Frequently Asked Questions - Olympus 75 Hs EUREKA

How do I adjust the grind setting on the Eureka Olympus 75 Hs?
Turn the micrometric adjustment ring located on the top of the grinder. Rotate it clockwise for finer grind and counterclockwise for coarser grind. The adjustment is stepless, allowing infinite settings. Always adjust while the motor is running to avoid damaging the burrs.
What type of coffee beans should I use?
Use whole roasted coffee beans intended for espresso or filter, depending on your desired brew method. Avoid oily or flavored beans as they may clog the burrs and affect performance.
How do I clean the burrs?
Disconnect the grinder and remove the hopper. Use the provided cleaning brush to sweep away coffee residue from the burrs and grinding chamber. For deep cleaning, remove the burrs by unscrewing the center bolt, then wash with mild soap and water. Dry thoroughly before reassembly.
Why is my grinder not dispensing coffee?
Check if the hopper is empty. If there are beans, ensure the adjustment ring is not set too fine, causing a clog. Also clean the chute area. If the motor runs but no coffee comes out, there may be a blockage in the burr chamber; disassemble and clean.
What is the recommended setting for espresso?
Start with the adjustment ring around mark 2-3 (fine). Test and adjust until you achieve a 25-30 second extraction time for a double shot. Fine-tuning depends on bean freshness and roast level.
Can I use the grinder for French press or pour-over?
Yes, the Olympus 75 Hs is versatile. For French press, use a coarse setting (around 8-10). For pour-over, a medium setting (5-7) works well. The wide adjustment range covers all grind sizes.
How often should I replace the burrs?
Depending on usage, replace the burrs after every 500-1000 kg of coffee ground. Signs of wear include inconsistent grind size, longer grinding times, or decreased flavor quality. Use genuine Eureka replacement burrs.
What does the safety microswitch do?
The microswitch prevents the grinder from operating when the hopper is removed. This ensures safety during cleaning and maintenance. If the grinder does not start, check that the hopper is properly locked in place.
Is the grinder noisy?
The Olympus 75 Hs operates at a moderate noise level typical of commercial grinders. The 75mm burrs and 700W motor produce a low-frequency hum. Placing the grinder on a non-resonant surface can reduce vibration noise.
Where can I buy spare parts?
Official spare parts are available through authorized Eureka dealers or online spare parts stores. Popular items like burrs and hoppers are stocked by many coffee equipment suppliers. Always provide your model number: Olympus 75 Hs.
