Why does my device show an error message?
Common causes: cuff not properly applied, movement during measurement, low battery, or weak pulse signal. Ensure cuff is snug, arm relaxed, and device still. Replace batteries if needed.
How to store readings for two users?
The device has separate memory banks for user 1 and user 2. Press the user button to select the desired user before measurement. Previously stored readings can be recalled by pressing the memory button.
Can I use the device if I have a pacemaker?
No, the device is not recommended for use with pacemakers or other implanted electronic devices. It may cause interference. Consult your physician.
How often should I replace the batteries?
Replace batteries when the battery symbol appears on the display or when measurements become unstable. Typically 4 AAA batteries last for about 250 measurements.
Is the device clinically validated?
Yes, the Inventum BDA632 has been clinically validated for accuracy according to international standards. However, always consult your doctor for interpretation of results.
What does the irregular heartbeat symbol mean?
If the symbol appears, it indicates that an irregular heartbeat was detected during measurement. This could be due to arrhythmia. If it appears frequently, consult your doctor.
How to clean the device and cuff?
Clean the device with a soft dry cloth. Do not use water, alcohol, or thinner. The cuff can be cleaned with a damp cloth, but do not immerse in water.
What is the warranty period?

- The device doesn't need to be calibrated during two years of reliable service.

- Please dispose of the ACCESSORIES, detachable parts and the ME EQUIPMENT according to the local guidelines.

- When the device was used to measure patients who have common arrhythmias such as atrial or ventricular premature beats or atrial fibrillation, the best result may occur with a deviation. Please consult your physician about the result.

- This device is contraindicated for any female subject who may be suspected of being, or is, pregnant. Besides providing inaccurate readings, the effects of this device on the foetus are unknown.

- Please keep the unit out of reach of infants, children or pets, since inhalation or swallowing of small parts is dangerous or even fatal.

- Too frequent and consecutive measurements could cause disturbances in blood circulation and injuries.

- When using this device, please pay attention to the following situation which may interrupt blood flow and influence blood circulation of the patient, thus cause harmful injury to the patient: too frequent and consecutive multiple measurements; the application of the CUFF and its pressurisation on any wrist where intravascular access or therapy, or an arterio-venous (A-V) shunt, is present; inflating the cuff on the wrist on the side of a mastectomy.

- Do not apply the cuff over a wound; otherwise, it can cause further injury.

- Do not inflate the cuff on the same limb which other monitoring ME EQUIPMENT is applied around simultaneously, because this could cause temporary loss of function of those simultaneously-used monitoring ME EQUIPMENT.

3 things to know about blood pressure

What are systolic pressure and diastolic pressure?

When ventricles contract and pump blood out of the heart, blood pressure reaches its maximum value, the highest pressure in the cycle is known as systolic pressure. When the heart relaxes between heartbeats, the lowest blood pressure is diastolic pressure.

What is the standard blood pressure classification?

The blood pressure classification published by World Health Organization (WHO) and International Society of Hypertension (ISH) in 1999 is as follows:

CAUTION:

Only a physician can tell your normal blood pressure range. Please contact a physician if your measuring result falls out of the range. Please note that only a physician can tell whether your blood pressure value has reached a dangerous point.

Irregular heartbeat detector

An irregular heartbeat is detected when a heartbeat rhythm varies while the unit is measuring the systolic and diastolic blood pressure. During each measurement, this equipment records the heartbeat intervals and works out the standard deviation. If the calculated value is larger than or equal to 15, the irregular heartbeat symbol appears on the symbol when the measurement results are displayed.

INVENTUM BDA632 - Irregular heartbeat detector - 1

CAUTION:

The appearance of the (♥) icon indicates that a pulse irregularity consistent with an irregular heartbeat was detected during measurement. Usually this is NOT a cause for concern. However, if the symbol appears often, we recommend you seek medical advice. Please note that the device does not replace a cardiac examination, but serves to detect pulse irregularities at an early stage.

How to take proper measurements

  • For the best accuracy in blood pressure measurement, sit comfortably with your arm resting on a flat surface.
  • Rest for about 5 to 10 minutes before a measurement.
  • Remain still and keep quiet during measurement.
  • Do not measure right after physical exercise or a bath.
    • Measure your blood pressure at about the same time every day.

Irregular heartbeat indication

This instrument can identify possible cardiac arrhythmia disorders (irregular heartbeat) during measurement and if necessary indicates the measurement with the icon ♥. This may be an indicator of arrhythmia. Arrhythmia is a condition where the heart rhythm is abnormal as a result of defects in the bioelectrical system controlling the heartbeat. The symptoms (omitted or premature heart beats, slow or excessively fast heart rate) may be caused, among other things, by heart disease, age, physical predisposition, excessive use of stimulants, stress or lack of sleep. Arrhythmia can only be ascertained through examination by your doctor. Repeat the measurement if the flashing icon is displayed after the measurement. Please note that you should rest for 3 minutes between measurements and not talk or move during the measurement. If the icon appears often, please contact your doctor. Any self-diagnosis and treatment based on the results may be dangerous. It is vital to follow your doctor's instructions.

WHO classification

According to the WHO Guidelines/Definitions and the latest findings, the test results can be classified and evaluated according to the following chart. Your physician will tell you your normal blood pressure range as well as the point at which you will be considered at risk.

Table for classification of blood pressure values (unit of measurement mmHg) for adults:

9 frequently asked questions

Why does my blood pressure fluctuate throughout the day?

  1. Individual blood pressure varies multiple times every day. It is also affected by the way you tie your cuff and your measurement position, so please take the measurement under the same conditions.
  2. If the person takes medicine, the pressure will vary more.
  3. Wait at least 3 minutes for another measurement.
  4. Blood pressure might fluctuate after eating and drinking.

Why do I get a different blood pressure at home compared to the hospital?

The blood pressure is different even throughout the day due to weather, emotion, exercise etc., Also, there is the “white coat” effect, which means blood pressure usually increases in clinical settings.

Is the result the same if measuring on the right upper arm?

It is ok for both arms, but there will be some different results for different people. We suggest you measure the same arm every time.
