Preparing the Woodfire smoker: To use the smoking function in grill mode on your Woodfire OG701EU, start by lifting the lid of the removable smoke box (located on the right side of the lid). Using the provided scoop, fill the smoke box completely with Ninja wood pellets to the top, then close the lid. Do not exceed the top to avoid introducing oxygen. Ensure that the grill is plugged in and that the grease tray is properly installed at the back.

Selecting Grill Mode: Turn the selection knob clockwise from the OFF position to select the GRILL function. Then, press the WOODFIRE FLAVOUR technology button to activate the smoking function. The pellets will go through an automatic ignition cycle (IGN) followed by preheating (PRE).

Setting the Temperature and Time: The default temperature setting will be displayed on the screen. Use the +/- buttons next to TEMP to adjust the temperature from LO (low) to HI (high). Then use the +/- buttons next to TIME to set the cooking time in 1-minute increments, up to a maximum of 1 hour.

Starting Cooking: Press the START button to begin preheating. During preheating with Woodfire, the pellets will first go through the ignition cycle (IGN - visible on the screen), then the grill enters the preheating phase (PRE). Important - Using Pellets: Always use genuine Ninja wood pellets for the best smoking flavors. Never fill the smoke box with heating pellets, hardwood, charcoal, or other fuels. Ninja has perfected the amount of pellets for each session, regardless of food size. Always fill the box to the maximum - it will automatically burn the appropriate amounts. After cooking, do not lift the lid or the smoke box until the grill has completely stopped smoking and the pellets are fully burned.

If you wish to extend smoking by adding more pellets during cooking, wait until the first batch is completely burned, then press and hold the WOODFIRE FLAVOUR technology button for 4 seconds to restart the ignition of a new full box. Do this operation only once or twice maximum. Never use oils or non-stick sprays during smoking, as the smoke will not adhere as well to the food.
