IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

Read through all the instructions before starting to use the heater. Keep this instruction manual in a safe place for future reference.

  1. Supervision is necessary when the heater is used in the vicinity of children.
  2. The heater must not be used outdoors.

  3. Stand the heater on its base (13) on a dry, firm, even surface. Make sure it is standing securely so that it cannot tip over or fall down. The heater must only be used in an upright position. Do not leave the heater unsupervised during use.

  4. Unwind the power cord completely. An incompletely unwound cord can lead to overheating and cause a fire. Do not touch the power cord with wet hands. Make sure that there are no objects resting on the power cable and make sure it is not positioned where people could trip over it.

  5. Do not use an extension cord, a multiway connector or an infinitely variable speed controller. This can lead to overheating, fire or electric shock.

  6. Connect the heater only to a single phase socket with the current as stated on the appliance's type plate.

  7. Always switch the heater off with the rotary power switch (2) and always disconnect the power plug (12) from the socket when the heater is not in use, or when it is moved, handled or cleaned. Do not tug at the power cord to disconnect the power plug. The heater must only be handled with dry hands.

  8. Do not use the heater anywhere near easily inflammable gases or substances such as solvents, lacks, glues, etc..

  9. Do not position the heater directly below a power plug.

  10. Do not use the heater in close vicinity of a bathroom, a shower, or a swimming-pool.

  11. Do not use the heater in any kind of vehicle (e.g. constructor's shed, elevator, lift, caravan, motor vehicle, cabin) or similarly enclosed space.

  12. Caution: The air outlet grid (11) of the heater gets very hot during use. Burnable materials such as cushions, pillows, duvets, furniture, paper, curtains, stores and clothing must be kept at least 100 cm distance away from the heater. (Fig. 1)

  13. Keep the heater clean. Make sure that the air inflow grid (10) and air outlet grid (11) are opened before you start using the heater. Do not allow any objects to get into the air intake grid (10) or air outlet grid (11). Do not cover up the heater (Symbol 25 ) on the upper side of the heater), as this can lead to overheating, fire or electric shock.

  14. Do not dip the heater in water or any other liquids and do not pour water or any other liquids over the appliance or into the air intake grid (10) or air outlet grid (11).

  15. Clean the heater regularly according to the cleaning instructions.

  16. The heater must be operated according to the specific instructions in this instruction manual. Non-observance of these instructions can result in injuries, a fire, an electric shock or faults in the appliance.
  17. The heater is intended exclusively for domestic use indoors. It is not designed for commercial use.
  18. If the power cord of the heater is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer or by a manufacturer-approved workshop or similarly qualified persons so that damage can be avoided.
  19. Do not use the heater if it is damaged, or if it might be damaged, if it has fallen over, or if does not function correctly. Disconnect the power plug from the power socket.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE

  1. Make sure that the rotary power switch (2) is in the OFF position (3). Insert the power plug into the power socket. Do not touch the power cord with wet hands.

ENGLISH

  1. Make sure that the air intake grid (10) and air outlet grid (11) are not covered up. The air intake grid (10) and air outlet grid (11) must always be free when the heater is on.
  2. Before moving or storing the heater, turn the rotary power switch (2) to the OFF position (3) and remove the power plug from the power socket.
  3. Turn the rotary power switch (2) to the desired operating temperature:

(✗) COLD AIR (4)

(I) WARM AIR 1000 W (5)

(II) HOT AIR 2000 W (6)

The power control lamp (1) lights up. When the rotary power switch (2) is in the HOT AIR position 2000 W (6), you cannot turn it further in a clockwise direction, but only anti-clockwise.

Rotary thermostat switch

  1. When you wish to operate the heater in the COLD AIR position (4), turn the rotary thermostat switch (7) slightly clockwise until the heater starts running.
  2. When you wish to use the heater in the WARM AIR (5) or HOT AIR (6) positions, turn the rotary thermostat switch clockwise to the highest position MAX (9).
  3. When the desired room temperature has been reached, turn the rotary thermostat switch (7) anti-clockwise until you hear it "click". Now the heater has been switched off.
  4. Turn the rotary thermostat switch (7) back slightly in a clockwise direction. The heater will now automatically switch itself on and off to maintain the desired room temperature.
  5. The further you turn the rotary thermostat switch in a clockwise direction, the higher the room temperature will get. The highest position equals a room temperature of about 30^ C. The lowest position (8) equals a room temperature of about 5^ C.
  6. It is normal for the heater not to switch on if the room temperature is higher than 30 °C .
  7. If the room temperature is below 5 °C, the heater will continue heating until the room temperature has risen above 5 °C.
  8. When the rotary thermostat switch (7) is in the MAX position (9), you cannot turn it further in a clockwise direction, but only anti-clockwise.

Overheating protection

  1. The heater is equipped with overheating protection which switches the heater off automatically if the appliance gets too hot.
  2. Turn the rotary power switch (2) to OFF (3) and remove the power plug from the power socket.

  3. Allow the heater to cool for at least 20 minutes.

  4. If necessary, remove any objects which are blocking the air intake grid (10) or air outlet grid (11), or use a vacuum cleaner to clean the grids which have caused faulty running or overheating. If the inside of the heater is seen to have accumulated a lot of dust, please get the appliance cleaned at a service centre.
  5. Resume using the heater as described under „Instructions for use“.

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

We recommend you to clean the heater regularly. In order to avoid disrupting the functioning of the appliance, please follow the instructions for cleaning and maintenance.
