Getting started
About MySpace for BlackBerry devices
You can use MySpace® for BlackBerry® devices to stay connected with your friends. You can send messages to friends, post bulletins, add friends, view notifications, upload photos to your MySpace® account, and more. You can upload photos from the media application or from attachments. If your BlackBerry device has a camera, you can also upload photos that you take with the camera.
If you already have a MySpace account, you can use your existing login information to log in to MySpace for BlackBerry devices. To get a MySpace account, visit www.myspace.com.
You can download MySpace for BlackBerry devices from the BlackBerry App World™ storefront.

Requirements
- a BlackBerry device with a trackball, touchscreen, or trackpad
- BlackBerry® Device Software version 4.2 or later
- A wireless service plan that includes Internet access
960 KB of available application memory
An existing MySpace account

Log in to MySpace for BlackBerry devices
- On the Home screen of the BlackBerry® device or in the application list, click the MySpace icon.
- Type your login information.
- Click Login.
To log out, press the Menu key. Click Options. Click Log Out.

Switch MySpace accounts
- On the MySpace® home screen, press the Menu key.
- Click Log Out.
- Type the login information.
- Click Login.

View your MySpace profile
- Press the Menu key.
- Click My Profile.
Change your status
- On the MySpace® home screen, highlight your status.
- Type a new status.
- Click Update.
Change your mood
- On the MySpace® home screen, click your mood.
- Perform one of the following tasks:
To choose an existing mood, click a mood.
To create a new mood, type your mood.
- Click Update.

Check for the latest version of MySpace for BlackBerry devices
You can check whether a new version of MySpace® for BlackBerry® devices is available for you to download over the wireless network.
- Press the Menu key.
- Click Options.
- Click Check for upgrade now.
- Complete the instructions on the screen.

To move to the top of a message, press T.
To move to the bottom of a message, press B.

To view the next photo in the album, press N.

Notifications
Stop receiving a new item indicator on the Home screen of your device
By default, a new item indicator appears on the Home screen of your BlackBerry® device when you receive a new MySpace® message, profile comment, or friend request. You can choose to stop receiving a new item indicator when you receive a new profile comment or friend request.
- Press the Menu key.
- Click Options.
- Clear the check box beside an item.
- Press the Menu key.
- Click Save.

Change the email notification options for your MySpace account
You can receive a MySpace® email notification for several actions and items in MySpace. You can choose which MySpace email notifications you want to receive. MySpace email notifications are sent to the email address that you specified in your MySpace account.
- Press the Menu key.
- Click Options.
- Beside Email notifications, click Customize.
- Select or clear the check boxes beside the actions.
- Press the Menu key.
- Click Save.

Prevent notifications from appearing in the messages application
- Press the Menu key.
- Click Options.
- Clear the Show notifications in message list check box.

Friends
View a friend's MySpace profile
You can view a friend's photos, comments, and friends list from a friend's profile.
- Click the friends icon at the top of the screen.
- Change the Display field.
- Click a friend.
Send a friend request
You can add friends to your friends list by sending friend requests to MySpace® users.
- On the MySpace home screen, press the Menu key.
- Click Search.
- Type a first name and last name, display name, or email address.
- Click Search.
- Click a MySpace user.
- Click Add to Friends.
- If necessary, type a message.
- Click Add to Friends.

Search for a MySpace user
- On the MySpace® home screen, press the Menu key.
- Click Search.
- Type a first name and last name, display name, or email address.
- Click Search.
- Click a MySpace user.

Accept or decline a friend request
- Click the friend request icon at the top of the screen.
- Click a friend request.
- Click Accept Friend request, Deny Friend request, or Mark as spam.

Messages, comments, and bulletins
Send a message
- Click the envelope icon at the top of the screen.
- Press the Menu key.
- Click Compose.
- Type part of a friend's name.
- Click a friend.
- Type a message.
- Click Send.

Save a draft of a message
- When composing a message, press the Menu key.
- Click Save Draft.

Delete a message
- Click the envelope icon at the top of the screen.

Click a message.

Press the Menu key.
- Click Delete.

View or hide sent messages
- Press the Menu key.
- Click Options.
- Select or clear the Hide sent mail messages check box.

View only sent messages
- Click the envelope icon at the top of the screen.
- Press the Menu key.
- Click View Sent Folder.

Post a comment
You can post a comment on your profile, a friend's profile, a bulletin, or a photo.

Perform any of the following actions:

To post a comment in your profile, press the Menu key. Click My Profile. Click View comments. Click Add comment.
- To post a comment in a friend's profile, click the friends icon at the top of the screen. Change the display field. Click a friend. Click View comments. Click Add comment.
- To post a comment in a bulletin, press the Menu key. Click My bulletins. Click a bulletin. Click Add Comment.

To post a comment on a photo, click the camera icon at the top of the screen. Click an album. Click a photo. Press the Menu key. Click View/Add comment.

Type a comment.
- Click Post Comment.
To delete a comment, click a comment. Press the Menu key. Click Delete.

Delete a profile comment
- Click the My Comments icon at the top of the screen.
- Click a comment.
- Press the Menu key.
- Click Delete until the My Comments screen appears.
View a bulletin
- Press the Menu key.
- Click My Bulletins.
- Click a bulletin.
Post a bulletin
- On the MySpace® home screen, press the Menu key.
- Click My Bulletins.
- Press the Menu key.
- Click Post Bulletin.
- Type a message.
- Click Send.

Reply to a bulletin
When you reply to a bulletin, your reply is sent to your friend's MySpace® inbox.
- Press the Menu key.
- Click My bulletins.
- Click a bulletin.

- Type a message.

- Click Send.

Delete a bulletin
- On the MySpace® home screen, press the Menu key.
