- Keep the receiver unit, transmitter unit, relevant power adapter plugs and the packaging material out of reach of children.
- The baby monitor is no substitute for personal, obligatory supervision by an adult. Therefore, have a look at the baby/child at regular intervals!
- The devices are not intended for medical purposes. Warning and signal tones from respiratory or heartbeat monitoring equipment are not transmitted.
- Do not position the devices too close to each other during operation. They could resonate and it could cause interference.
- Do not use the devices near bathtubs, wash basins, waste water or wet floors.
- Do not locate the devices in the vicinity of sources of heat, such as radiators, and never expose them to direct sunlight.
- Pay attention that the components are sufficiently well-ventilated when in operation. Do not lay a cushion or towel over the devices.
- Under no circumstances should the power adapter plugs be connected with other equipment. Power adapter plugs from other products are not suitable for this system.
- The power adapter plugs heat up during operation, this is normal!
- Battery power, walls, radio waves and local characteristics can affect the range of the baby monitor.
2 Intended Use
The baby monitor serves to monitor a baby/child in a room. The transmitter unit transmits vocal sounds and other acoustic noise from the baby/child to the receiver unit. Any other use is considered unintended use. Unauthorised modification or reconstruction is not permitted. Under no circumstances open the devices or complete any repair work yourself.

4 Starting Up
Inserting the battery
- Open the battery compartment on the receiver unit.
- Insert the battery in the battery compartment and connect the plug from the battery to the socket in the battery compartment. Only use the battery supplied.
- Close the battery compartment. Pay attention that the cable is not jammed.
Charging the battery
Connect the power adapter plug to the receiver unit and a properly installed mains power outlet.
- When the status LED flashes red, the battery must be charged.
- The status LED lights up red while the battery is being charged.
Transmitter unit
- Connect the power adapter plug to the transmitter unit and a properly installed mains power outlet.
- Position the transmitter unit near the baby/child (approx. 1.5 m to 2 m away) and ensure that the microphone is aligned towards the baby/child for optimal transmission.
Ensure that the transmitter unit is out of reach of the baby/child. Never place the transmitter unit in the baby's bed or child's playpen!

Press and hold the On/Off button for approx. 2 seconds to switch the transmitter unit on. The Status LED lights up green.

You can adjust the volume with the aid of the volume control.
Receiver unit
- Ensure that the power adapter plug is connected to a properly installed mains power outlet or that the battery has been inserted correctly according to the polarity and is fully charged.
- The receiver unit must be positioned near the supervising adult.
- Press and hold the On/Off button for approx. 5 seconds to switch the receiver unit on. An acoustic signal is issued and "SEARCHING" appears in the display as long as a connection has not been established to the transmitter unit.
- You can adjust the volume with the aid of the volume control.
Talk function
The talk function on the receiver unit enables the supervising adult to calm the baby/child from a distance.
Press and hold the PTT button and speak clearly into the microphone, the baby/child will hear you. Release the PTT button when you have finished speaking.
Night light function
The transmitter unit has a night light function which should have a calming effect on a baby/child.
You can activate the night light function using the Night Light button on the transmitter unit or the menu in the receiver unit.
Sensibility
You can set the sensibility at which the unit starts to transmit the sounds detected to one of 5 levels. Setting the sensibility to a higher level means that even relatively quiet noises will be transmitted.
Setting the sensibility to a lower level means that transmission of sounds will begin when somewhat louder.
Acoustic alarm function
If the acoustic alarm function is switched on and the volume on the receiver unit is switched off, an acoustic alarm is issued when signals are received from the transmitter unit.
Paging the receiver unit
If you have mislaid your receiver unit, you can sound a paging tone to find it.

paging function can only be activated when both units are switched on.

Press the Paging button on the transmitter unit to activate the paging function.

Press the Paging button on the transmitter unit again to deactivate the paging function.
Maintenance
- Disconnect the equipment from the mains power supply before cleaning it.
- Clean the housing surfaces with a soft, fluff-free cloth.
- Do not use any cleaning agents or solvents.
5 Fault Diagnosis

7 Disposal
In order to dispose of your device, take it to a collection point provided by your local public waste authorities (e.g. recycling centre). According to laws on the disposal of electronic and electrical devices, owners are obliged to dispose of old electronic and electrical devices in a separate waste container. The symbol indicates that the device must not be disposed of in normal domestic waste!

Risks to health and the environment from batteries!
Never open, damage or swallow batteries or allow them to pollute the environment. They could contain toxic and ecologically harmful heavy metals. You are legally obliged to dispose of batteries at the point-of-sale or authorised collection points where the corresponding containers are provided. Disposal is free of charge. The above symbols indicate that the batteries must not be disposed of in domestic waste and that they must be disposed of at an authorised collection point.

8 Guarantee
SWITEL equipment is produced and tested according to the latest production methods. Carefully selected materials and highly developed technology ensure perfect functioning and a long service life. The terms of guarantee do not apply to the batteries or power packs used in the products. The period of guarantee is 24 months from the date of purchase.
All deficiencies related to material or manufacturing errors within the period of guarantee will be redressed free of charge. Rights to claims under the terms of guarantee are annulled following tampering by the purchaser or third parties. Damage caused as the result of improper handling or operation, normal wear and tear, incorrect positioning or storage, improper connection or installation or Acts of God and other external influences are excluded from the terms of guarantee. In the case of complaints, we reserve the right to repair or replace defect parts or provide a replacement device. Replaced parts or devices become our property. Rights to compensation in the case of damage are excluded where there is no evidence of intent or gross negligence by the manufacturer.
If your device does show signs of a defect within the period of guarantee, please contact the sales outlet where you purchased the SWITEL device, producing the purchase receipt as evidence. All claims under the terms of guarantee in accordance with this agreement can only be asserted at the sales outlet. No claims under the terms of guarantee can be asserted after a period of two years from the date of purchase and hand-over of the product.
