DESCRIPTION OF PARTS

HOW TO USE
- For initial use, wash filter basket and the carafé thoroughly.
- Plug the unit into a convenience outlet, always make it sure that the unit is in OFF position.
- Swing out the Funnel; place the Filter Basket Holder with the Filter Basket and make it sure that is properly assembled.
- Put ground coffee into the filter basket using a measuring spoon, standard measurement is one scoop of ground coffee (7 to 8 grams) for a cup of water (8oz.), but you may adjust according to personal taste, and then close the funnel.
- Fill carafe with the desired amount of water. Open the lid of the water tank, pour water from the carafé and close then.
Note: Do not fill water tank above its maximum level as indicated on water gauge.
- Wipe and place the carafe into the keep warm plate.
- Switch the unit ON.
- During the brew cycle, the water will automatically drip into the carafé.
NOTE: The appliance is designed with a pause-and-serve feature, if you wish, at any time during brewing cycle, you can temporarily remove carafe to pour and serve a cup of hot coffee. The brewing cycle will not be interrupted and no coffee will drip from the unit, simply return the glass carafe onto the warming plate to restart the brewing cycle, but do not remove the glass carafe longer than 30 seconds.
- Remove carafe to serve after the brewing cycle, (about one minute later after the coffee stops dripping out).
NOTE: The coffee you get will be less than the water you have poured, as some water is absorbed by coffee ground.
CAUTION: When pouring coffee, make sure that the angle of the carafe does not exceed 45 degrees in reference to the vertical position, you can pour the coffee slowly until the carafe is empty, be careful not to over tilt and spill the hot contents of the carafe. The hot contents of the carafe burn the skin on contact.
- After brewing, the appliance will automatically switch to the warming mode, which will continue to keep your coffee warm until you press the button to the "O" position. It is suggested that warming time shall be not more than 1 hour; aroma and coffee taste will decrease as long as it is exposed. For the best coffee taste, serve it just after brewing.
- After use, switch OFF and unplug the unit from the convenience outlet
NOTE: Always turn off the unit if the carafé is empty.
HINTS FOR GREAT-TASTING COFFEE
- A clean coffee maker is essential for making great-tasting coffee. Regularly clean the coffee maker as specified in the "CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE" section.
- Always use fresh tap water in brewing coffee.
- Store unused ground coffee in a cool, dry place. After opening a package of ground coffee, store it in an airtight container to maintain its freshness.
- For the best coffee taste, buy whole coffee beans and finely grind them just before brewing.
- Do not reuse ground coffee since this will greatly reduce the coffee flavor.
- Reheating coffee is not recommended as coffee is at its peak flavor after brewing.
- Clean the coffee maker when over-extraction caused oiliness. Small oil droplets on the surface of brewed, black coffee are due to the extraction of oil from the ground coffee.
- Oiliness may occur more frequently if heavily roasted coffees are used.

How to clean the Water Tank:
- Pour water on the water tank with one pint vinegar.

Removing Mineral Deposits on the Water Tank
To keep your coffee maker operating efficiently, periodically clean mineral deposits left by the water according to the water quality in your area and the frequency of use, we recommend removing mineral deposits as follows:
- Fill the tank with water and de-scaling solution to the max level as indicated on water gauge (the scale of water and solution is 4:1; the detail refers to the instruction of the solution. Please use "household solution"; you may also use the citric acid instead of the solution (the one hundred parts of water and three parts of citric acid).
- Insert glass carafe onto the warming plate.
- Make sure that the filter (without ground coffee) and funnel are assembled properly.
- Switch the unit on and allow it to process the de-scaling solution.
- After processing one-cup solution, switch off the appliance.
- Leave the solution for 15 minutes and repeat steps 3-5.
- Switch ON the appliance and run off the solution until the water tank is completely empty.
- Rinse the unit by processing with fresh water at least 3 times.
