifically:

• never touch the appliance with hands or feet that are wet or damp.
• do not tug the power cord or the appliance to pull the plug out of the socket.
• do not expose the appliance to the elements (rain, sun, etc.).
• do not let children or incapable persons use the appliance without supervision.
• always disconnect the appliance when left unattended.
• never use the appliance with an external timer or a remote control system or similar devices.

1. Before cleaning or servicing the appliance, disconnect it from the mains by removing the plug.

1. Should the appliance break down and/or fail to work properly, turn it off and do not tamper with it. If it needs repairing, take it to an authorised IMETEC Service Centre.
2. Please note that a new appliance may initially give off a certain odour. This is no cause for concern and will go away after a short time. Ensure good ventilation of the room.
3. Do not attempt to replace the power cord. If it is damaged or needs replacing, contact an authorised IMETEC Service Centre.
4. Should you decide not to use the appliance any more, make it inoperative by cutting the power cord after removing the plug from the socket. We also recommend making all potentially dangerous parts of the appliance harmless, particularly for children who might be tempted to play with it.
5. This appliance should not be used by children or persons with partially reduced physical, sensorial or mental faculties, and in any case not without specific knowledge and experience, or without the supervision or instructions for use provided by a responsible person.
6. Children must not be allowed to play with the appliance.
7. To avoid danger from overheating, we recommend to unwind completely and unplug the power cable when the appliance is not operated.
8. Never pull or lift the vacuum cleaner by the cable.
9. Never dip the appliance in water or other liquids.
10. Do not point the flexible vacuum hose, the hose or any other accessory towards eyes or ears and do not put them into your mouth when connected to the vacuum cleaner.
11. Always use the appliance together with the sponge filter to avoid damages to the motor unit and to the vacuum cleaner.

Your appliance does not require any replaceable paper dust bags.

This vacuum cleaner is equipped with cyclone fi lter technology for best performance.

USER INSTRUCTIONS

ASSEMBLY [Fig. B]

• Connect the flexible vacuum hose (5) with the vacuum connection (13) of the appliance. Make certain that the snapping mechanism is positioned correctly; the hose has been installed correctly if it snaps into place [Fig. B1].
• Now connect the hand grip (1) of the vacuum hose to the vacuum tube (3). Set the length of the adjustable telescopic hose by pressing the adjusting button (3B) in the direction indicated by the arrow and pulling the telescoping tube out or pushing it in [Fig. C1].
• Now select the combination brush (4) or the suitable accessory (18) for the surface to be cleaned and attach it to the vacuum tube (3).

ACCESSORIES

Combination brush for carpet / bare floor (4):

Set the combination brush to the floor type with the selector switch (4) [Fig. D1]:

- Selector switch (4A) with line symbol up: for bare floors

- Selector switch (4A) with carpet symbol up: for rugs and carpet

Your appliance is equipped with the following accessories:

Crevice nozzle (18A): Cleaning of corners and crevices, e.g. for radiators, moulding, roller shutters, awnings;

Dust nozzle (18B): Cleaning of small objects, audio and video equipment, computers and furniture;

Upholstery tool (18C): Cleaning of sofas, armchairs, upholstered chairs and curtains;

Parquet brush (18D): Special brush for cleaning of parquet floors.

Note: The accessories can be connected to the vacuum tube (3) or directly to the hand grip. If one of the three accessories is not in use, it can be stored in the accessory holder (19) attached to the telescopic hose (3) [Fig. D2].

USE [Fig. E]

Pull out the power cord (14) completely, but no farther than the red marking, and insert the plug into the power socket. The yellow cord marking is located before the end of the cord with the red marking.

Press the ON/OFF switch (9) once to switch the appliance on or off.

With the electronic power regulation (8), you can adjust the suction power of the appliance. Pushing the power button toward the automatic cord winding button (8B) decreases the suction power [Fig. E1]; while pushing the power button toward the on/off switch (8A) increases the suction power. Select the following settings:

Minimum: For curtains, delicate and fine fabrics

Medium: Perfect for general cleaning, sofas, armchairs, padded chairs, rugs and carpets

Maximum: For smooth floors.

When you turn the appliance on, the last operated power setting is activated.

The suction power can also be changed with the manual airflow regulator (2) on the hand grip (1) [Fig. E2].

Closed: Increases the suction power

Open: Reduces the suction power

Open this regulator to reduce the suction power if an object was sucked up and is blocking the opening.

After finishing your work, switch off the appliance by pressing the ON/OFF switch (9) and pull the power plug out of the socket.

Press the automatic cord winding button (10) to wind up the power cord [Fig. F1]. Hold the plug firmly during the automatic winding to prevent it from whipping around.

The vacuum hose (5) can be disconnected from the appliance for storage. To do this, select the flexible vacuum hose locking buttons (6) and disconnect the flexible vacuum hose.

The vacuum tube (3) or the combination brush (4) can be hung on the appliance for storage; the corresponding figures in the image section are marked with the parking symbol P [Fig. F2, F3].

System Protection Technology:

This appliance features a specific electronic system which monitors the suction air flow and protects the motor (SPT System Protection Technology). In the event of clogging in the suction inlet or if the dust collection housing is full, the SPT LED (20) [Fig. D3] first will blink to indicate such problem: turn the appliance off, remove the object which is causing the clogging, empty the dust collection housing and clean the filters.

If you don't turn the appliance off and keep operating the suction feature, the LED indicator will switch to red and after few seconds the SPT will decrease the suction power to the minimum. In this event, turn the appliance off immediately, remove the object which is causing the clogging, empty the dust collection housing and clean the filters.

MAINTENANCE [Fig. G]

Before opening the appliance, switch it off and pull the power plug from the socket! Before using the appliance again, make certain that all parts cleaned with liquid are completely dry!

Cleaning the appliance:

Clean the appliance as needed with a damp cloth. Do not use solvents or other aggressive or sharp-edged cleaning aids. These could damage the surface.

Cleaning the combination brush (4):

With the motor switched on, run your hand over the brush to loosen clinging dust and lint. These are then directly vacuumed up.

Cleaning the dust collection system (15):

When the vacuum cleaner suction power is decreased or the System Protection Technology light blinks or switches to red, remove the collected dust from the appliance.

Note:

It is strongly recommended that the dust container (15) is emptied and the filters cleaned after every use.

If the power of your vacuum does not improve after cleaning the dust collection system, this could result from the Hepa filter and sponge filter in the appliance being very dirty. In this case, the filters must be replaced. Do as shown in the figures marked with the symbol().

Clean the dust collection system as described below and take note of the figures in the image section.

Cleaning the dust container (15)

• Select the button (6) and disconnect the suction flexible hose (5) from the appliance.
• Push and lift the dust collection system handle (11) to remove it from the appliance [Fig. G1].
• Push the bottom lid opening button (15B) to open the bottom lid (15C) and empty the holder [Fig. G2].

Cleaning the cyclone fi Iter (15D)

• Remove the dust collection system of the appliance [Fig. G1].
• Push the bottom lid opening button (15B) to open the bottom lid (15C).
  • Turn the cyclone filter (15D) anti-clockwise to release it from the support [Fig. G3].
• If the cyclone filter (15D) is clogged up due to dust, wash it carefully in cold water. Be careful not to damage the filter and allow it to dry completely.
• Allow the filter to dry for at least 24 hours after wet cleaning.
• For installation, insert the cyclone filter (15D) on the holder so that the filter lower side cog (arrow) is placed in the engraving of the filter holder.
• Then turn the cyclone filter (15D) clockwise until the cylinder is into place.
• Close the bottom lid (15C).

Replacing the Hepa filter (15E) and the sponge filter (15F)

• Remove the dust collection system of the appliance [Fig. G1].
  • Pull the Hepa filter (15E) out of the holder [Fig. G4].
  • Pull the sponge filter (15F).
• Replace either one or both of them with a new filter.
• Reassemble the appliance and put the exhaust filter grille (7) back in place and allow the catch to snap into place.
• Insert the dust collection system before operating it again.

Note: If there is no Hepa filter, a security device prevents the dust collection system to be inserted inside the appliance.

Replacing the exhaust air fi Iter (16)

• Press on the catch of the exhaust air filter grille (7) and take the filter out [Fig. G5].
• Remove the exhaust air filter from the appliance.
• Replace the exhaust air filter (16) with a new one and put its holder back into place.

Note: Depending on the use of your appliance, the exhaust air filter (16) must be replaced annually.

DISPOSAL

The product packaging consists of recyclable materials. Dispose of these in an environmentally appropriate manner.

In accordance with EU directive 2002/96/EC, the appliance must be disposed of properly at the end of its service life. This involves the recycling of valuable substances contained within the appliance and reduces the impact on the environment. For more information, contact your local disposal company or the store where you purchased the appliance.
