This manual is an integral part of the appliance and must be carefully read before using it as it gives important indications with regard to safety of installation, use and maintenance. Keep it with care.

• After taking off the packing make sure that the appliance is intact. In case of doubt do not use it and contact our service center calling toll-free number 800-753688.
- Do not leave pieces of packing (plastic bags, polystyrene foam, nails etc.) within reach of children or persons with reduced mental capabilities, since these are potential sources of danger.
- The electrical safety of this appliance is ensured only if it is correctly connected to an effective earthing system in compliance with the existing electrical safety standards. LANGE DISTRIBUTION shall not be held responsible for any damage caused by the lack of an earthing system.
- Before connecting the plug to the outlet check that the working voltage of the appliance corresponds to the one in your house. If in doubt, contact professionally qualified staff.
- Use of adaptors, multiple outlets and extension leads is not advisable. In case of necessity use exclusively approved appliances in conformity with the current safety regulations while making sure that they are compatible with the appliance power. If in doubt, contact professionally qualified staff.
- Any installation which doesn't comply with what is specified can endanger your safety and the warranty expires.
- The appliance must only be used to iron cloths for domestic purposes.
- For safety reasons pay attention and:

  • do not use the appliance when you are barefoot or having wet hands or feet

  • do not leave the appliance exposed to atmospheric agents (sun, rain, etc.)
  • never pull the power cord or the appliance itself in order to disconnect the plug from the outlet
  • do not leave the appliance unattended when it is plugged into the main power supply
  • never immerse the appliance in water or other liquids

ENGLISH

  • The appliance can be used by children aged from 8 and above and by people with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, only if they have been given supervision or instructions concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved. Children shall not play with the appliance. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children without supervision.
  • The power cord of the appliance should never be replaced by the user himself. In case of necessity please contact our service center calling toll-free number 800-753688.
  • In case of failure and/or malfunctioning of the appliance, turn it off and do not tamper with it. For any repairs please contact our service center calling toll-free number 800-753688.
  • This appliance contain several reusable or recyclable materials. At the end of its life cycle, make the appliance unusable by disconnecting first it from mains and then, cutting off the power cord. For the disposal of the appliance follow the regulations which are in force in your place of residence.

USE INSTRUCTIONS

SETTING IRON TEMPERATURE

Turn the iron temperature control knob (14) in order to select to the indicator (13), a temperature suitable for the type of tissues to be ironed.

HOW TO FILL TANK (17) WITH WATER

  • Remove water tank (17) from base (1) by gripping its slot at the bottom and pulling outward.
  • Fill water tank (17) through the hole with tap wat (a). At first use, rinse the tank in order to remove any manufactory dirt or residual.
  • Fill the tank (17) exclusively with tap water, without exceeding the maximum level indicated by MAX.
  • Never add perfumes, chemical additives or descalers!
  • Re-insert water tank (17) in its place making sure that it is fully inserted into the base (1)
  • During use, the empty water tank is indicated by the green indicator light (7) that light on.

STARTING UP

FOR STEAM IRONING

  • Rest the appliance on a firm flat surface.
  • Place the iron on base (2) of boiler shell (1).
  • Fill up the water tank (17) as described in the previous paragraph.
  • Completely unwind the power cord (9) and monotube (8) and plug into the outlet.
  • To switch on the appliance, press pushbutton (4), bringing it to the ON (I) position.
  • The green pilot light (5) will light on to show that the boiler is heating: ONLY WHEN THE GREEN LAMP (6) LIGHTS ON, THE APPLIANCE IS READY FOR STEAM IRONING.
  • Turn the iron temperature control knob (14) to the steam ironing position.
  • The pilot light (11) on the iron will go on immediately and will go out a few minutes later, when the required temperature is reached.
  • During operation, the iron light (11) goes on and then automatically goes out

indicating that the iron temperature is constantly under control.

WARNING!

  • During use, the iron-boiler tube (8), the iron soleplate (16) and the boiler base (2) become very hot. Do not touch them in order to avoid burns.
  • At first use and whenever boiler require, a light vibration noise will be heard when depress steam pushbutton (15): it is very normal and is due to the internal pump that give water to the boiler in order to generate steam

IRONING

  • Before ironing delicate fabrics it is best to make trial run on a hidden piece e.g. the hem.
  • Iron's soleplate heat-up much quickly than it cool down, so it is advisable to iron first the more delicate fabrics needing low temperatures, then go on ironing more resistant fabrics needing higher temperatures.
  • To get steam from soleplate, depress the steam button (15), in a few seconds the steam begins to come out from iron soleplate. Releasing the steam button (15), the steam gradually stops.
  • By pressing the button (18), a continuous steam flow is obtained.
  • During ironing pauses, put the iron on the iron rest (2).

WARNING!

Some drops of water may leak out of the iron soleplate (16) when the first jet of steam starts coming out; this is quite normal and is due to condensation forming inside the iron-boiler connecting tube (8).

This will disappear with the following jets of steam. It is therefore not recommended to point the first jet of steam directly on the item to be ironed. The iron must be used and left at rest on a firm surface.

WHEN YOU HAVE FINISHED IRONING

  • To switch off the appliance, turn the on/off switch knob (4) to OFF position
  • Unplug the appliance from the outlet.
  • Put the iron on iron rest (2) and wait for the appliance to completely cool down before storing it.
  • Empty the water tank (17) and store the appliance in a safe place, out of reach of children.
  • Never wrap the power cord (9) nor the monotube (8) around the iron, but place them beside. Make sure it does not hang from the resting place causing hazardous situations

DRY IRONING

  • Rest the appliance on a flat, stable surface.
  • Place the iron on the boiler iron rest (2).
  • Completely unwind the cord (9) and monotube (8) and cord plug into the outlet.
  • Turn the iron temperature control knob (14) to the desired temperature (SEE THE PARAGRAH “ADJUSTING TEMPERATURE OF THE IRON”) (figure 1).
  • The indicator lamp (11) on the iron will light up immediately and turn off after a few minutes, once the desired temperature has been reached.
  • When the indicator lamp (11) on the iron turns off, the appliance is ready for use.
  • The indicator light (11) on the iron will light up and go off automatically while ironing to show that the soleplate is being kept at a constant temperature.
  • To turn the appliance off, turn the temperature control knob to min.
  • Put the iron on the base iron rest (2) and wait for the appliance to completely cool down before putting it away.

VERTICAL IRONING

To “liven up” the clothes hung on cloth hangers, curtains, etc. you can use the iron vertically:

  • Set the temperature control knob (14) to the MAX position.
  • Use the push button (4) to set the steam quantity emitted by the iron during the ironing process to the maximum level.
  • Hold the iron in a vertical position at a distance of about 15-20 cm from the fabric.
  • Press the push button (15) to obtain steam.

IMPORTANT

  • Do not use this function on fabrics made up of synthetic fibres.
  • Keep an adequate distance between the fabric and the iron soleplate in order to avoid burns.
  • Use this function only on clothes hung on clothes hangers. Do not try to iron clothes if they are worn by a person: the steam is very hot, you could cause serious burn injuries.

CLEANING

WARNING!

Always unplug the iron from the outlet and wait for the appliance to completely cool down before starting any cleaning operations.

Use a normal damp sponge to clean the aluminium soleplate, or else a non-metallic kitchen scouring-pad for difficult stains.

Use a damp cloth to clean the rest of the iron and the boiler shell only.

Never immerse the appliance or parts of it into water or other liquid, do not use steam, chemical or abrasive substances.
