Frequently Asked Questions - USP-1200S Unit

How do I use the pressure cooking function?
Fill the inner pot with food and water (max 4/5 full, 3/5 for expanding foods). Clean the heating plate and inner coating. Close the lid by turning clockwise until it clicks. Set the pressure relief valve to the ‘герметично’ (sealed) position. Select the desired cooking program (e.g., Rice, Meat). You can adjust cooking time if needed. The appliance will start automatically. After cooking, release pressure by turning the valve to ‘выпуск пара’ (steam release) before opening.
How do I use the smoking function?
Place wood chips in the charring cup (about 1 tablespoon) and attach it to the heating element. Add water (200-300 ml) for hot smoking or no water for cold smoking. Place food on the food basket rack or in the inner pot. Close the lid and set the pressure regulator to sealed. Select ‘Cold Smoker’ or ‘Hot Smoker’ program, then set desired time (1-120 minutes). For combination, run cold smoked first, then hot smoked. After cooking, release pressure and remove food.
What does error code E1 mean?
Error code E1 indicates an open circuit of the sensor. Stop using the appliance immediately and send it to an authorized UNIT service center for maintenance.
Can I open the lid during cooking?
No, do not attempt to open the lid while there is pressure inside. The safety lock prevents opening. After cooking, first release pressure by turning the relief valve to steam release, then wait until the internal pressure drops. The lid will unlock automatically when it is safe.
How should I clean the unit?
Unplug and let the appliance cool. Remove the inner pot or smoking bowl and wash with a sponge or non-metal soft brush in warm soapy water, then dry. Wipe the inner surface of the appliance with a soft cloth. Clean the sealing gasket, relief valve, and floating valve with soapy water and dry. Never immerse the base or cord in water, and do not use a dishwasher.
What is the maximum capacity for cooking?
Do not fill the inner pot more than 4/5 full (or 3/5 for foods that expand). Ensure there is at least 1/5 empty space. Overfilling may cause safety issues or poor cooking results.
How does the delayed start work?
Press the ‘Timer’ button before selecting any cooking program. Use the + or - buttons to set the delay time (up to 24 hours). Then select your cooking program and adjust time if needed. The appliance will start cooking automatically after the delay. Note: delayed start cannot be used in Browning or Multi-Mode.
Why is steam leaking from the lid?
Common causes: the sealing gasket is not properly installed, dirty, damaged, or deformed. Check that the gasket sits securely on the inner steel ring. Clean the gasket or replace it with a new one from a UNIT service center. Also ensure the lid is properly closed and locked.
Can I use metal utensils?
It is recommended to use wooden or plastic ladles to avoid scratching the ceramic anti-stick coating of the inner pot. Metal utensils may damage the coating.
What is the warranty period?
The manual states a lifetime of 20,000 cycles but not more than 5 years from the date of purchase. For warranty service, contact an authorized UNIT service center. The exact warranty terms may vary by region; refer to your purchase documentation.
