SAFETY RECOMMENDATIONS

• Read the instructions carefully before using your device for the first time. • Do not leave the device within the reach of children (whether switched on or off). Please ensure that children do not play with the device. • This device is not designed for use by people (including children) with limited physical, sensorial or mental capacities, or by people without experience or knowledge of the device, unless they are supervised or have received instructions about how to use the device from the person responsible for their safety. • Your device is designed for domestic use only. • Always use the device on a flat surface. • Never place the device on an electric hotplate. • Always connect the device to a 230 Volt earthed socked. • Never operate the device without water in the tank. • For safety reasons, the device stops automatically after a few minutes if not in use. • For safety reasons, if the power cable is damaged, it should be replaced by BEABA after-sales service or by its legal representative in order to avoid any risks. • When in use, the device contains hot water. • Never fill the heating unit above the upper limit. If the unit is too full, boiling water may spill out. WARNING ! Do not lift the lid when a cleaning or heating cycle is in process. • It is recommended not to heat food for too long a period. • The temperatures given are examples. Before feeding your baby, check the food’s temperature by pouring a few drops on the back of your hand or by tasting the food. • After the powder has been added, the temperature of the milk is generally that of the human body, namely 37°C. • Never submerge the device in water. • In general, the device is hot so take great care to avoid any risk of burns. • Before using for the first time: for hygiene reasons, complete two selfcleaning cycles following the instructions below. 11

INSTANT PREPARATION MODE

• The instant preparation mode is the fastest mode for preparing bottles. Only a few seconds are needed for the bottle to reach the right temperature (about 37°C). • Fill the bottle with the required amount of room temperature or cold water. • Open the lid and pour the water into the empty heating unit. • Close the lid. • Press the button . The button flashes during the heating process. Heating time may vary depending on the amount of water and the initial temperature. • As soon as the water has reached the correct temperature (about 37°C), the button remains alight and the device beeps three times. • Then, fill the bottle with the required amount of powdered milk and place it on the receptacle grid. • Press down on the water distribution button until the bottle has been filled. • Check that all the water has been emptied from the heating unit. • A small amount of water may be left at the bottom of the heating unit. Dry it with a clean cloth or tip the device forwards and press down on the water distribution button until no water is left inside. • To switch off the device, press the button again . •F or hygiene reasons, and in order to avoid any microbiological risks, the bottle should be consumed quickly after preparation (within 2 hours). Before preparing any food, please consult a health professional or your paediatrician for further information about food safety and preparation (water to use, storage, preparation methods, etc.). Please also refer to the instructions provided with your milk or baby food jars for any specific recommendations. ATTENTION! For hygiene reasons, the water distribution mode may be used with water only.

• Always ensure that the device is unplugged and that the heating unit is empty before removing the heating unit from its base.

• Open the lid of the heating unit. • Fill the heating unit with water up to the “Max” line. • Place the bottle or the jar to be heated in the heating unit. • Press the button or the button depending on the quantity to be reheated and the food’s initial temperature: Button 1: room temperature – small amount – about 7 minutes Button 2: fridge temperature – large amount – about 13 minutes • At the end of the heating cycle, the control button selected switches off and the device beeps three times. • Remove the bottle or the food jar with a cloth in order to avoid burns. • After mixing the content of the food jar or shaking the bottle, always check that the food is not too hot and that there is no risk of burning your child. • In Bain-Marie mode, the product may be used with or without the base. • To remove the heating unit from the base, remove the steriliser/bottle compartment. • Remove the power cable from the cable storage compartment and turn the heating unit’s unlocking button clockwise. • Press down on the unlocking button and lift the heating unit from front to back. • For hygiene reasons, and in order to avoid any microbiological risks, the bottle should be consumed quickly after preparation (within 2 hours). Before preparing any food, please consult a health professional or your paediatrician for further information about food safety and preparation (water to use, storage, preparation methods, etc.). Please also refer to the instructions provided with your milk or baby food jars for any specific recommendations. Never use water which has been used for a bain marie to prepare feeding bottles.

• Bain-Marie mode is for heating bottles and food jars. •T he bain-marie mode does not enable the temperature to be controlled with precision. Heating time should be adapted according to the quantity and the initial temperature of the food and the type of container used. Always check the temperature of food before feeding your child.

• For hygiene reasons, the device is fitted with a self-cleaning function which sterilises the device automatically. • Pour about 100 ml of water into the heating unit. • Close the lid and press the button .

• At the end of the self-cleaning cycle, the button switches off and the device beeps three times.

•W ait a few minutes for the device to cool in order to avoid the risk of burns. •E mpty the contents of the heating unit into a suitable receptacle using the water distribution button. •O pen the lid and clean the interior of the heating unit with a clean and dry cloth. •N ever touch the recipient directly after the water for a cleaning cycle has been distributed. It may be very hot because the water for the clean mode may reach 100°C. Always use an adapted cloth. Never use water which has been used for the clean mode to prepare feeding bottles. ATTENTION ! Never open the heating lid unit during a self-cleaning cycle. Always wait 5 minutes after a self-cleaning cycle before starting a new cycle. STERILISER/BOTTLE COMPARTMENT • Clean the bottles with hot soapy water and rinse well before sterilising. •T o sterilise your bottles in the microwave, place the bottles and the accessories in the steriliser/bottle compartment. It is able to hold up to 3 bottles depending on model and size. •F ill the steriliser/bottle compartment with water up to the central mark (about 200 ml of water). • Place the steriliser in the middle of the microwave oven. •S elect the heating time (4 mins for a 900 W oven and 6 mins for a 750 W to 800 W oven). Never exceed the recommended time. •O nce the sterilising cycle has ended, leave the steriliser to cool for 2 minutes in the microwave oven in order to avoid the risk of burns. •A s soon as the device has cooled enough, open the lid to let the steam out. •E mpty the steriliser/bottle compartment completely before repositioning it. •T o empty it, tilt it forwards gradually so that the water flows out of the two holes designed for this purpose. • Leave to dry or wipe with a clean cloth. •W ash hands carefully with soapy water before removing the bottles and accessories. 14

• Always unplug the device before cleaning. • Clean the tank and surfaces with a damp cloth or sponge. • Dry carefully. • Descale the heating tank periodically with (white) distilled vinegar: Pour 50 ml of water and 50 ml of (white) distilled vinegar into the device which is cold and not plugged into the mains. Leave overnight and empty the contents of the tank. • Repeat if necessary until all the limescale has been removed. Plug the device into the mains and operate two heating cycles with water only in the tank (about 100 ml) in order to rinse well. Then, clean the inside of the tank with a damp cloth. • Never use a chemical descaler or a coffee machine descaler in the tank. • Never soak the device in water. • Check regularly that the heating unit is clean. • After several cycles, a non-toxic white deposit (lime) may appear. If so, complete a descaling cycle as above. • Regular descaling is ESSENTIAL for the lifespan of your device. The logo on this product featuring a crossed out wheelie bin indicates that the product must not be disposed of with your other household waste. In order to prevent damage to the environment or human health, please separate the product from other waste in order to ensure that it is recycled in a manner that is safe for the environment.
