How to prepare the waterproof housing before first use?
Before any use, perform a leak test empty (without camera) by immersing the housing in water for a few minutes. Check for leaks. Ensure the O-ring is properly installed and greased with the provided silicone grease.
How to perform a leak test with the camera inside?
After loading the camera and closing the housing, immerse it for 3 seconds, then check for droplets. Then immerse for 30 seconds, then for 3 minutes while operating all buttons. If no fog or water appears, the test is successful.
Which batteries to use for the built-in light?
The light uses 2 AAA batteries (alkaline or NiMH). Open the battery compartment, insert the batteries respecting polarities, then close. Battery life is approximately 4 hours continuous with alkaline batteries.
How to correctly open and close the housing?
To open, press and hold the sliding lock and turn the opening dial clockwise. To close, align the marks and turn the dial counterclockwise until it stops. Ensure nothing is caught (strap, silica gel).
What regular maintenance is needed for the O-ring?
After each use, remove the O-ring using the remover, clean it with pure water, check for dirt or cracks, apply a thin layer of silicone grease, then put it back. Replace the O-ring at least once a year.
When should the O-ring be replaced?
The O-ring is a consumable part. Replace it at least once a year, or sooner if it shows cracks, deformation, or loss of elasticity. Use exclusively the Olympus POL-EP03 O-ring.

The silica gel (SILCA-5S) absorbs moisture inside the housing to prevent fogging. Place a 1 g packet between the bottom of the camera and the housing. Replace it at each opening, as it loses its effectiveness after use.
How to connect an external underwater flash?
Use a fiber optic cable (PTCB-E02). Insert the connector into the designated slot on the housing until it stops. For the UFL-2 flash, enable RC mode on the camera. For UFL-1, disable RC.
What to do when traveling by plane?
Before flying, remove the O-ring from the housing. The pressure difference could prevent later opening of the housing. Store the O-ring in a clean place.
How to clean the housing after use in the sea?
After use, remove the camera then close the housing without camera. Immerse it in pure water for 30 minutes to 1 hour to dissolve salt. Operate all buttons underwater. Then dry in the shade with a soft cloth.
