Preparation

Ensure that the air filter of the Tanaka TBC600 is clean before proceeding with the adjustment.

Idle Adjustment (T screw)

This is the only adjustment screw accessible to the user:

Start the engine
Turn the T screw clockwise until the cutting tool starts to rotate
Then turn counterclockwise until the blade stops completely

Target idle speed: 2,500 to 3,000 rpm. The engine should run smoothly and the tool should not rotate at minimum idle.

Adjustments of L and H screws

These two screws are pre-set at the factory. If an adjustment is necessary (engine not starting or poor acceleration), the standard values from a slightly closed position are:

L screw (low-speed circuit): 1 turn 1/8
H screw (high-speed circuit): 1 turn 1/4

Important: Never turn these screws more than 90° beyond their initial position, otherwise the engine may be damaged.

Engine Specifications

The Tanaka TBC600 is equipped with a 47 cm³ 2-stroke single-cylinder engine with a maximum speed of 9,900 rpm. Use a lead-free gasoline mixture (minimum octane rating 89) and 2-stroke oil in a ratio of 25:1 to 50:1 depending on the type of oil used.
