As floor and furniture upper surfaces comprise of various materials and are cleaned with various types of polishes and/or cleaning agents, it cannot be completely excluded that some of these substances contain components that could attack ihe rubber pads and soften them. After unpacking the device, immediately check to determine that all listed items are present and that the device is in a fauliless condition. In different countries various national regulations regarding the allocated radio frequency range can exist. Please note that information received outside of the assigned radio frequency ranges may not be used, passed on to third parties or otherwise misused. Mains adapter: (Mains adapter not supplied) Input voltage: 230 V - 50 Hz Output voltage: DC 3V (+/- 5%) — Rated current: min. 300 mA Polarity: << Even when using 3 V mains adapter, a battery must be inserted. Otherwise, the clock will not function. For Model KH2198: Insert the single battery into the upper part of the battery compartment @. The two other batteries, one above the other, power radio operation and the projection. For Model KH2199: Insert the single battery into the compartment marked “CLOCK USE”. À Important: Ensure that you have the correct polarities with the batteries and the power adapter. False polarity will damage the device. The device can be operated as follows: +_ only with batteries , +_with a mains power adapter and a battery for the clock.

2. Insert the three batteries into the battery compartment ®, paying heed
to the polarity markings shown in the battery compartment @. Ensure that the black textile strip is positioned under the batteries, this will make future battery exchanges easier.
3. Close the cover, ensuring that it engages.
KH2199: You require three 1.5 V batteries of the type Mignon / AA / LRO6.
1. Open the cover of the battery compartment @ on the underside.
2. Insert the three batteries into the battery compartment ®, paying heed
to the polarity markings shown in the battery compartment @.
3. Close the cover, ensuring that it engages.

Position the projection clock such that the projection lens @ is directed onto an empty surface. The distance from the projection lens to the projection area (ceiling or wall) must lie between 0,4 m and 3 m. Operation Connect the external mains adaptor This device can be operated with an external mains adaptor. Please use only mains adaptors that meet these specifications: Input voltage: 230 V - 50 Hz Output voltage: DC 3V(+/-5%) Rated current: min. 300 mA Polarity: << À Attention: Make certain that the polarity is correct - both for the batteries as well as for the mains adaptor. Take note of the markings on the 3V direct current connection ® +. False polarity will damage the device.
2. To switch on, turn the volume controller OFF/BUZZ/VOLUME @ until
4. Place the waveband selector switch @ at the desired frequency range
5. Adjust the tuning regulator @ to select the desired radio station. The
frequencies can be read off from the frequency scale ®.
6. To switch off, slide the switch ALARM ON/OFF/AUTO @ into the position
"OFF". ® Note: The radio is only switched off when the switch ALARM ON/OFF/AUTO @ is at the positions OFF or AUTO. To simply turn the sound volume regulator @ to very quiet, until a »Click« is heard, is not sufficient. Setting up the telescope aerial + Remove the telescope aerial @ from its retainer and set it up. *_ Extend the telescope aerial @ completely. To improve reception in the FM frequency range, slowly turn the end of the telescope aerial @ in various directions. As soon as you have found a position with good reception from your desired radio station, leave the telescope aerial @ in this position. For the reception of AM transmissions, an antenna is built into the device. For improved reception, alter the position of the device in radio mode.

1. Press several times consecutively, or press and hold, the button HOUR ®
2. Release the button HOUR @ as soon as the desired hours setting is shown
3. Press several times consecutively, or press and hold, the button MIN ®
4. Release the bution MIN ® as soon as he desired minutes setting is shown
in the display @. The programmed time will be accepted automatically as soon as the button TIME @ is released. Setting the alarm time IFthe clock is set correcily, as described above: Whilst holding the button ALARM @ pressed down:
1. Press several times consecutively, or press and hold, the button HOUR ®
2. Release the button HOUR @ as soon as the desired hours setting is shown
3. Press several times consecutively, or press and hold, the button MIN ®
4. Release the bution MIN ® as soon as the desired minutes setting is shown
in the display @. The adjusted alarm time will be automatically accepted as soon as the button ALARM @ is released.

1. Adjust the tuning regulator @ to select the desired radio station.
3. To activate an alarm call with radio, place the switch ALARM ON/OFF/
AUTO @ at "AUTO", The symbol for the alarm function 4 and "Zz" appear in the display @. Atthe programmed time the radio switches itself on. If you do not touch any other buttons while the alarm is sounding, after about a minute the radio switches itself off. The radio gives its next alarm call on the following day at the programmed time. Snooze Function Pressing the SNOOZE @ button interrupts the alarm tone for approx. 8 minutes. For as long as the snooze function is activated the indicator "Zz" blinks in the display. After these 8 minutes, the alarm tone is repeated. Place the switch ALARM ON/OFF/AUTO @ at "OFF" to switch the alarm function off com- pletely. Wakening with the alarm tone When ihe clock is set correcily, as described above:
1. Place the sound volume controller OFF/BUZZ/VOLUME @ at "OFF/
BUZZ". A "Click" will be heard.
2. To activate a wake-up call with the alarm tone place the ALARM ON/
OFF/AUTO @ at "AUTO". The symbol for the alarm function 4 and "Zz" appear in the display @. The alarm tone sounds at the programmed time. 1f you do not touch any other buttons while the alarm is sounding, after about a minute the alarm tone switches itself off. The radio gives its next alarm call on the following day at the programmed time.

However, avoid looking directly into the light beam and do not aim the beam at other persons or at animals. To display the time correcily on a wall or the ceiling, the hinged projection element needs to be swivelled into the correct position and the room must be appropriately darkened.. . Place the PROJECTION ON/OFF @ switch at ON.
2. Adjust the projection element as desired. The time is projected onto the
required position. The projection distance is approx. 40cm - 3m.
3. Adjust the clarity ofthe projection with the projection focus ®.
Background lighting for the display and projection À onetime pressing of the button PROJECTION LIGHT @ activates the display illumination and the time projection for approx. 10 seconds. Cleaning and care À Attention: Never permit luids to permeate inside the device. The device could also be irreparably damagedl +_ Keep the device and the ventilation openings clean at all times. + Use a soft and dry cloth to clean the device housing. + Never use detergents or solvents that could damage plastics. +_ Check the state and charge condition of the inserted batteries at least once a year. +_ If you do notintend to use the device for an extended period, remove the batteries.

Troubleshooting The device does not function. *_ Batterie have not been inserted. Insert batteries. +_ The batteries are exhausted. Exchange the batteries. +_ The batteries have been inserted incorrecly. Check the poling of the batteries and, if necessary, correct it. The projection is fuzzy. + _ The focus is not correcily programmed. Adjust the clarity ofthe projection with the projection focus ®. +_The distance to the projection area is too small or too large. Place the Projection Alarm Clock at a distance of between 40cm and 3m from the projection area. Disposal Do not dispose of the device in your normal domestic waste. This product is subject to the provisions of European Directive mm 2002/96/EC. Dispose of the device through an approved disposal centre or at your community waste facility. Observe the currently applicable regulations. In case of doubt, please contact your waste disposal centre.

Warranty and Service The warranty for this appliance is for 3 years from the date of purchase. The appliance has been manufactured with care and meticulously examined be- fore delivery. Please retain your receipt as proof of purchase. In the event of a warranty claim, please make contact by telephone with our Service Depart- ment. Only in this way can a postfree despatch for your goods be assured. The warranty covers only claims for material and maufacturing defects, but not for transport damage, for wearing parts or for damage to fragile compo- nents, e.g. buttons or batteries. This product is for private use only and is not intended for commercial use. The warranty is void in the case of abusive and improper handling, use of force and internal tampering not carried out by our authorized service branch. Your statutory rights are not restricted in any way by this warranty. The warranty period will not be extended by repairs made unter warranty. This applies also to replaced and repaired paris.
