Thank you for purchasing this Sandwich Maker. Before using this product, it is important to read this instruction manual carefully. Use the product only as described and for indicated purpose. Keep this manual in a safe place. If you hand this product onto anyone else, ensure to pass on along all the documentations relating to this product.

IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

• Make sure that the voltage indicated on the product corresponds with the mains voltage in your home. Our company shall not be held liable for any failures owing to any discrepancy and such failures shall not be covered by the guarantee.
• Your device is for household use only. It should not be used for commercial or industrial purposes. Otherwise, inconvenient uses shall not be covered by the guarantee. Never use the device in the open air.
• Children or other persons who do not have the knowledge or experience required to use electrical appliance, or who have limited physical, sensory or mental capabilities, must not use the product without supervision or instruction by a person who is responsible for their safety.
• Always plug your device to a grounded socket. To prevent harming your device, do not use ectension cords which supply insufficient current.
• Do not place your device over or very near to the heat sources such as oven, furnace.
• Avoid actions that may harm or damage the cord or plug of your device. Do not carry your device by holding from the cord. To unplug the heater, hold the plug and never pull by the cord.
• Never interfere with your device except for the purposes of cleaning and maintenance. OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS

NOTE: When using the Sandwich Maker for the first time, the unit will emit a fine smoke. This is caused by the heating of the elements and new components, and will stop after the first or second use.

- Remove the product from the box and remove all packaging surrounding the product

- Wipe the surface of the cooking plates with a damp cloth and then dry the plates with a soft dry cloth.

- Place the product on an even cooking surface, and unclip the lock on the side of the unit.

- Ensure the unit is closed, and then plug the power cord into the wall socket and switch on the power. The red light and green light will come on to indicate that the unit is on and heating.

- Wipe the cooking plates with cooking oil, butter or margarine. This will protect the non-stick surface of the plates during the pre-heating time. Once the unit reaches cooking temperature, the green light will turn off. Should you wish to do so, you can wipe off the excess oil, butter or margarine with a kitchen towel – please take care though, as the cooking plates will now be hot.

- Wait about five seconds, then lift the top cooking plate using the handle, and place the sandwich on the bottom cooking plate.

• Lower the top cooking plate slowly. The top cooking plate is on a floating hinge, and will automatically adjust to the thickness of the sandwich in the unit.

- Wait until the sandwich is toasted, usually about 6 to 8 minutes depending on how well browned you want your sandwich.

- When the sandwich is cooked as desired, lift the top cooking plate using the handle and remove the sandwich cooked. Always use wooden or plastic cooking utensils to remove the sandwich, as this will extend the life of the non-stick coating on the plates.

- Close the top cooking plate. Should you wish to make more sandwiches, allow the unit to re-heat to cooking temperature, and follow the same procedure to cook more sandwiches. Should you be finished with the unit, unplug it from the wall socket and remove the plug from the wall socket.

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

• After use, wait for the unit to cool properly before cleaning and storage.
- Wipe the inside and edges of the heating plate with absorbent paper towel or a soft cloth.
- Should any filling be difficult to remove, pour a little cooking oil onto the heating plate and re-heat the unit for two minutes. Wait for the unit to cool for five minutes then try to remove the filling again.
• This appliance is for household use only and is not user-serviceable.
- Do not open or change any parts by yourself. Please refer to a qualified electrical service department or return to the supplier if servicing is necessary.
• Always remember to unplug the unit from the electrical outlet when not in use and before cleaning.
- The body of the appliance should be cleaned with a damp cloth. Do not let water enter the appliance or the stand.
- Do not use bleach or other abrasive substance or solvents to clean your appliance as it can be damaging to the finish.
- To remove stubborn spots/marks, wipe the surfaces with a cloth slightly dampened in soapy water or mild non-abrasive cleaner. Rinse and dry a clean, dry, soft cloth.

TROUBLESHOOT

There are no user serviceable parts in this appliance. If the unit is not operating correctly, please check the following:

• You have followed the instructions correctly
• That the unit has been wired correctly and that the wall socket is switched on.
• That the mains power supply is ON.
• That the plug is firmly in the mains socket.
