Frequently Asked Questions - Matica 1160 Ceramic TERMOZETA

How to use the steam function?
Fill the water tank with tap water. Select a temperature suitable for the fabric (wool, cotton, etc.). Press the steam button to get a steam burst. For continuous steam, adjust the steam flow slider.
What to do if the iron no longer heats up?
Check that the appliance is plugged in and the socket works. Ensure the heating indicator light is on. If the problem persists, the auto shut-off may have been activated: shake the iron to reactivate. Consult the manual if necessary.
How to clean the ceramic soleplate?
Allow the iron to cool. Use a soft damp cloth to wipe the soleplate. Do not use abrasive products. Avoid touching the hot soleplate.
What types of water can I use?
We recommend tap water. If your water is very hard, mix it with an equal amount of demineralised water. Do not use pure distilled or demineralised water alone, as it may cause leaks.
How to descale the iron?
Use the built-in anti-scale function (Calc'net). Fill the water tank, set the temperature to maximum, then press the self-cleaning button while holding the iron over the sink. Repeat if necessary.
Why does water leak from the soleplate?
This may be due to a temperature too low for steam (insufficient anti-drip function). Increase the temperature or wait until the iron is hot enough. Also check that the tank is not overfilled.
What temperature for ironing cotton?
Set the thermostat to the high position (usually 3 dots or max). For cotton, use steam.
The iron turns off by itself, is this normal?
Yes, this is the safety auto shut-off function. If the iron remains stationary for more than 8 minutes upright or 30 seconds horizontally, it turns off. Shake it to turn it back on.
Can I iron vertically?
Yes, the iron is suitable for vertical ironing. Use the steam function to de-wrinkle hanging garments, keeping a safe distance.
How to store the iron after use?
Empty the water tank. Allow to cool completely. Wrap the cord around the base and store it upright on a stable surface.
