WARNING

Do not place your BT Lyric 1100 in the bathroom or other humid areas.

Handset range

The handset reception range from the base is up to 300m outdoors and up to 50m indoors.

Signal strength

The symbol on your handset indicates when you are in range. When you are out of range a beep will sound every minute.

IMPORTANT

Do not connect the telephone line until the handset is fully charged.

The base station must be plugged into the mains power socket at all times.

Location

You need to place your BT Lyric 1100 close enough to a mains power and telephone socket so that the cables will reach.

Make sure it is at least 1 metre away from other electrical appliances to avoid interference.

Your BT Lyric 1100 works by sending radio signals between the handset and base. The strength of the signal depends on where you site the base. Putting it as high as possible ensures the best signal.

Setting up

1. Plug the power adaptor and telephone cables into the underside of the base.

1. Plug the power adaptor into the mains wall socket and switch the power on. The green Power light on the base comes on.
2. Install the 2 x NiMH AAA batteries supplied. Then slide the battery compartment cover into place.

1. Charge the handset for at least 16 hours by placing the handset on the base. The red Charging light comes on. The handset is pre-registered to the base as BT Lyric. This is shown in the display.
2. After 16 hours charging, plug the telephone line cord into the wall socket.

Your BT Lyric 1100 is ready for use.

Talk/Standby time

Under ideal conditions, the handset batteries should give about 14 hours talk time or 350 hours standby on a single charge. (The base must still remain plugged in to the mains and switched on at all times.)

Please note that new NiMH batteries do not reach full capacity until they have been in normal use for several days.

Battery low warning

When the handset battery symbol is empty and flashing, and there is a warning beep every 10 seconds, you will need to recharge the handset before using it.

See 'Battery performance' on the following page.

8 Getting started

Battery performance

To keep your batteries in the best condition, leave the handset off the base for a few hours at a time (after the initial 16 hour charge). Running the batteries right down at least once a week will help them last as long as possible.

After charging your handset for the first time, subsequent charging time is about 6–8 hours a day. Batteries and handset may become warm during charging. This is normal.

The charge capacity of rechargeable batteries will reduce with time as they wear out, giving the handset less talk/standby time. Eventually they will need to be replaced. New batteries are available from the BT Lyric 1100 Helpline on 0870 605 8047.

Up/Volume/Redial/Pause

Navigating the menus...

Your BT Lyric 1100 handset uses a menu system which is easy to use. In most cases each menu leads to a list of options. Have a look at the menu map on the following page.

When the handset is switched on and in standby, press

Menu open the main menu and use the and

scroll buttons to highlight the menu you want.

Press Menu again to open the list of options.

Once the menu list you want is open, use the 📁 to scroll though the options and the 📁ton to select the option you want.

For example, to change the handset ringer volume:

1. Press Menu 📂 open the main menu then to display Handset Menu. Press Menu 📂 when to display Ring Volume.

2. Press Menu 📋 when or to select volume 1-5 or Off. Then press Menu 📋 confirm.

Press the Menu button to access menus and select options.

Use the scroll buttons to navigate through menus and options.

Switch handset on/off

1. Press and hold to switch off. Press and release again to switch on.

Make an external call

1. Press listen for the dial tone then dial the number.

Preparatory dialling

1. Enter the number first. If you make a mistake press to delete. Press 📄 dial.

End a call

1. Press ☑ place the handset back on the base.

Receiving calls

When the phone rings, the display shows External Call and the EXT symbol flashes.

If you have subscribed to your network's Caller Display service, the caller's number (and name if stored in the phonebook) is displayed. See page 23 for more information.

1. Press to answer the call or, if the handset is on the base, simply lift it and speak.

Dialling numbers quickly

Numbers can also be dialled direct from the phonebook (page 20), the calls list (page 24), or the redial list (page 17).

Call timer

Your handset automatically times the duration of every external call. The time is shown during the call and for a few seconds after the call has ended.

Auto-answer

If you would rather press Talk to receive a call when the handset is on the base, you need to switch Auto-answer off, see page 29.

Earpiece volume

You can adjust the earpiece/loudspeaker volume. There are 5 levels to choose from.

During a call:

1. Use the and button is to select volume 1-5. Press confirm.

In standby:

1. Press ☑ open the main menu then to scroll to Handset Menu. Press ☑ en to scroll down to Ear Volume.

2. Press ☑ then scroll to the required volume level. Then press ☑

Loudspeaker volume

To adjust loudspeaker volume follow the steps as per earpiece volume above.

Handsfree

Handsfree lets you talk to your caller without holding the handset. It also enables other people in the room listen to both sides of your conversation.

You can switch to handsfree before or during a call.

1. Press 📄 display shows the icon

2. To switch handsfree off, press ①ain.

3. To end the call press

Secrecy

During a call, you can talk to someone nearby without your caller hearing you.

1. During the call press 📁 isplay shows Secrecy On. Your caller cannot hear you.

2. Press again to return to your caller.

Redial a number from the redial list

You can redial up to 5 of the last numbers called. If the number is stored in the phonebook, the name will also be displayed (see 'Phonebook', page 20).

1. Press the use the and buttons to scroll through the list. The most recently dialled number is shown first.

2. Press 9 redial the number.

Paging

You can alert handset users that they are wanted or locate a missing handset. (Paging calls cannot be answered by a handset.

1. Press the base. The handset(s) ring. Display shows Passing.
2. To stop a handset ringing press any button on it the keypad.

Direct Call

You can enter a telephone number into the handset which can be used as an emergency quick dial – for example by a babysitter.

When direct call is switched on, press any button on the handset (except 📋 and the direct call telephone number will be dialled automatically.

Set a direct call number

1. Press when scroll down to Direct Call. Press
   again and scroll down to Number. Press
2. Enter the telephone number you want. Press
3. Press and hold to return to standby.

Switch direct call on

1. Press when scroll down to Direct Call.
2. Press and scroll down to On. Press confirm.
   The display will show Direct Call until you switch direct call off.

Switch direct call off

1. Press . Your handset displays and scroll up to OFF. Direct Call. Press
2. Press switch direct call off.

Phonebook

Entering names

Use the keypad letters to enter names, e.g. to store TOM:

Press 8 once to enter T. Press 6 three times to enter U. Press 6 once to enter M.

Writing tips

Press 1 once to insert a space twice to insert number 1 three times for underscore four times for a hyphen

Available characters are displayed at the top of the screen.

Inserting numbers/characters

Use button to move left and button to move right to insert characters or numbers.

Deleting numbers/characters

If you make a mistake, press ✗ to delete the last character or digit.

You can store up to 40 entries in the phonebook. Each entry contains a name and phone number. Names can be up to 8 characters long and numbers up to 20 digits.

Add a new phonebook entry

1. Press to install to Ed. Phonebook. Press Display shows Add Entry.

2. Press display Name. Use the keypad to enter a name.

3. Press . Display shows Number. Enter the phone number and press . Display shows Stored. It's best to enter the full number, including the area code (see 'Caller Display' on page 23).

4. Either press to enter another entry or press and hold ✗ to return to standby.

Dial from the phonebook

1. Press to enter the phonebook.

2. Either, use and to pull to the entry you want and press radial.

Or, search alphabetically by pressing the relevant key, e.g. to find TOM, press scroll through entries under T, then press dial.

Edit an entry

1. Press √roll down to Ed. Phonebook and press √

2. Press to scroll to Edit Entry and press

Then scroll to the entry you want to edit and press .The name is displayed.

1. Press delete characters and enter the new name.

Press confirm. The number is displayed.

1. Press ☐ delete digits and enter the new number.

Press confirm.

1. Press and hold to return to standby.

Delete entries

1. Press √roll down to Ed. Phonebook and press √

2. Press @ scroll to Delete Entry and press √

3. Scroll to the entry you want to delete and press .

Delete? is displayed.

1. Press confirm.

2. Press and hold to return to standby.

Inserting numbers/characters

Use button to move left and button to move right to insert characters or numbers.

Pause

You may also need to insert a pause when storing international dialling codes, charge card numbers and with other tele-banking facilities.

For more information on use with a switchboard, see page 43.

Insert a 'pause' in a stored number

Some internal switchboards may require you to enter an access code (e.g. 9) to get an outside line. So that the switchboard has time to pick up an outside line before the rest of the number is dialled, you may need to add a pause in the dialling sequence. For example:

1. When storing a number, at the point you want to insert a pause, press and hold up all F is displayed.

You can enter as many pauses as required.

Caller Display & the calls list

Caller Display

If you subscribe to a Caller Display service you can see who is calling you on your handset display.

If the caller's number matches an entry stored in the phonebook, the name will be displayed as well.

Caller Display information contains the full telephone number, including the area code. So when storing numbers in the phonebook remember to include the area code, otherwise the caller's number will not match.

Calls list

Whether you answer a call or not, the caller's number and the date and time of the call are stored in the calls list. The calls list stores the details of your last 20 callers.

You can display, scroll through and dial numbers on the list and copy them into the phonebook.

If a call is received when the calls list is full, the oldest entry will be deleted automatically.

IMPORTANT

To use Caller Display and Call Waiting you must first subscribe to the service from your network provider. A quarterly fee is payable.

Caller information not available

Occasionally the telephone number of the caller is not available and cannot therefore be displayed.

In this case your BT Lyric 1100 provides you with some explanatory information.

UNAVAILA

The number is unavailable.

WITHHELD

The caller has withheld their number.

RINGBACK

Ringback call.

OPERATOR

The call has been made via the operator.

PAYPHONE

The caller is ringing from a payphone.

INTERNAT

International call.

New calls indicator

New calls are entries in the calls list that have not yet been viewed.

For example, if someone calls while you are out that call will be added to the calls list as a 'new call'.

The new calls indicator shows how many new calls you have.

View the calls list

1. Press ☑ open the calls list. Then use the and 🔊 buttons to scroll through the list.

1. If the name and number of the caller has been stored in the phonebook these will be displayed.

Dial a number in the list

1. Press 📋 open the calls list then scroll to the entry you want.

2. Press radial the number.

Copy a number to the phonebook

1. Press 📞 open the calls list, scroll to the entry you want and press √ display shows Add Entry and Delete.

2. Press 📄 to select Add Entry then press 📋 Display shows Name.

3. Enter the name and press to confirm. Once copied to the phonebook the entry will be deleted from the calls list.

Delete from list

1. Press 📋 open the calls list, scroll to the entry you want and press √ display shows Add Entry and Delete?

2. Press 📄 to s+ct Add Entry or Delete? then press 🕒

Call Waiting

Providing you have subscribed to your network's provider's Call Waiting service, you will hear a soft beep every 5 seconds if an incoming call arrives while you are already on the phone. This beep is not audible to the person you are speaking to. The second caller's number (and name if stored in the phonebook) will appear on the handset display.

Instead of the engaged tone, the second caller will hear an announcement asking them to hold the line.

Speak to a second caller

1. Press R answer the second call and put you current caller on hold. Press Rain to return to your first caller and to switch between both callers.

The second caller is only charged from the second you answer, not while they are waiting to be connected.

Or

1. If you want to end the current call and pick up the waiting call, press The handset will ring. Press again to connect to the waiting caller.

Handset settings

Handset ringer volume

1. Press 📷n to smell to Handset Menu.

Then press

1. Scroll down to Rina Vol and press 📋 The current setting is played.

2. Use the and buttons to select Volume 1-5 or Volume Off. A sample ring is played. Press confirm.

Handset ringer melody

You can set separate melodies for internal and external calls and there are 5 melodies to choose from.

1. Press 📋n to s 🌐ll to Handset Menu.

Then press

1. Scroll down to Int. Melody or Ext. Melody and press √. The current melody is played.

2. Use the and buttons to hear different melodies.

Press √ select the new melody.

You can now either select a different Internal or External call melody or press and hold to return to standby.

While the phone is ringing you can adjust the ring volume by pressing

or

When the keypad lock is on, the icon will be displayed.

Keypad lock

Locking the keypad prevents numbers from being accidentally dialled while carrying the handset around.

Switch keypad lock on

1. Press 📄 on to scull to Keypad lock. Then press 📄

2. Press to select On then confirm.

Switch keypad lock off

1. Press 📋n to select Off. Press 🔒 confirm.

Keypad beeps

You can have the keypad and warning beeps switched on or off.

1. Press 📄 to scill to Handset Menu. Then press 📄 display shows Warning Tones. Press 📄

2. Use the and butts is to select the tones you want switch on or off: Key Press, Low Battery or Out of Range. Then press √

3. Press 📞 to select On or Off. Press 🌐 confirm.

Auto-answer

When the handset it on the base, you can answer a call just by picking it up. When auto-answer is switched off, you will always have to press 📄answer a call. The default setting is On.

Switch auto-answer on/off

1. Press 📋n to s̄all to Handset Menu.

Then press

1. Scroll down to Auto Answer. Press 📄en or to select On or Off. Press 📋confirm.

Name a handset

The handset name is pre-set to BT LYRIC If you add additional handsets, you can give each handset a different name, for example Kitchen or Office.

1. Press 📷n to smell to Handset Menu.

Then press √Menu

1. Scroll down to Handset Name and press

2. Press ☑ delete the current name. Enter the name you want. (If you make a mistake, press ☑ delete the last character.) Press ☑ confirm.

Each handset name can have a maximum of 8 characters.

Inserting numbers/characters

Use button to move left and button to move right to insert characters or numbers.

Additional handsets

See page 35 for more information on adding additional handsets.

Handset language

You can change the language used on the handset display. Handset languages are English, French, German, Dutch, or Portuguese.

1. Press to scroll to Handset Menu. Then press

2. Scroll down to Language and press

3. Use the 📐 and buttons to scroll through the languages English, Français, Deutsch, Dutch or Português. Press √ confirm.

Base settings

Set date and time

1. Press open to sell to
   Setup, then press
2. Press to select Date/Time Setting. Display shows the date.
3. Enter the day and month, e.g. 17 June = 17 Jun. Press √ display shows the time.
4. Enter the time using the 24 hour clock, e.g. 4.30pm = 16.30. Press confirm.

Base ringer volume

Choose from 5 levels (1–5) or you can turn the ringer off.

1. Press don to sell to
   Setup. Then press
2. Press scroll to Base Volume and press The current volume setting is played and displayed.
3. Use the and buttons to select Volume 1-5 or Volume Off. Press confirm.
4. Press and hold to return to standby.

If you subscribe to your network's Caller Display service, the date and time are set automatically when your BT Lyric 1100 receives its first call.

When new handsets are registered to the base, they will also receive the current date or time.

If the mains power to the base is cut, the date and time are saved on the handset.

IMPORTANT

If you change the base PIN, make sure you keep a record of the new number on page 54.

Base ringer melody

Choose from 5 base ringer melodies.

1. Press then to install to Setup. Then press

2. Press to scroll to Base Melody and press

3. Use the and buttons to hear different melodies. Press √ select the new melody.

4. Press and hold to return to standby.

Base PIN (Personal Identification Number)

You need your base PIN when registering handsets and for other optional settings. The default PIN is 0000, so you may wish to change this to a more unique number.

1. Press then to install to Setup. Then press

2. Scroll down to PIN Code and press

3. Enter the current 4-digit PIN (default 0000) then press to confirm.

4. Enter the new 4-digit PIN, press and enter the new PIN again. Press confirm.

5. Press and hold to return to standby.

Reset to original settings

You can reset your BT Lyric 1100 to its original/default settings.

1. Press men to scull to

Setup. Then press

1. Scroll down to Default and press

1. Enter the current 4-digit PIN (default 0000) then press to confirm. The handset display flashes BASE 1 and then LYRIC 1. Your BT Lyric 1100 is now reset.

A list of the default settings is shown on the following page.

WARNING

Resetting your phone to its original settings will delete any entries in the Phonebook, Redial and Calls list.

Additional handsets & bases

Up to 5 handsets can be registered and operated from any one BT Lyric 1100 base. Each handset can be registered on up to 4 bases. This gives you the flexibility to build your own phone system without the need for any additional wiring or sockets.

Features available with additional handsets:

Transfer an external call from one handset to another.
■ Make an internal call between handsets.
■ Conduct a 3-way conversation between an external caller and another internal handset.
■ Make an internal call between two handsets while a third is making an external call.
- Set a ring priority so that one handset rings before all the others.

Please note

Your handset is supplied pre-registered as BT Lyric 1 to its base (Base 1).

Each additional handset you buy must be registered with the base.

Remember to charge the batteries of new handsets for at least 16 hours before first use.

If the display shows Not Sub, and (SIGNAL) is flashing, your handset is not yet registered with the base.

Naming additional handsets

Once you have registered additional handsets you may wish to give them a different name, see page 29.

Please note you cannot de-register the handset you are using.

Register handset to base

Make sure the handset is close to the base.

1. At the base: Press and hold Page until you hear two beeps (after about 10 seconds). Release Page

2. At the handset: Press 📋 then scroll to Registration. Press ⚫ display shows Base 1-4. Ticks indicate other bases the handset is registered to (if any).

3. Enter 1-4 for the base you want to register to followed by your 4-digit PIN (default 0000). Press

4. Display shows Base search 1, 2, 3, 4. The icon flashes until the handset locates the base.

If the handset does not find the base, it will try to go back to the previous menu. If this happens, try registering again using a different base number.

De-register handsets

1. Press 📋n scroll down to Setup and press √

2. Scroll down to Remove HS and press √

3. Enter your 4-digit PIN (default 0000). Press

4. Use the and buttons to select the handset (1-5) you want to de-register. Press

5. Press again to confirm.

Once de-registered, the handset display shows Not Sub.

Register handset to a different make of base

1. At the base: Set the base in registration mode, see the base's user guide.
2. At the handset: Press 📋 when scroll to Registration. Press ⚫ display shows Base 1-4. Ticks indicate other bases the handset is registered to (if any).
3. Enter 1-4 for the base you want to register to. Press
4. Enter your 4-digit PIN (default 0000). Press
5. Display shows Base search 1, 2, 3 4. The icon flashes until the handset locates the base. When the base is located press confirm.

If the handset does not find the base, it will try to go back to the previous menu. If this happens, try registering again using a different base number.

Base compatibility

The other manufacturer's base must be GAP compatible.

Check with the literature that came with the other base to see if this is this case.

Base identity number

Follow these instructions to check the individual code number of the base.

1. Press then scroll down to Setup and press
2. Scroll down to Base ID. Press √ display the number.
3. Press and hold to return to standby.

Select base

If a handset it registered to more than one base, you can select which one it will use. (For more information on registering your handset to another base, see page 36.)

2. Scroll down to Select Base and press

3. Use the and buttons to select the base (1-4) and press confirm.

Set ring priority

This allows you to make the base of one of the handsets ring before the others when you receive an external call.

You can select which base or handset will ring and how many rings it can make before the others start to ring.

1. Press 📂 en to install to Setup. Then press 🕒

2. Scroll down to Ring Priority and press

3. Scroll down to Def. Priority and press

4. Use the pad buttons to select the base or handset you want, then press √

5. Now use the and buttons to select the number of rings 1–9, then press confirm.

Switch ring priority on/off

Once ring priority has been set, you can switch it on or off to provide normal ringing.

1. Press 📄 to smell to Setup. Then press ✅

2. Scroll down to Ring Priority and press

3. Press ☑ select On or Off and press 📋 confirm.

4. Press and hold to return to standby.

The Int icon will be displayed during an internal call.

Use of additional handsets

Making internal calls

If you have more than one handset registered to the base, you can make internal calls between handsets.

1. Press and hold uRill Internal Call is displayed and enter the handset number (1–5) you want to call.

2. Press #end the call.

Transferring calls

You can transfer an external call to another handset registered to the base.

1. During an external call: Press and hold R ^Int until Internal Call is displayed.

2. Enter the number of the handset you want to transfer the call to. The caller is put on hold. When the other handset answers you can talk to them then press to transfer the call.

If the handset does not answer, press and hold to speak to your caller again.

3-way conversation

You can talk to one external caller and another internal caller at the same time on your handset.

1. During an external call: Press and hold R ^Int to put your caller on hold.
2. Enter the handset number you want.
3. When the handset answers, press and hold for about 3 seconds. You can now start your 3-way conversation.
   If the handset does not answer, press and hold to speak to your caller again.
4. Press and the call.

Room monitor

If you have at least two handsets registered to your BT Lyric 1100 base you can leave one handset in a room and monitor the sounds in the room by making an internal call to another handset. This could be used, for example, in a child's bedroom.

Switch room monitor on

1. Press √roll down to Monitor Mode then press √

2. Use the and buttons to select Off or On.

3. Press scroll down to Monitor Mode then press

4. Use the and buttons to select Off or On.

1. Enter the handset number of the handset you have left in the room to be monitored. Press and hold .R ^Int

Switchboard compatibility

This product is intended for use within the UK for connection to public telephone network and compatible switchboards, which support tone dialling and timed break recall. If in doubt please consult your network service provider.

Switchboard external line access code

Some internal switchboards may require you to enter an access code (e.g. 9) to get an outside line. So that the switchboard has time to pick up an outside line, you may also need to add a pause after the access code.

To insert an access code followed by a pause

If you use your phone with two separate switchboards you can set up two separate access codes. Then you can simply select which switchboard you are using your phone with.

This feature can also automatically insert a pause between the access code and the phone number stored in the Phonebook.

Recall

The Rutton is used when connected to certain switchboards and for some BT Calling Features or those services available via your network provider.

Dialling mode

Your BT Lyric 1100 is pre-set to tone dialling. If required you can switch it to pulse dialling.

To set dialling mode

1. Press en to install to Setup. Then press
2. Scroll down to Dialling Mode and press
3. Press 📂 to select either press 🌐 confirm. Tone or Pulse, then
4. Press and hold to return to standby.

Help

Many common problems are caused by the telephone and power cables being incorrectly connected, not connected at all, or the power being turned off.

Please check that your BT Lyric 1100 has been correctly set up, see page 6, before ringing the BT Lyric 1100 Helpline.

No ring on the handset	Check that the ringer volume is switched on, see page 27. Check that the base is plugged into the phone socket and that it is also connected to the mains power and switched on.
Buzzing noise on my Sometimes, your BT Lyric 1100 and other DECT GAP radio, TV, computer compatible handsets can interfere with other electrical or hearing aid equipment if it is placed too close. Move it at least one metre away from such appliances.
The base is not Check that the base is plugged into the mains socket charging the handset and switched on.
Cannot adjust an option in the base	Someone else might be making changes using another handset. Try again when the other handset user has finished.

IMPORTANT

This equipment is not designed for making emergency telephone calls when the power fails. Alternative arrangements should be made for access to emergency services.

Safety

General

■ Only use the power supply included with the product. Using an unauthorised power supply will invalidate your guarantee and may damage the telephone. The item code for the mains power supply is 872260. If you have purchased the BT Lyric 1100 Twin, the item code for the charger mains power supply is 003313.
■ Only use approved AAA NiMH rechargeable batteries.
Do not open the handset or base. This could expose you to high voltages or other risks. Contact the BT Lyric 1100 Helpline on 0870 605 8047 for all repairs.
■ Radio signals transmitted between the handset and base may cause interference to hearing aids.
It is recommended that advice from a qualified medical expert be sought before using this product in the vicinity of emergency/intensive care medical equipment.
It is recommended that if you have a pacemaker fitted you check with a medical expert before using this product.
- Your product may interfere with other electrical equipment, e.g. TV and radio sets, clock/alarms and computers if placed too close. It is recommended that you place your product at least one metre away from such appliances to minimise any risk of interference.

■ Never dispose of batteries in a fire. There is a serious risk of explosion and/or the release of highly toxic chemicals.

Cleaning

Simply clean the handset and base with a damp (not wet) cloth, or an anti-static wipe. Never use household polish as this will damage the product. Never use a dry cloth as this may cause a static shock.

Environmental

■ Do not expose to direct sunlight.
The product may heat up when the battery pack is being recharged. This is normal. However, we recommend that you do not place the product on antique/veneered wood to avoid damage.
- Do not stand your product on carpets or other surfaces which generate fibres, or place it in locations preventing the free flow of air over its surfaces.
- Do not submerge any part of your product in water and do not use it in damp conditions, such as bathrooms.
- Do not expose your product to fire, explosive or other hazardous conditions.
There is a slight chance that your phone could be damaged by an electrical storm. We recommend that you unplug the power an telephone line cord for the duration of the storm.

Technical information

How many telephones can you have?

All items of telephone equipment have a Ringer Equivalence Number (REN), which is used to calculate the number of items which may be connected to any other telephone line. Your BT Lyric 1100 has a REN of 1. A total REN of 4 is allowed. If the total REN of 4 is exceeded, the telephone may not ring.

With different telephone types there is no guarantee of ringing, even when the REN is less than 4.

■ Only use approved the supplied mains power adaptor, item code: 876220.
If you have purchased the BT Lyric 1100 Twin, the item code for the charger mains power supply is 003313.
■ Only use approved AAA NiMH rechargeable batteries.

Guarantee

Your BT Lyric 1100 digital cordless telephone is guaranteed for a period of 12 months from the date of purchase.

Subject to the terms listed below, the guarantee will provide for the repair of, or at BT's or its agent's discretion the option to replace the BT Lyric 1100, or any component thereof, (other than batteries), which is identified as faulty or below standard, or as a result of inferior workmanship of materials. Products over 28 days old from the date of purchase may be replaced with a refurbished or repaired product.

The conditions of this guarantee are:

■ The guarantee shall only apply to defects that occur within the 12 month guarantee period.
■ Proof of purchase is required.
■ The equipment is returned to BT or its agent as instructed.
This guarantee does not cover any faults or defects caused by accidents, misuse, fair wear and tear, neglect, tampering with the equipment, or any attempt at adjustment or repair other than through approved agents.
■ This guarantee does not affect your statutory rights.

Outside of the 12 month guarantee period:

If your product needs repair after the guarantee period has ended, the repair must meet the approval requirements for connection to the telephone network. We recommend that you contact BT's approved repair agent, TecLogic on 01672 564444 or a local qualified repairer.

Returning your phone

If the Helpline is unable to remedy your problem they will ask you to return the product. Where possible, pack the product in its original packaging. Please remember to include all parts, including the line cords, power supply units and the original batteries. (Please note that we cannot take responsibility for goods damaged in transit.) Please obtain and keep proof of posting from the Post Office.
