Notes on Installation

  1. Install the camcorder near the rear-view mirror to obtain the best open-field view. Do NOT install the camcorder in a location that will obstruct your required driving view.
  2. Make sure that the lens is within the wiping range of the windscreen wiper to ensure a clear view even when it rains.
  3. Do not touch the lens with your fingers. Finger grease may be left on the lens and will result in unclear videos or snapshots. Clean the lens on a regular basis.
  4. Do not install the camcorder on a tinted window. Doing so may damage the tint film.
  5. Make sure that the installation position is not hindered by the tinted window.

1 Introduction

Thank you for purchasing this advanced camcorder. This camcorder is specifically designed for real time video and audio recording when driving.

2 Getting Started

2.1 Inserting the Memory Card

Insert the memory card with the gold contacts facing the back of the camcorder. Push the memory card until it clicks into place. (Use class 6 or above the micro SD cards for this camcorder; It is recommended to format the micro SD cards before the initial use.)

To remove the memory card

Push the edge of the memory card inward until you hear/feel it click, then allow it to push out until you can remove it from the slot.

Note:

  1. Do not remove or insert the memory card when the camcorder is powered on. This may damage the memory card.
  2. It is recommended to use a 32 GB, Class 6 speed or above micro SD card.
  3. It is recommended to format the micro SD cards before the initial use.

2.2 Installing in Vehicles

2.2.1 Mount to Windshield

  1. Attach the bracket to the camcorder. Slide it into the bracket holder until you hear a click.

  1. With the suction-cup laying flat, position the suction-cup on the windshield.

  2. Hold the base firmly on the windshield and press down the clamp to mount the car holder to the windshield. Make sure the base is securely locked in place.

Warning: Do not install the camcorder on a tinted window. Doing so may damage the tint film.

2.2.2 Adjust the camcorder position

  1. Loosen the knob to swivel the camcorder vertically.

  1. Loosen the knob to swivel the camcorder horizontally up to 360°.

  2. Then tighten the knob to make sure the camcorder is securely locked in place.

2.3 Connecting to Power

Use only the supplied car adapter to power up the camcorder and charge the built-in battery.

  1. Connect one end of the car adapter to the USB connector of the camcorder.

  2. Plug the other end of the car charger to the cigarette lighter socket of your vehicle. Once the vehicle engine is started, the camcorder automatically powers on.

Note:

  1. The orange LED lights up while the battery is charging.
  2. Please take note if the environment temperature reaches 45^ C or above, the car adapter still can supply power to camcorder, but it may not charge the battery. This is characteristic of Lithium polymer battery and is not a malfunction.

2.4 Powering the Camcorder On / Off

2.4.1 Auto Power On/Off

Once the vehicle engine is started, the camcorder automatically powers on. If the Automatic Record function is enabled, the recording will automatically start right after the camcorder powers on.

See Set Automatic Recording (2.5.1).

Once the vehicle engine shuts down, the camcorder automatically saves the recording and turns off the power within 10 seconds.

See Delay Shutdown (4.2).

Note:

Automatic power up and shut down assumes the power socket is linked to the car ignition.

2.4.2 Manual Power On/Off

To manually turn on the power, press the POWER button.

To turn off, press and hold the POWER button for at least 2 seconds.

To reset, press and hold the POWER button for at least 5 seconds.

2.5 Initial Settings

Before using the camcorder, we recommend you to enable the Automatic Record function and set up the correct date and time.

2.5.1 Set Automatic Recording

To enable the recording to start automatically after you turn on the power, do the following:

  1. Press the button to enter the OSD menu.
  2. Press the / button to select Automatic Record and press the OK button.

  1. Press the / button to select On and press the button OK

  2. Press the button to exit the menu.

2.5.2 Set the Date and Time

To set the correct date and time, do the following:

  1. Press the button to enter the OSD menu.
  2. Press the / button to select Date / Time and press the button.
  3. Press the / button to adjust the value and press the button to move to another field.

  1. Repeat step 3 until the date and time setting is complete.

Note:

When the battery is depleted, you must reset the date/time before the function -automatic record is started. If the user doesn't reset the date/time, the camcorder will give you an alert after one minute and the automatic record will be started.

3 Using the Camcorder

3.1 Recording Videos

3.1.1 Record videos while driving

When the vehicle engine starts up and the Automatic Record function is enabled, the camcorder automatically turns on and starts recording.

Recording will automatically stop when the engine is switched off.

Or, press the button to stop recording manually.

Note:

On some cars, the recording will continue when the engine is switched off.

With some vehicle models, the automatic power up and off feature of this car camcorder will not function because the cigarette lighter/power socket is not linked to the ignition system.

To work around this issue, please do one of the following:

- Manually turn on or off the cigarette lighter/power socket if this is possible with your vehicle model.

- Manually plug in the power adapter into the socket to turn on the car camcorder and unplug from the socket to turn off the car camcorder.

3.1.2 Manual Video Recording

  1. Press the button to start recording.

  2. Press the button to stop recording.

Note:

  1. One video file is saved for every 3 or 5 minutes of recording. See Using the Menu (4.1).
  2. The camcorder saves the recording on the memory card. If the memory card capacity is full, the oldest file in the memory card will be overwritten.

3.1.3 Emergency Recording

During normal video recording, press the OK button to begin emergency recording mode.

The "Emergency" message will be displayed immediately on the upper left corner of the screen, and the recorded file will be continuous and protected from being overwritten.

To stop the recording, press the ▼ button.

Note:

  1. If the Collision Detection function is enabled and a collision is detected, the camcorder will automatically trigger the emergency recording feature.
  2. The emergency recording file is created as a new file, which will be protected to avoid being overwritten by normal loop recording. A 4 GB memory card can save up to 5 emergency video files, and 8 GB (or above) memory card can save up to 10 emergency video files. The alert message of "Emergency files are full" will pop up on the screen when the emergency recording files are full, and the oldest emergency file will be automatically deleted when a new emergency recording file is created.

3.1.4 Driver Fatigue Alert

  1. Press the button to enter the OSD menu.
  2. Press the / button to select Driver Fatigue Alert and press the button.

Driver Fatigue Alert function will remind the driver should take a rest after

continuing to drive for over one hour via “bi bi sound” from the device and also the alert picture (as enclosed) will be appear in the LCD screen. The product will remind the driver again after 30 minutes as each interval. But the product will recalculate the alert time If the car stop moving over 5 minutes.

3.1.5 LDWS (Lane Departure Warning Systems)

When LDWS (Lane Departure Warning Systems) is activated, the camcorder gives an audible and visual alert on the display when the vehicle deviates from the lane.

To set the LDWS (Lane Departure Warning Systems), do the following:

  1. Press the button to enter the OSD menu.
  2. Press the / button to select LDWS and press the button.
  3. Press the button to exit the menu.

Note:

The product shall be installed near the rearview mirror, at the center of windshield, so as to improve the accuracy of detection to judge the lane deviation.

3.1.6 The Recording Screen

3.1.7 Taking Photographs

You can also use this camcorder to take photos of the current scene.

3.2 Playback Videos and Photos

  1. If recording is in progress, press the button to stop recording. The standby screen is displayed.
  2. Press the button to enter the OSD menu.
  3. Press the / button to select the file category that you want to browse and press the button.
  4. Press the / button to view the next or the previous file and press the OK button to view the file in full screen.

Note:

From the standby screen, you can directly enter Playback mode by pressing▲ button. The last recorded video will display on the screen.

3.2.1 Playing Videos

To play videos, do the following:

  1. If recording is in progress, press the button to stop recording.

  2. Press the button to enter the OSD menu.

  3. Press the / button to select File Playback and press the button.

  2. Press the / button to browse for the desired video file and press the button to play the video.

  3. Press the button to pause the playback. Press it again to resume.

3.2.2 Viewing Photos

To view photos, do the following:

  1. If recording is in progress, press the button to stop recording.

  2. Press the button to enter the OSD menu.

  3. Press the /button to select File Playback and press the button.

3.2.4 Deleting Files

To delete file(s), do the following:

  1. If recording is in progress, press the button to stop recording.

  4. Press the / button to select the file category and press the OK button.
  5. Press the / button to select the file that you want to delete and press the button to enter the Delete menu.

4 Adjusting the Settings

4.1 Using the Menu

You can customize the video recording and other general settings via the on-screen display (OSD) menus.

5 Installing the Software
