How do I reset the USR4515LC to factory defaults?

Locate the reset button on the back panel. Use a paperclip to press and hold the button for 10 seconds while the device is powered on. Release when the power LED blinks. The router will restart with factory settings.

What is the default IP address and login credentials?

The default IP address is 192.168.1.1. The default username is admin and password is password (or blank). Check the label on the device if changed.

How do I change the wireless network name (SSID)?

Log into the web interface. Go to Wireless Settings and enter a new SSID. Save the settings. The router will reboot to apply changes.

The internet connection is not working. What should I check?

Verify that the WAN cable is connected properly. Check the LED indicators: the WAN LED should be solid. Log into the router and check the WAN Status page. If using PPPoE, ensure correct username/password.

How do I secure my Wi-Fi network?

Access the wireless security settings. Choose WPA2-PSK and set a strong passphrase (at least 8 characters). Enable MAC address filtering if needed. Disable SSID broadcast for extra privacy.

Can I use the USR4515LC as a wireless repeater?

This model does not have a built-in repeater mode. You can connect it as a client bridge via third-party firmware like DD-WRT, but the original firmware does not support it.

How do I update the firmware?

Download the latest firmware from the USRobotics support website. Log into the router, go to Administration > Firmware Upgrade. Select the file and click Upload. Do not power off during update.

What should I do if I forget the router password?

The router supports up to 253 wireless clients, but performance may degrade with many simultaneous connections. For optimal performance, limit to 10-15 devices.

My wireless signal is weak. What can I do?

Place the router in a central location away from walls and metal objects. Ensure antennas are vertical. Change the wireless channel to avoid interference. Consider upgrading to a newer model for better range.

Introduction — The 10 Gigabit SR Fiber Tap (50 Micron) is a single-port device that provides easy access to passively monitor fiber traffic between devices using your network analysis tools.

Equipment Rack Installation:

- Select a location and align the Fiber Tap thumb screw with the corresponding universal flange middle hole. An additional 6-32 thread clip-on nut may be required to fasten the tap to your rack.

WARNING: Installing on a wide flange hole will result in the tap invading an adjoining standard 1U rackspace, unless a rackmount kit is used. The 19" 1U USR4500-RMK Rackmount Installation Kit is available for up to three units.

Considerations for Fiber Installation:

Fiber TAPs are splitters that divide the light traveling along the fiber into two separate channels. The splitting of the fiber takes signal strength from one fiber and divides it into two (or more) fibers requiring enough light from the main channel to be shared among the divided fibers - meaning that you need to take into consideration the “light budget” to allow for the loss of light on each split channel. By installing the fibers in the proper direction there should be enough light to work properly. If light does not enter the tap in the proper direction, the light traveling out from the MON port will be inadequate for the network tool to utilize the data. This is a common problem that results in link faults on the network tools. To remedy the problem, simply swap the Network connectors (In to Out and Out to In) for proper connectivity and link activity.
