Frequently Asked Questions - 4751FL Flama

How to light my Flama 4751FL barbecue?
Remove the cooking grill, place crumpled newspaper and small kindling at the center of the firebox, cover with charcoal. Light the paper with a long match. Leave the lid open until the flames die down and the charcoal becomes glowing (about 20 minutes). Spread the embers with a metal rod and replace the grill.
What is the size of the 4751FL barbecue?
The grill diameter is 47 cm, with a total height of about 80 cm. The weight is about 5.5 kg.
Can this barbecue be used on a balcony?
Using a charcoal barbecue on a balcony is not recommended due to fire risks and CO emissions. Prefer a well-ventilated outdoor space away from any combustible materials.
How to clean the barbecue grill?
After cooling, scrub the grill with a wire brush. For deep cleaning, use a non-toxic degreaser or a baking soda paste. Rinse with clean water and dry thoroughly before storing.
Is the barbecue easy to transport?
Yes, the legs are foldable and the barbecue disassembles easily. Fold the legs, remove the ash pan and grill, then carry everything in a suitable storage bag (not included).
What accessories are compatible with this model?
This model accepts 47 cm replacement grills, standard ash pans, and protective covers for medium-sized round barbecues. Check compatibility before purchasing.
How to adjust the barbecue temperature?
The temperature is adjusted by adjusting the ventilation: open the ash door for more oxygen (higher heat) or close it to reduce heat. The grill height (3 positions) also allows you to modulate cooking.
Is the lid fixed or removable?
The lid is removable. It simply sits on the barbecue bowl. There is no hinge.
What safety precautions to take?
Place the barbecue on a flat, non-flammable surface. Do not move it while in use. Keep children and pets away. Use heat-resistant gloves to handle the grill and lid. Never pour flammable liquid onto the embers.
How to get spare parts?
Contact Flama customer service or check online retailers. Refer to model 4751FL. Common parts (grill, ash pan) are often available.

OPERATION

Before Initial Use

Remove the appliance and accessories from the box. Peel off stickers, films, or protective plastics from the appliance, except for the technical specifications plate.

Before using the appliance for the first time, clean all removable parts with a damp cloth. Never use abrasive products.

Lightly grease the cooking plate with a small amount of vegetable oil.

Assembly of the Appliance

Place the appliance on a level and stable surface. Avoid placing it on hot surfaces. It is recommended to use a heat-resistant barrier between the appliance and your table to prevent any damage to the table or tablecloth. Ensure proper ventilation when using the appliance indoors.

Place the grease collection tray in the base.

The appliance should not operate without the grease tray.

Position the cooking plate on the base. Insert the control box into the connection on the cooking plate. Ensure the plate is correctly positioned on the base before inserting the control box.

Connect the power cord to the outlet.

Turn the temperature control button to the highest setting and let the appliance heat for 5 to 7 minutes.

Note: When you turn on the appliance for the first time, it may emit a slight odor. This smell is normal and temporary, dissipating after a few minutes. Ensure the area is well-ventilated.

Use

Place a small amount of water in the grease collection tray (max. 0.8L) to facilitate cleaning after operation.

Preheat the appliance at the highest level for a few minutes until the indicator light goes out.

Lightly grease the cooking plate with a small amount of cooking oil.

Use the temperature control button to set the desired temperature based on the food you intend to cook.

The thermostat will maintain a constant temperature. During cooking, the indicator light will cycle on and off, indicating normal and constant temperature adjustments.

When flipping food, always use wooden or heat-resistant plastic utensils to avoid scratches and damage to the plate's surface, as this could harm the non-stick coating.

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

Caution: The appliance (base, tray, plate, and control box) is not dishwasher-safe.

Before cleaning, disconnect the appliance from the power outlet and allow it to cool.

You do not need to wait until it is completely cool, as cleaning is easier while the plate is still warm.

Always clean the plate after each use to prevent food residues from adhering. Use kitchen paper to clean the plate. Stubborn particles can be removed with a small amount of oil.

Never pour cold water onto the hot plate, as this can damage the appliance and cause splashing of hot water.

Clean the rest of the appliance with a damp cloth. Avoid using abrasive detergents, as they can damage the non-stick coating.

Wipe all parts of the appliance with a damp cloth. Do not use aggressive or abrasive cleaning products, metal sponges, or steel wool, as they may cause damage.

Remove and empty the grease collection tray after each use and wash it with warm water and detergent. Dry it with a dry cloth.

Do not immerse the appliance (base, tray, plate, and control box) in water or any other liquid.
