Operation

Connect the external mains adaptor

This device can be operated with an external mains adaptor.

Please use only mains adaptors that meet these specifications:

Input voltage: 230 V \~ 50 Hz

Output voltage: DC 3V (+/- 5%)

Rated current: min. 300 mA

Polarity: ⊖—●—⊕

SILVERCREST KH 2199 - Connect the external mains adaptor - 1

Attention:

Make certain that the polarity is correct - both for the batteries as well as for the mains adaptor. Take note of the markings on the 3V direct current connection 10 ⊖—⊕—⊕.

False polarity will damage the device.

Radio operation

  1. Slide the switch ALARM ON/OFF/AUTO ③ into the position "ON".
  2. To switch on, turn the volume controller OFF/BUZZ/VOLUME ⑨ until an audible »Click« is heard.
  3. Using the volume controller OFF/BUZZ/VOLUME ⑨ now set the desired sound volume level.
  4. Place the waveband selector switch ⑤ at the desired frequency range (FM/AM).
  5. Adjust the tuning regulator ⑫ to select the desired radio station. The frequencies can be read off from the frequency scale ⑪.
  6. To switch off, slide the switch ALARM ON/OFF/AUTO ③ into the position "OFF".

i Note:

The radio is only switched off when the switch ALARM ON/OFF/AUTO ③ is at the positions OFF or AUTO. To simply turn the sound volume regulator ⑨ to very quiet, until a »Click« is heard, is not sufficient.

Setting up the telescope aerial

  • Remove the telescope aerial ② from its retainer and set it up.
  • Extend the telescope aerial ② completely.

To improve reception in the FM frequency range, slowly turn the end of the telescope aerial ② in various directions. As soon as you have found a position with good reception from your desired radio station, leave the telescope aerial ② in this position. For the reception of AM transmissions, an antenna is built into the device. For improved reception, alter the position of the device in radio mode.

Setting the time

Projection

Attention! When used properly, the radiation from the projection of the display is not at all dangerous!. However, avoid looking directly into the light beam and do not aim the beam at other persons or at animals.

To display the time correctly on a wall or the ceiling, the hinged projection element needs to be swivelled into the correct position and the room must be appropriately darkened..

  1. Place the PROJECTION ON/OFF ⑦ switch at ON.
  2. Adjust the projection element as desired. The time is projected onto the required position. The projection distance is approx. 40cm - 3m.
  3. Adjust the clarity of the projection with the projection focus 18.

Background lighting for the display and projection

A one-time pressing of the button PROJECTION LIGHT ⑥ activates the display illumination and the time projection for approx. 10 seconds.
