FOR YOUR SAFETY
- Do not store or use gasoline, or other flammable liquids in the vicinity of this or any other appliance. Read product labels for warnings regarding flammability and other hazards.
- Do not operate the wine cooler in the presence of explosive fumes.
- Remove all staples from the carton. Staples can cause severe cuts, and also destroy finishes if they come in contact with other appliances or furniture.
Child Safety
Destroy or recycle the carton, plastic bags, and any exterior wrapping material immediately after the wine cooler is unpacked. Children should never use these items to play. Cartons covered with rugs, bedspreads, plastic sheets or stretch wrap may become airtight chambers, and can quickly cause suffocation.
Proper Disposal of Your Wine Cooler
Risk of child entrapment
Child entrapment and suffocation are not problems of the past. Junked or abandoned wine coolers are still dangerous – even if they will sit for "just a few days." If you are getting rid of your old wine cooler, please follow the instructions below to help prevent accidents.
Before you throw away your old wine cooler:
- Remove door.
- Leave shelves in place so children may not easily climb inside.

WARNING
These guidelines must be followed to ensure that safety mechanisms in this wine cooler will operate properly.
- Do not use if supply cord is damaged. If damaged, It must be replaced by the manufacturer or a similarly qualified person in order to avoid hazard.
- Ensure the cooler is unplugged before cleaning or if the cooler is not in use.
- To clean the cooler use only mild detergents or glass cleaning products. Never use harsh detergents or solvents.

It is not recommended to use this wine cooler with an extension cord or power board. Please ensure that the appliance is plugged directly into the electrical outlet.

When positioning the wine cooler, ensure that there is at least a 15cm clearance at the sides and a 15cm clearance at the back of the cooler as this is the main outlet for heat. This will allow for adequate ventilation.
● This cooler is designed to store wine bottles, do not store food in the wine cooler. - Close the cooler door immediately after putting in wine bottles so the inside temperature will not rise dramatically.
- Keep appliance away from any heat source or direct sunlight.
- To fix stably, the appliance must be placed on a flat and solid surface. It must not be laid on any soft material.
- Do not place any other appliance on top of the wine cooler.
- The wine cooler is an electrical appliance. To avoid injury or death from electrical shock do not operate the wine cooler with wet hands, while standing on a wet surface or while standing in water.
- Do not use outdoors or in wet conditions.
- When positioned or if moving the appliance ensure that it is not set horizontally or declined less than 45° or turned upside down.
● Never pull the cord to disconnect it from the outlet. Grasp the plug and pull it from the outlet.
● Never lift or carry the wine cooler by the cord. - Keep the cord away from heated surfaces and sharp edges.
● This wine cooler is for household use only. Any other use will void the warranty. - Do not plug into the power socket before set up is completed.
- An empty cooler can be a dangerous attraction to children. If disposing of the cooler remove gaskets, latches, lids or the entire door from your unused appliance, or take other action to ensure the cooler is harmless.

WARNING
This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety.
Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.
Keep ventilation openings, in the appliance enclosure or in the built-in structure, clear of obstruction.
INSTALLATION
This Use & Care Guide provides general operating instructions for your model. Use the wine cooler only as instructed in this Use & Care Guide. Before starting the wine cooler, follow these important first steps.
Installation
Installation Clearances
- Choose a place that is near an earthed electrical outlet. Do Not use an extension cord or an adapter plug.
- For optimal performance, it is recommended that you install the wine cooler where the ambient temperature is between 20 and 25 degrees Celsius.
- Allow the following clearances for ease of installation, proper air circulation, and electrical connections:
Sides & Top 5cm
Back 10cm
- Be sure the wine cooler stays in the upright position during transport.
- Keep the wine cooler from any hazardous or combustible agents.
Leveling
The wine cooler must have all bottom corners resting firmly on solid floor or counter top. The floor or counter top must be strong enough to support a fully loaded wine cooler.
To Level Your Wine Cooler:
After removing all interior and exterior packaging materials, adjust the 3 leveling legs (1 front, 2 back), so the wine cooler is stable on the surface (does not rock from side to side).
Cleaning
- Wash any removable parts of the wine cooler interior, and exterior with mild detergent and warm water. Wipe dry. Do not use harsh cleaners on these surfaces.
- Do not use razor blades or other sharp instruments, which can scratch the appliance surface when removing adhesive labels. Any glue left from the tape can be removed with a mixture of warm water and mild detergent, or touch the residue with the sticky side of tape already removed. Do not remove the serial plate.
Important Safeguards: Do not store food in your wine cooler as interior temperature may not get cool enough to prevent spoilage. In summer months or areas of high humidity, the glass door may build up moisture. To remove the moisture, wipe it away.

Ideas for Saving Energy
Installation
- Locate the wine cooler in the coolest part of the room, out of direct sunlight, and away from heating ducts or registers. Do not place the wine cooler next to heat-prone range, oven, or dishwa
- Level the wine cooler so that the door closes tightly.

SAVE MONEY SAVE ENERGY- Do not overcrowd the wine cooler or block cold air vents. Doing so causes the wine cooler to run longer and use more energy. Shelves should not be lined with aluminum foil, wax paper or paper toweling. Liners interfere with cold air circulation, making the wine cooler less efficient, which could cause spoilage.
- Wipe containers dry before placing them in the wine cooler. This cuts down on moisture build-up inside the unit.
- Organize the wine cooler to reduce door openings. Remove as many items as needed at one time and close the door as soon as possible.
SETTING TEMPERATURE CONTROLS
Cool Down Period
Allow 2 hours for the wine cooler to cool down completely. The wine cooler will run continuously for the first several hours.
Temperature Control

12 ∧ V light- Once plugged in, the display will show the actual unit temperature.
- The display will switch to the factory preset desired temperature (12°C).
- The wine cooler can be operated by adjusting the temperature control buttons (up arrow and down arrow) to the various settings.
- The new desired temperature will flash on the display for a few seconds and then switch back to the actual temperature which will gradually change until setpoint is reached.
The temperature range MIN and MAX is 8° - 18°C.
Press "light" button to turn light OFF and ON.

Interior light only comes on when the light button is pressed. The light does not come on when the door is opened. Bulb CANNOT be replaced.
Air filter
If your model is equipped with a filter screen(s) on the back of the unit, it should be removed and cleaned every 6 months or so. To remove, press down on the two tabs at top and lift screen from back panel. After cleaning, place tabs in slots at bottom, then snap top tabs back into place.
CARE AND CLEANING
Cleaning the wine cooler
- Before cleaning, unplug the wine cooler and remove the bottles.
- Clean your wine cooler once every two months.
Inside: Wash inside surfaces of the wine cooler with a solution of two tablespoons of baking soda in one liter warm water. Rinse and dry. Wring excess water out of the sponge or cloth when cleaning in the area of the controls, or any electrical parts.
Wash the removable parts with the baking soda solution mentioned above, or mild detergent and warm water. Rinse and dry. Never use metallic scouring pads, brushes, abrasive cleaners, or alkaline solutions on any surface. Do not wash removable parts in a dishwasher.
Outside: Wash the cabinet with warm water and mild liquid detergent. Rinse well and wipe dry with a clean soft cloth.
Care of plastic parts
- Be sure and protect the door gasket. It should be kept clean at all times.
- If the plastic parts in the wine cooler remain contaminated by oil (animal or vegetable) for a long period of time, they will age and crack easily. Please clean them on a regular basis.

Vacations:
If the wine cooler will not be used for several months:
- Remove all wine bottles and unplug the power cord.
• Clean and dry the interior thoroughly. - Leave the wine cooler door open slightly, blocking it open if necessary, to prevent odour and mould growth.
Moving: When moving the wine cooler, follow these guidelines to prevent damage:
- Disconnect the power cord plug from the wall outlet.
- Remove wine bottles and clean the wine cooler.
- Secure all loose items by taping them securely in place to prevent damage.
- In a moving vehicle, secure the wine cooler in an upright position to prevent movement. Also, protect the outside of the wine cooler with a blanket or similar item.

WARNING
If leaving the wine cooler door open while on vacation, make certain that children cannot get into the wine cooler and become entrapped.

FAILURE TO USE A CERTIFIED ELECTRICIAN OR KELVINATOR AUTHORISED SERVICE AGENT OR GENUINE PARTS FOR INSTALLATION OR SERVICE VOIDS THE WARRANTY
- Electrolux / Kelvinator warrants the equipment against defective material or faulty manufacture, provided it is used for domestic purposes only, for a period of 24 (twenty four) months, from the date of purchase by the original retail purchaser.
- No service / repair calls are to be placed for the following Kelvinator appliances: Freestanding Microwaves Bar fridges Cooker hoods: flat canopy type Thermo-electric wine coolers, bar fridges (excludes bar fridges with glass doors)
- (a) In the first 6 (six) months from date of purchase, for valid warranty claims, collection, return and installation (Built-in and gas appliances) of the appliance will be free of charge within South Africa if installed by an authorized Electrolux service agent. (b) For the remainder of the warranty period where the repaired appliance is used or installed more than 50 kilometres from the nearest Electrolux service agent or elsewhere in South Africa, travel costs to the place of use or installation shall be for the account of the purchaser.
- This warranty is given on condition that only labour, parts and accessories supplied by authorised agents are at all times used in connection with the appliance, including the installation thereof, and that an authorised Electrolux service agent installs and/or services the appliance.
- Electrolux shall not be responsible for damage of any kind resulting from electricity fluctuations, faults in the building wiring, faulty installations, and improper use of controls or failure to use the appliance in accordance with the operating instructions and/or general misuse and/or abuse, or if not used for domestic purposes only, or for damage caused by a superior force (vis maior). Any repair or tampering by an unauthorised person or attempt to repair or tamper with the equipment, or use of parts not supplied by authorised agents, or alterations or modification to the equipment, shall render the warranty null and void.
- After the first 6 (six) months from the date of purchase, this warranty does not apply to light bulbs, loose glass, glass oven doors and enamelled surfaces, filters and other parts subject to wear and tear or discolouring. Damage caused by abrasive and highly concentrated cleaners and/or cleaning materials or cleaners prohibited by the user manual, will void the warranty.
- Electrolux / Kelvinator shall not be responsible in terms of this warranty for the replacement or repair of any part of the equipment which may have been damaged in transit if delivery is undertaken by any party other than Electrolux / Kelvinator or an authorised agent.
- Repairs carried out under warranty have a warranty period of 3 (three) months on the parts and labour supplied to repair the unit and does not extend the warranty nor does it start a new warranty. Parts removed during warranty repairs become the property of Electrolux / Kelvinator.
- After expiry of 6 (six) months from the date of purchase the warranty shall be available only to the original retail purchaser of Kelvinator domestic appliances from an authorised Kelvinator Dealer or Distributor and only where the appliance has been retained for use in the Republic of South Africa.
- Failure to produce documentary proof of the date of original acquisition by the original purchaser to Electrolux / Kelvinator or an authorised service agent, will result in normal charges being levied for travel costs, the work carried out and the parts supplied, unless a production date can be proved to be within the 6 (six) months preceding the warranty claim.
- After 6 (six) months from the date of purchase of the appliance the liability of Electrolux / Kelvinator under this warranty is limited to the replacement and/or repair of the defective parts within the guarantee period and does not extend to the installation or removal of the appliance.
