BEFORE FIRST USE

• Water boiled for the first time should be discarded. - The filter has been installed on the kettle before shipping. If it has been removed, install the filter before using the kettle. Hold the filter securely and place it into the slot in the filter over the tab in the cover. Push gently and the filter will latch into its position.
- Do not use the kettle without placing the filter in its position as water may spill out when boiling.
- Do not remove the filter when the kettle is hot.
- Fill the kettle with the required amount of water without exceeding minimum and maximum levels indicated on the water level window.
Note: Do not attempt to fill the kettle while it stands on its power base.
Do not use it except for boiling water. Any other liquids will contaminate the interior of the kettle.
Do not fill past the MAX level indicated on the water level window. Overfilling may cause water to spill out when boiling..
- Place kettle on the base making sure it is correctly engaged on its base.
- Switch the On/Off button to ON. The indicator light will be on showing the kettle is in boiling process. When water boils power switch and the indicator light will automatically switch OFF.
-
If you want to use the kettle again, allow the thermal safety switch to cool down for 15-20 seconds then turn the power switch ON. If the power switch does not remain in the 'On' position, the water is hot enough to use without reheating.
-
Unplug the cord from wall outlet before lifting kettle from power base. Hold the kettle by its handle as lid and surface of the kettle will be hot.
• After using the kettle place it back to its power base or on to a heat resistant surface. - If the kettle is accidentally switched on when empty, the thermostat will automatically turn it off to prevent the kettle from overheating. If this situation occurs, unplug the power base and let the kettle cool before refilling it.
- When kettle is not in use its power cord is recommended to be unplugged. Do not attempt to connect any other appliances to the power base or tamper with the connector in anyway.
CARE AND CLEANING
- Unplug the power base. Empty out remaining water and allow kettle to cool down.
- If necessary, remove and clean the Aquascreen filter (R) by rinsing under running water. The filter can be removed by grasping firmly between your thumb and forefinger and gently pull off starting at either the right or left edge.
- Under regular usage, deposits of scale may form inside of the kettle causing discolorations. Scale, which has accumulated inside the kettle, can be removed by boiling equal parts of white vinegar and water (500 ml / 2 cups of each is recommended). Once the water has boiled, allow mixture to stand several hours or overnight. Empty out mixture and fill kettle to the MAX level with fresh water. Bring water to a boil and discard. For heavy scale build-ups, repeat this process.
NOTE: This build-up can be delayed by pouring out old water and refilling before each use.
- Do not use abrasive cleaners.
- Do not immerse kettle or power base in water or other liquid.
IMPORTANT!
A short supply cord is provided to reduce the hazards of becoming entangled in or tripping over a long cord. Extension cords may be used if care is exercised in their use. If the appliance is of the grounded type, the extension cord should be of a grounded 3-wire cord. The extension cord should be arranged so that it will not drape over the counter top or table top, where it can be pulled on by children or tripped over.
