How do I clean the HEPA filter?

Turn off and unplug the vacuum. Open the dust compartment, remove the HEPA filter, and tap it gently to remove loose dust. Rinse it under cold running water and let it dry completely for 24 hours before reinstalling.

Why does my vacuum lose suction?

Check the dust container and empty it if full. Inspect the filters for clogs and clean them. Also check the hose and attachments for blockages. Ensure the cyclonic system is not obstructed.

Can I use the vacuum on both carpet and hardwood floors?

Yes, the ECO E3 is designed for multiple floor types. Use the brush attachment for carpets and the bare floor setting for hardwood to avoid scratches.

How do I change the bag?

This model is bagless. To empty the dust container, press the release button, remove the container, and dispose of the dust into a trash bin. Rinse the container if needed.

What does the 'ECO' mode do?

The ECO mode reduces power consumption and noise for energy-efficient cleaning on lighter dirt. It is ideal for daily maintenance and saves up to 30% energy.

Is the HEPA filter washable?

Yes, the HEPA filter is washable. Rinse it with water and allow it to air dry completely. Do not use detergent or put it in a washing machine.

How often should I replace the filter?

The HEPA filter should be replaced every 6 to 12 months depending on usage. Wash it monthly to maintain performance.

The vacuum smells bad. What can I do?

Empty the dust container and clean the filters. Wipe the inside of the vacuum with a damp cloth. You can also vacuum baking soda to deodorize.

Where can I buy replacement parts?

Replacement parts such as filters and nozzles are available on the Imetec website or authorized retailers. Check the model number ECO E3 for compatibility.

How do I clean the hose?

Detach the hose from the vacuum and straighten it. Use a long brush or a flexible drain snake to remove clogs. Rinse with water if necessary and let dry.

• After removing the appliance from its packaging, check the appliance's integrity referring to the provided design and for any damage caused during transport. Should you have any doubts, do not use the appliance and take it to an authorised Service Centre.
• The packaging material is not suitable for children to play with! Keep the plastic bag out of the reach of children as there is risk of suffocation!
• Before connecting the appliance, check that the voltage indicated on the identification plate corresponds to that of the electrical mains supply available. The identification plate is on the appliance.
• This appliance must be used solely for the purpose for which it has been designed, that is as a vacuum cleaner for home use. Any other use is to be considered improper and therefore dangerous.

ASSEMBLY [Fig. B]

• Connect the suction hose (6) to the appliance suction connector fitting (14). Check that the stop device is in the correct position; it is fitted correctly when you hear it click into place. [Fig. B1]
• Connect the hose handgrip (1) to the suction tube (4). Adjust the length of the telescopic tube by pressing the adjuster button (4A) in the direction of the arrow and move the tube in or out as required [Fig. B2].
• Choose the combined brush (5) or the accessory most suited (21) to the surface that you wish to clean and connect it to the suction tube (4).

ACCESSORIES [Fig. C]

Combined brush for carpets/floors (5):

Use the selector switch (5A) [Fig. C1] to adjust the combined brush to suit the floor being cleaned:

• Selector switch (5A) turned to A (brush extracted): for hard floors
• Selector switch (5A) turned to B (brush retracted): for carpets and rugs

Your appliance is equipped with the following accessories:

Nozzle for vacuuming tight areas (21A): for cleaning tight corners and areas e.g. radiators, skirting boards, rolling blinds, marquise;

Dusting nozzle (21B): designed for cleaning small objects, music centres, TVs, computers and furniture;

Upholstery nozzle (21C): for cleaning sofas, armchairs, upholstered chairs and curtains;

Parquet brush (21D): special brush for cleaning parquet floorings.

NOTE:

- The accessories can be connected to the suction tube (4) or directly onto the handgrip (1). When the accessories are not in use, they can be stored on the accessory holder (3) fitted on the suction tube (4) [Fig. C2].

USE [Fig. D]

Pull the power cord (15) out as far as possible, up to the red marker and plug it into the power socket. The yellow marker on the power cord is found before the red marker at the end of the cord.

Press the ON/OFF switch (10) to turn the vacuum cleaner On and Off.

The vacuum suction power can be adjusted individually using the electronic power control system (11). [Fig. D1]

Minimum (left): for curtains, delicate or fine fabrics

Medium: Ideal for standard cleaning of sofas, armchairs, upholstered chairs, rugs and carpets

Maximum (right): for smooth floors.

When you switch on the appliance, it will start operating with the last power setting used. You can adjust the suction power using the manual air flow control device 2, fitted on the handgrip 1 [Fig. D2].

Closed: Increases the suction power

Open: Reduces the suction power

Open the manual air flow control device to reduce the suction power if something gets sucked into the appliance and blocks the opening.

When you have finished using the appliance, switch it off using the ON/OFF switch (10) and unplug it from the socket.

Rewind the power cord by pressing the automatic rewind button (9) [Fig. D3]. Hold onto the plug while spooling the power cord to prevent lashing.

If necessary, disconnect the suction hose (6) from the appliance before putting it away. To do this, press the hose connection button (7) and disconnect the hose.

Before putting the appliance away, you can hook the suction tube (4) or the combined brush (5); the diagrams in the illustrated handbook are identified by a P - parking sign [Fig. D4-D5]

MAINTENANCE [Fig. E]

Always switch off the appliance and disconnect the plug from the socket before you open it! Before re-using the appliance, make sure that any parts you have cleaned are completely dry!

Cleaning the appliance:

Clean the appliance with a damp cloth when necessary. Never use solvents or other harsh abrasives or cleaners. These substances may damage the surfaces.

Cleaning the combined brush (5):

Switch the motor ON, and run your hand through the bristles to remove any dust or wool which will be suctioned into the bag.

Cleaning the dust collector system (20):

When the vacuum cleaner suction power decreases or the dust collector system (12) indicates that the container is full, remove the collected dust from the appliance.

PLEASE NOTE:

- If the vacuum cleaner suction power does not improve after cleaning the dust collector system, the other vacuum cleaner filters are probably very dirty. In this case they will need replacing.

To this purpose, please proceed as indicated in the diagrams.

Clean the dust collector system following the instructions below and paying attention to the diagrams in the illustrated handbook.

Replacing the dust bag (20 B)

• Press the button (7) and disconnect the suction hose (6) from the appliance.
• Lift the button (13) and open the flap (17) [Fig. E1].
• Release the bag holder (20A) pushing it towards the outside of the dust collector compartment [Fig. E2].
• Pull the cardboard tab to remove the bag (20B), from the bag holder (20A).
• Slide the cardboard tab on the new bag into the bag holder (20A).
• Block the bag support (20A) in a vertical position.
• Close the flap (17) before switching the appliance on again.

PLEASE NOTE:

- A special safety device will prevent the flap from closing if there is no dust bag inside. Do not try to force the flap closed.

PLEASE NOTE:

• After 5 bag changes, the motor protection filter (19A) will also need changing.

Replacing the motor protection filter (19A)

• Lift the lever (13) and open the flap (17) [Fig. E1].
• Lift the motor protection filter out (19A) from its seat and replace it (19) [Fig. E3 e E4] with a new filter insert.
• Close the flap (17) before switching the appliance on again.

Replacing the vacuum air filter (16)

• Press the Hepa filter grid interlock (8) and remove it [Fig. E5].
• Remove the Hepa exhauster filter (16) from the appliance [Fig. E6].
• Replace the Hepa exhauster filter (16) with a new one and slide it back into its seat.
• Replace the Hepa filter cover (8) which should click into the interlock position.

PLEASE NOTE:

- The air exhauster filter (16) should ideally be replaced once a year, according to how much the appliance is used.

DISPOSAL

The product packaging consists of recyclable materials. Dispose of these in an environmentally appropriate manner.

In accordance with EU directive 2002/96/EC, the appliance must be disposed of properly at the end of its service life. This involves the recycling of valuable substances contained within the appliance and reduces the impact on the environment. For more information, contact your local disposal company or the store where you purchased the appliance.
