Frequently Asked Questions - S8 Xblitz

Why won't the camera turn on?

Charge the battery before first use. If the screen flickers or doesn't turn on, ensure the battery is sufficiently charged and the power cable is connected properly.

Why does the camera not turn on/off automatically with the car?

This may be due to a constant power supply in the lighter socket. If the socket stays powered even when the car is off, the camera will remain on. Use a switched socket or manually turn off the camera.

Why does the camera restart while driving?

Check the power connection: ensure the charger is firmly plugged in and the cable is not loose. A poor connection can cause intermittent power loss.

Why does the camera not record in loop or records randomly?

Verify that Motion Detection and Parking Mode are turned off while driving. These modes can interfere with loop recording because they trigger recordings based on motion.

Why does the camera display 'Memory card full'?

Check the G-Sensor and Parking Mode settings; set sensitivity to minimum to prevent protecting unimportant files. Also, format the memory card to FAT32 on a computer, then format it again in the camera.

Why is the recorded sound distorted or noisy?

The camera has a sensitive condenser microphone. Avoid placing the camera near air conditioning vents, as airflow can cause distortion. Overlapping sounds from the surroundings may also degrade quality.

What should I do if the camera becomes unresponsive?

Press the RESET button on the camera using a paperclip, or restore factory settings via the menu. This will reboot the device and clear any temporary glitches.

Why do vertical stripes appear on the video?

This is caused by an incorrect screen refresh rate setting. Change the frequency to 50 Hz or 60 Hz depending on your local power grid frequency.

How do I install the memory card?

Ensure the camera is turned off before inserting or removing the microSD card. Insert the card with the metal contacts facing the screen until it clicks. Use a class 10 card formatted to FAT32.

Can I use a different charger?

Only use the original charger included in the package, which outputs 5V. Using a non-original or higher voltage charger can damage the camera or battery and poses a safety risk.

This product is a dashboard camera, powered by a 12/24V socket, designed for use in cars for recording the vehicle's path. Additionally, it has an active holder providing power to the camera, which makes for easy assembly and disassembly of the set. The product is made out of materials of the highest quality.

02. BEFORE USE

1. Using brand microSD memory cards (from 16GB to 256GB of memory) with speed class 10 is recommended.
2. Before putting the card into the camera, it needs to be formatted to FAT32 file system on your computer, and then again in your camera..
3. The memory card should be installed when the device is turned off, otherwise you can damage the card and the device. The same is true for taking out the memory card.
4. A fully charged battery lets the camera record video with no power supply for maximally 5 minutes. The battery's primary purpose is ensuring that the device's settings won't be reset due to lack of power.
5. When the memory card gets full, the oldest unprotected recordings will be overwritten.
6. It is recommended that you use the device's functions as intended. Do not use MOTION DETECTION and PARKING MODE when driving, as it can cause the device to turn on and off by itself, e.g. when you stop at a crossroads.
   It is recommended to set the G-SENSOR option to minimum to avoid protecting unimportant files and loss of space on your memory card.
   The memory card has to be formatted to FAT32 file system, first on a computer and then in the camera.
7. Sound: The device has a condenser microphone that continuously records all of the surrounding sounds. The sounds can overlap and cause distortion.

MODE	A short press outside of menu (when the camera isn't recording), switches betweenVIDEO/PHOTO/VIDEO PLAYmodes.When playing video, pressing the button stops the video playback.
UP	InMENUandVIDEO PLAYmode, the button is used to navigate through options.Invideo mode, ashort press turns parking mode on and off.During video playback, the buton rewinds the video.
OK	Invideo mode, short press turns video recording on and off.Inphoto mode, short press takes a photo.Invideo playmode, short press works as PLAY/ PAUSE.In menu and video play mode, short press confirms choices.
DOWN	InMENUandVIDEO PLAYmode, the button is used to navigate through options.In video mode, the button turns sound recording on and off.
MENU	Pressing the button opens a contextual menu (unless the camera is recording). Pressing it again takes you back to the general menu.During video recording, pressing the button protects the current recording from being overwritten.
RESET	Pressing the button resets the camera and restores default settings.

05. CAMERA ASSEMBLY

CAMERA ASSEMBLY MANUAL

1. Pick a spot to place your camera. It is best to place your camera in a place that makes as much space in front of the vehicle as possible visible on the display screen. Make sure that the camera will not obscure the driver's line of sight when driving.
2. Mount the holder on the windshield and then place the camera in the holder.
3. Place the USB cable as shown in the picture above.
4. Connect the miniUSB plug to the camera.
5. Connect the charger to the 12V lighter socket.

2. Put in a microSD memory card, formatted to FAT32 file system.

WARNING!

The card should be put in and take out only when the device is turned off.

The manufacturer does not guarantee compatibility with all micro SD cards on the market. A list of recommended cards can be found at www.Xblitz.pl in the S8 tab.

1. Set the:

a. Time and date.
b. Loop recording (set the time of recordings). If you turn loop recording off, files will not be overwritten.
c. Set the highest resolution available.
d. Set the G-Sensor to the lowest sensitivity available, so that the camera doesn't save unnecessary video files when you drive on uneven roads.
4. Make sure that MOTION DETECTION and PARKING MODE are turned off. If they remain turned on when you're driving, they will interfere with your recording. Turning the parking mode on is recommended only when you leave your vehicle parked.

PARKING MODE can be quickly turned on and off when recording by using the UP button.

1. The camera will start recording automatically when you turn the engine on (unless your car has a constant power supply in its lighter socket).

07. MAIN FEATURES OF THE CAMERA

1. Camera mode

The camera has 3 modes of operation:

a. Recording mode: the camera records video.
b. Photo mode: the camera takes pictures.
c. Video Play mode: browsing the footage recorded by the camera.

2. Loop recording

The camera divides the recordings into files of length of your choice. When the memory card is full, the oldest recording will be overwritten.

3. Resolution

The camera can record in many resolutions. The higher the resolution, the better the quality of recordings, at the cost of more space on the memory card being taken. It is recommended that you use the highest resolution available.

4. G-Sensor

Gravity sensor. When the sensor is turned on and your car is hit, the recording from the event will be protected from overwriting. Using the lowest sensitivity setting is recommended, as at higher settings the sensor can trigger when you drive on uneven roads and fill up your memory card with files that won't be overwritten.

5. Parking mode

When it's turned on, the camera left in your car (if connected to power supply) registers the car shaking (for example, due to a parking crash), turns on and starts recording (the recordings are automatically protected from being overwritten). Turning the parking mode off when driving is recommended. It can block the loop recording function.

6. Motion detection mode

When it's turned on and you leave the camera in standby mode, plugged to power supply, the camera will turn on and record a short video if it detects motion.

7. Sound recording

The camera can record sound along with video footage.

8. Time-lapse recording

In this mode, the camera records time-lapse videos instead of regular ones.

08. SAFETY MEASURES

1. Do not disassembly or interfere with the camera. If the device is faulty, contact the service point.
2. Only use the original accessories.
3. Use only the original charger, included in the set. Using a different power supply can affect the battery negatively.
4. Do not use the device for purposes that are against the law of the country or region you are in.
5. The operating temperature of the device is 0 - 35°C. Storage temperature is 5°C to 45°C. Operating air humidity is 5-90% without condensation.
6. Avoid damaging the device with physical force.
7. Clean the device, especially the lens. Do not use detergents or other chemicals when cleaning the device.
8. Clean the device only when it's disconnected from the power supply.
9. Keep the device away from children.
10. Do not expose the device to very high temperatures and fire.

09. FAQ

1. The device doesn't turn on, the screen is flickering.
