Frequently Asked Questions - IES-1000S Imarflex

How do I descale the Imarflex IES-1000S coffee maker?
Mix a solution of equal parts water and white vinegar and fill the reservoir. Run a brew cycle without coffee, then let it sit for 30 minutes. Run two more cycles with fresh water to rinse.
Why is my coffee maker not brewing?
Check that the water reservoir is filled and the carafe is properly placed. Ensure the filter is not clogged and the machine is plugged in. If still not working, try descaling.
Can I use ground coffee other than medium grind?
It's recommended to use medium grind coffee for optimal extraction. Fine grind may clog the filter, while coarse grind may result in weak coffee.
How many cups does the IES-1000S make?
The carafe has a capacity of 1.2 liters, which yields about 12 cups of coffee (standard 100ml cup size).
Can I brew tea in this coffee maker?
Yes, you can use the coffee maker to brew tea by placing tea leaves or bags in the filter. However, be aware that residual coffee flavors may affect the taste.
How do I clean the permanent filter?
Rinse the permanent mesh filter under running water after each use. For deeper cleaning, soak it in hot soapy water and scrub gently with a soft brush.
What does the anti-drip mechanism do?
The anti-drip function stops the flow of coffee when you remove the carafe mid-brew, preventing spills. Always replace the carafe quickly to continue brewing.
Why is my coffee weak?
Weak coffee can result from using too little coffee grounds or a too coarse grind. Use the recommended 1-2 tablespoons per cup and ensure a medium grind.
How do I replace the carafe?
If the glass carafe breaks, you can purchase a replacement carafe from Imarflex or authorized dealers. Use only compatible carafes designed for this model.
Is the coffee maker safe to leave unattended?
The coffee maker has an automatic shut-off after 2 hours, making it safe for short periods. However, it's always recommended to turn off and unplug when not in use.
