Frequently Asked Questions - Stadium MW8030AM JBL

How do I wire the speaker to my amplifier?
Connect the positive (+) and negative (-) speaker wires from the speaker to the corresponding amplifier outputs. Ensure proper polarity for correct phase.
How do I connect the LED lights?
Plug the 24-gauge black (+), blue, green, and red LED wires into the included female connector. Then run wires from the connector to a compatible 12V power source or light controller. For direct wiring, connect black to positive (+) and the desired color wire(s) to negative (-) to produce one of 7 colors.
What LED colors can I get?
By wiring different combinations, you can achieve red, green, blue, yellow (red+green), purple (red+blue), aquamarine (blue+green), and white (red+blue+green).
Can I remove the tweeter for separate mounting?
Only on the Stadium 8 model. Use the included 2-pin tool: insert pins into tweeter grille holes, rotate 45° clockwise to loosen, then remove. Flush-mount using the bracket and secure by turning 45° counter-clockwise.
What impedance settings are available on the Stadium 10?
The Stadium 10 has a switch to select either 2 ohms or 4 ohms nominal impedance. Choose based on your amplifier's requirements.
Can I wire multiple JBL marine speakers in parallel?
No, due to the low impedance (3 ohms for Stadium 6 and 8), do not wire two or more in parallel to an amplifier. This can cause overheating and damage. For Stadium 10, follow impedance switching guidelines.
How do I properly seal the speaker during installation?
Apply the self-adhesive foam seal to the speaker frame before mounting. This provides a watertight seal and ensures an airtight acoustic seal.
What tools are included in the box?
The box includes the speakers, screws, speed clips, a self-adhesive foam seal, a female connector for LED wires, and a 2-pin tool (Stadium 8 only) for tweeter removal.
What is the recommended installation approach?
Professional installation by an authorized JBL dealer is strongly recommended, as marine speaker installation requires specialized experience. If you proceed yourself, follow all instructions carefully.
How do I flush-mount the tweeter on Stadium 8?
After removing the tweeter, place it into the mounting bracket. Use the 2-pin tool to secure by turning 45° counter-clockwise. Connect the included cable between woofer and tweeter. Then tighten setscrews to lock the bracket and snap the outer ring over them.
