What is the maximum oil capacity of the Vivax FF-1802?

The maximum oil capacity is 2.5 liters, as indicated by the MAX mark on the inner pot. Always keep oil level between MIN and MAX marks.

How do I safely open the lid during or after frying?

Press the specially designed lid-open button to release the lid automatically. This allows steam to escape safely and prevents scalding.

How often should I replace the filter?

The permanent filter should be replaced after approximately 60 frying sessions. Refer to figure 7 in the manual for replacement instructions.

What temperature settings are available?

The thermostat offers three preset temperatures: 150°C, 170°C, and 190°C. Choose based on the food you are frying (see reference menu).

Can I use the fryer without oil?

No. Using the fryer without oil or fat will severely damage the appliance. Always fill with oil to the proper level.

How do I prevent condensation on the viewing window?

Smear the inner face of the viewing window with a little oil before use. This prevents condensation and allows you to monitor the cooking process.

What should I do if the power cord is damaged?

The supply cord must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent, or a similarly qualified person to avoid hazard. Do not use the fryer until repaired.

How do I store the power cord?

Wrap the cord around the rear cable holder located on the back of the fryer. This keeps it tidy and out of reach of children.

Is the deep fryer safe to use around children?

NOTE

Plug cord into a 220 Volt AC outlet.

Before using fryer for the first time, wash the pot and basket thoroughly with warm, soapy water, carefully dry aluminum pot to maintain the good aesthetic appearance.

Do not use fryer without oil or fat. Fryer will be severely damaged if heated dry.

This fryer has a thermal safety device. In case of thermostat failure, the electrical circuit has an automatic cutout, thus preventing overheating.

Should the fryer leak, please contact the company from which you purchased the fryer.

To ensure safe operation, excessive food or utensils must not be inserted into the fryer.

BASKET HANDLE

The BASKET HANDLE allows you to raise/lower the basket when the fryer lid is closed (FIG.4) Move handle up: basket up.

Push handle knob down: basket down.

LID-OPEN BUTTON

The special designed LID-OPEN BUTTON helps you open the lid much more easily and safely. Push the button, and fry lid will release automatically. Thus steam will escape from the deep fryer when fried to avoid scalding the fingers (FIG.5)

TO REMOVE THE LID

To remove the lid, lift the lid to a vertical position and pull it upwards. (FIG.6)

FILTER SYSTEM

The lid is fitted with a permanent filter system, which collects drops of oil from the steam as it passes through the filter. The filter should be replaced (FIG.7) after being used for 60 times(around 60 times).

CORD STORAGE

There is a cord storage compartment in the base. When not in use, the cable can be easily put around the holder. (FIG.8).

VIEWING WINDOW

Smear the inner face of the viewing window with the oil to prevent condensation forming and to enable cooking process to be checked.

THERMOSTAT AND PILOT LIGHT

The thermostat is calibrated in steps marked, 150^ , 170^ , and 190^ , which offers you the best temperature to suit the food to be fried.

TEMPERATURE LIGHT will light automatically while the temperature keeps rising and go out when the set temperature is reached.

POWER LIGHT it will light automatically when the appliance is plugged.

DEEP FRYER USAGE

1. Remove the basket with the handle from the bracket.
2. Pour between 2-2.5 litres of oil into the fryer. The level of oil must be between the MAX and MIN level marked on the surface of the pot. (FIG.9)
   . Use only good quality vegetable oil or all purpose shortening for deep frying. Butter, margarine, olive oil or animal fat is not recommended due to its lower smoking temperatures.

1. Smear the viewing window with a little oil.

2. Plug in the mains and set thermostat to the required temperature (see the reference menu) The temperature light will go out when the set temperature is reached.

3. Add food (as dry as possible) into the basket first.

. Do not overload basket.

. Place food of uniform size into the basket so that cook evenly.

. Be sure to dry all food before frying.

1. Place the basket back into the fryer. Remove the handle and close the lid. Turn the BASKET knob down to have basket and food immersed in the oil.

. Do not add water or wet stuff to the cooking oil, even small amounts of water will cause oil to spatter.

1. After cooking, lift the basket out of the oil to drain. Push the LID-RELEASE BUTTON to open the lid.

HINTS

1. Use only metal kitchen utensils with insulated handles in hot oil.
2. As is carefulness should be taken when frying, especially when children are near by.
3. Taking into account the food type select the temperature for frying. As a general guide, food that has been pre-cooked in some way need a higher temperature and less cooking time than those raw food.

MAINTENANCE AND CLEANING

1. The power supply must be cut before cleaning.
2. Empty the condensation tray.
3. Cool the oil completely. Oil or fat retains its temperature for a long time after use. Do not attempt to move or carry the fryer while it is still hot.
4. Oil can be reused several times. Get the maximum use from your fryer by always having it ready for use. One way of doing this is to keep the cooled and strained oils inside ready for the next frying session with the lid acting as a dust cover.
5. Oil should be filtered after use each. time.
6. After draining the oil, the fryer should be wiped out with absorbent paper then with damp cloth and a little detergent and finally cleaned with a dry cloth.
   . The interior of the fryer has a plain aluminum surface. To avoid damage, no abrasives or sharp instruments should be used.
7. The exterior can be cleaned with damp, not to use abrasives or scouring pads.
8. The basket can be washed in warm soapy water.
9. Remove the used filter and replace with a new one after approximately 60 frying sessions.

1. This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety.

2. Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.

3. If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent or a similarly qualified person in order to avoid a hazard.

4. The appliance is not intended to be operated by means of an external timer or a separate remote-control system.
